Hey, just got a few questions for anyone really regarding the game.

First of all, I am having a serious crisis in regards to player fitness. Each game my players will start with roughly 95% condition (I can't seem to get them any closer 100% but that's a different matter) but by 60-70 minutes in, I will have around 4 or 5 players down at 65% condition (these are all averages/estimates to get my point across) with my assistant suggesting that I sub them. The players in question are not unfit players - Ben Marshall for example who has excellent natural fitness, stamina, and is only young at 21 years old - is particularly susceptible to this. My training set up is pretty basic, not too laid back or too strenuous. I am wondering, therefore, whether this is normal and/or if there is anything I can do about it. I understand that fatigue is a part of the game but it seems to be affecting me more than I expected and more importantly, a lot more than my opposition.

Secondly, when my players go on a 6 match unbeaten run, second in the league and confidence sky-high and then put on a shocking display against bottom of the league Scunthorpe, losing 3-0 with each players rating around the 5.0 mark, is there a reason for this? Is it complacency and is there a way to combat this? Or is it something else?

Sorry for the long-windedness, this is the first FM I've played since about 2005 and a lot has changed since then!

1) rest the entire squad for 1 or 2 days after a game

check to see if these players are Jaded and in need of a rest, too many games week in week out can tire players

2) that is Football Manager mate! you need to alternate tactics to avoid complacency, team talks need to be changed up and done properly to avoid this as well!

no probs mate :)

I have a really annoying problem. All of a sudden (i think that maybe because of the new patch that updates automatically) my team talks are going really wrong. i say good luck lads and they are losing motivation and so on. does anybody else has the sama problem , and if so did you solve it? it is driving me insane. please help before i put my head trough a wall.

there is not much you can do mate! someone probably did something and thought it worked! Paloschi has screwed his cruciates for me in the first season and is out for at least 8 months, no way he will be the same player afterwards! during their injury, there is NOTHING you can do for them :) you cant send them to the States for specialist treatments etc :) Dont believe everything you read either :) some people can talk **** :P

Cavani was injured for 3 months with a damaged knee and had dropped several points, I put him on conditioning training after giving him a weeks break in training just as he came back, played him in reserves for a few games to get match fit and then put him back on his normal schedule and he is increasing stats again and acutally playing a lot better than he was when I first got him :)

Cheers Mate! Thanks for the reply and the advice. Best thread on the forums.

hahha, join the rest of us! Teamtalks and the game are much harder now! much more realistic!

I am thinking of writing a team talk guide, just busy testing out different combinations!

dont say anything :) thats what I do sometimes, that way you get no reaction!

thanks...i was worried that something is wrong with my game or something...and why do you say realistic if before a game I say good luck lads and they lose focus etc etc. that dose not seem to realistic to me. should i let the assistant make the talks all the time ? thanks a lot raikan you're a life saver i just decided not to hit my head againts the wall anymore :D

Raikan sorry for all these questions but you are an answer machine :D

Anyway I got 2 Question

1. I am playing as qpr 1st season and I am in need of a left winger and so far I have tried some players but all of them reject me have you got any suggestions for the left wing who you think might join btw it doesn't matter about price but nothing above 7.5 mil
And also a central midfielder who is a playmaker.
2. Is there anywhere on the forum with a good guide on making tactics especially setting up the defence

Once again thanks a lot mate ;)

Hello Raikan, I hope you have the answer for a nagging problem I have,

I have a regen with 4 star potential (by sidnei lobo), and he's doing tremendous in my man united under 18 squad, scoring 3-4 goals almost every match. I have a pretty decent under 18 squad (all with minimum of 3,5 potential). The problem is, his stat is not that great, and he's already 18 years old.

What do you think? is this normal? I have a few other regen with 3,5-4 star potential with 'suspectible' stats..

I have a good training and coach (4,5-5 star rating) btw..

Thx Raikan :)

Hi Raikan
Just wanted to know if there is any way you can see goals from lower leagues. I am Spurs, and I have a 17 year old in League 1, is there any way I can see his goals that he scores?

no problem mate!

1) Cristian Rodriguez, Dmitry Torbinskiy, Jan Chramosta, Park Ji Sung, Welbeck (loan) Daniel Sturridge (loan) Vierinhia (sp) Mark Noble, Milan Badelj, Markus Henriksen, Beram Keryal (Celtic) you have Faurlin though, he is quality!

At the moment its just his pace that is getting him the goals! bring him up to the first team sqaud! put him on very little physical training but focus on tactics/attacking etc to improve is technical stats!

get your best striker (mental stats) to tutor him! then once that has finished, loan him out to a decent club for 6 months to play first team football! bring him back, tutor him again! focus individual training on technique and finishing/composure :)

follow those and you should have a very good poacher in 3-5 years

What tactic can I use that would go along with Andy Caroll in Liverpool? (bench doesn't count)

Defending set pieces help please? I concede so many goals off corners.

Asked this question last night Raikan but could do with your opinion too. Faurlin for QPR is giving me a headache. I just want him to keep possession, nothing fancy but he only averages 79% pass success rate at the moment. My team usually bosses possession but it really is just down to the tactic - a 4 1 3 2 with supporting fullbacks which roam right down the wings for support.

He is on the left hand side of a central 3 packed midfield playing alongside an advanced playmaker (verratti) and a box to box midfielder (Mariga / Ross Barkley), with an anchorman helping out behind three of them (Mariga for tough games, Claudio Yacob for the more open ones). Taarabt playing up front as a trequartista alongside Gaston Fernandez primarily as a poacher, but swapping positions with Taarabt.

I am looking for just two pretty simple things from Faurlin, 1 massively up his pass success rate to somewhere in the 90s (like I think it should be considering his stats - 18 passing, 16 decisions, 15 technique, 15 composure, 16 first touch... The guy SHOULD be a passing machine). And 2, just give the ball constantly to 2 players - Taarabt or Verrati who can look after the more creative side of things.

I've had a read of your possession thread and tried to take some advice on board but I don't want to sacrifice my style of play TOO much - I play fluid, control, counter attack , creative freedom more expressive, roaming ticked, zonal marking, high defensive line, width on the low side (but still classed as normal) and time wasting just on rarely.

play him in the middle of the 3 man midfield!

1) teach dictates tempo, short simple passess
2) short passing, little freedom
3) moves into channels
4) hold up ball

cant play counter and expect players to hold onto ball and look for short passes! take off use control!

Thanks for the reply Raikan, but I need defending set pieces, not scoring of them.
