Not the greatest of starts Dan, but it did look to pick up a bit towards the end, so hopefully it'll continue to improve! And a good result for AussieOchoa, I'm liking the look of this story already!

Toon Tumble in August

Just one month into his managerial stint at Newcastle United, and Nick van Aalst is already performing poorly, just like his squad.

Newcastle 2-2 West Brom
Premier League
The Hawthorns

The opening game at West Brom showed some good signs for Newcastle. A double for Nile Ranger and some good performances from debutants showed that the season was promising, but conceding two goals was never good, and Newcastle's defence will have to shape up if they want to compete in the top flight this season.

Newcastle 0-2 Stoke
Premier League
St. James' Park

The only positive thing from this match, Newcastle deserved a win. The Toon dominated most of this game, but could not score, whereas Stoke took their chances well. We know that van Aalst will be putting his players through the paces at training this week, making sure they know how to finish.

Newcastle (P) 1-1 Norwich
League Cup
St. James' Park

A slightly inexperienced side sent out, and it almost backfired for Newcastle. A come from behind draw to take it to extra-time, and eventually penalties, shows that Newcastle need to get their heads out of the sky. A second half Hatem Ben Arfa goal saved Newcastle, and then a perfect set of penalties sent them through to the third round.

Newcastle 0-1 West Ham
Premier League
Upton Park

Newcastle got dominated, no other way to say it, and if it weren't for a brilliant Guillermo Ochoa performance, it could of been about 7-0. A second half Demba Ba goal gave three points to West Ham.

---

A disappointing first month for Newcastle, they will need to improve quickly if they don't want to be relegated.

Guillermo Ochoa. A decent month from the new signing. The Mexican has impressed in his first three performances for the Toon, and he doesn't look like slowing down.

Wha a terrible start  Worse than me, I may not be that suckish after all.

Depending on Toddzy's my predictions looking good :p, Hope this story lasts its shaping up to be a good one kiu :D

Signing a first team striker to replace Carroll looks like the most important thing for Newcastle, waiting to see how Neymar performs

Both of you haven't had the best start but I am sure you'll pick up.

Great updates!

October Update

Jonas-Gutierrez.jpg

We, here at nufc.co.uk are here to bring you a short but sweet update on the Toon's goings on in October. With only three games being played, how would they fair?

Manchester City 2-0 Newcastle

The Toon started the month with a very tricky game at Eastlands against Manchester City. The Toon fans did not give their team much hope and there was even more misery when Mirel Radoi headed home after eight minutes. Twenty minutes later, Carlos Tevez doubled the lead but on the stats the home side were looking very lucky to be winning. Alan Shearer's Newcastle side continued to press for the rest of the game but they could not just find the back of the net.

Jonás

After falling unluckily to Man City, the Toon were back to home comforts at St James' Park against Wigan. The Magpies had a great first half with a number of efforts going close. Two minutes after the brak though, Ben Arfa gave them the lead. This goal looked to drive them on as two goals in the last ten minutes from Coates and Jonás gave them a great win.

West Ham 0-1 Newcastle
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Vaclav Kadlec

Alan Shearer's team were expected to be in for a hard time when they travelled to East London to take on West Ham United. The first half was very equal, with both Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku having very good chances. The game was sparked into life though, six minutes after half time when Vaclav Kadlec struck home. A solid defensive display from Steven Taylor helped the Hammers hold on for the win.

we had a great month in October and even though we lost, we did not deserve it. We are playing a lot better and I am starting to get the tactics right. The boys have been great and have settled in really well with me coming in.

Much better from you Dan!

Great wins against Wigan and West Ham which will prove vital in the long term. :)

I'm still doing ****, so I'm reluctant to update :S Plus I haven't played the save all day today and yesterday :)

November Update

Today, we bring you the November update for Newcastle's game from nufc.co.uk.

Arsenal 2-2 Newcastle
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Steven Taylor
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Romelu Lukaku

Newcastle started the month of November with a game that could not come much harder, away at the Emirates and no-one gave them a cat in hells chance. It was the underdogs that opened the scoring after the returning Steven Taylor headed home from a corner. Three minutes after half time, the little Russian, Arshabin equalised for the home side. Five minutes after the hour mark, the Gunners found themselves with a 2-1 lead and it looked over for the Magpies. However, all was not lost when Romelu Lukaku struck home two minutes from time to give Newcastle a brilliant point.

Newcastle 4-1 Blackburn

Romelu Lukaku (3)
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Jonás

After coming off the back of a tremendous draw at the Emirates, Newcastle hosted Blackburn. Just over half an hour into he game, Belgian superstar Lukaku struck home to give the home side a lead. Three minutes, he popped up again to double their lead. Ten minutes into the second half, Lukaku wrapped up the game with a fine finish to give him his second match ball of the season. Junior Hoilett scored a consolation for Rovers before Jonás made it four for the delighted Toon fans.

Newcastle 3-0 Fulham
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Vaclav Kadlec
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Fabricio Collocini
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Hatem Ben Arfa

After an easy victory at St James' on their last visit, Toon hosted Fulham this time in a Premier League game. Vaclav Kadlec opened the scoring to put Shearer's men in front inside half an hour. The Toon doubled their lead just before half time through a Collocini header, making Shearer's team talk much easier. The second half did not brag many chances, with Ben Arfa grabbing a third for the Magpies to seal a 3-0 win.

Bolton 1-3 Newcastle
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Vaclav Kadlec (2)
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Romelu Lukaku

After two comfortable victories at home, it was time for Toon fans on the road again as they travelled to Bolton. The journey was proving the wait after Kadlec netted after just six minutes. After half an hour, Lukaku doubled the lead and the Toon took full control of the match. Daniel Sturridge put the result back into jeopardy with a 77th minute strike but Kadlec completed his brack two minutes into stoppage time with a delightful finish.

Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Alex (o.g)
13px-Soccerball_shade.png
Hatem Ben Arfa

In their last game of the month, Alan Shearer's Newcastle team were looking to carry on their brilliant form in a tricky home game against Chelsea. Things started fantastically for Newcastle when Alex put the ball into his own net after just four minutes. After the goal, Chelsea started to pile on the pressure but they just could not take their chances. On a great counter attack, Hatem Ben Arfa doubled the home sides lead four minutes before the break. Newcastle hung on for the unexpected three points.

Magpies Stall in September

Manager Nick van Aalst's second month at Newcastle has come to an end, and it is not looking good early for the young Australian.

---

Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa
Premier League
St. James' Park

Aston Villa made the trip up north for the first match of September, and they brought their 'A-Game'. Although Newcastle probably deserved to win, it was Aston Villa that walked away with the three points on the day, proving that it's not how many shots you take, it's the quality of the shots. Newcastle still need to improve their finishing if they are going to challenge some teams.

---

Newcastle 0-5 Manchester United
Premier League
Old Trafford

Newcastle's first trip to Manchester for the season provided no shocks, as Man Utd walked away with an easy three points after dominating the entire game. Wayne Rooney grabbed to goals in the embarrassment, while Guillermo Ochoa scored a contentious own goal and James Tavernier got sent off for a second bookable offence. This result has left question marks over Nick van Aalst's role as manager at Newcastle.

---

Newcastle 2-1 Arsenal
League Cup 3rd Round
St. James' Park

A goal in the first and last five minutes sealed the suprise victory for Newcastle in front of the home crowd. Joey Barton opened the scoring after a brilliant run from van der Wiel, with a well struck effort from just inside the box. The lead lasted for seventy-eight minutes, before a Sol Campbell own goal made extra-time look inevitable. That was all forgotten however, as in the second minute of injury time, Sol Campbell redeemed himself with a textbook header to send Newcastle into the fourth round where they will play Aston Villa, at St. James' Park.

Joey Barton was also injured for 3-4 days.

Newcastle 2-1 Fulham
Premier League
St. James' Park

For the second time in three days, Newcastle walked away with a win at St. James' Park, although this time it won them three points. Newcastle dominated the opening stages of the game, but could not convert their pressure into goals, and it was Danny Murphy who opened the scoring for Fulham from the penalty spot. Newcastle manager Nick van Aalst was fuming at his sides inability to score, and he brought on Dale Jennings to see if that would change, it did. Dale Jennings tied the score up with twenty minutes left, before he forced the own goal to give Newcastle the 2-1 lead with ten minutes left. Dale Jennings was named MOM and a petition was started for him to start more matches!

---

That was the end of Nick van Aalst's second month as Newcastle manager, and it ended well after a shaky start. Could Newcastle be turning it around? Only next month will tell. Newcastle now sit in 17th in the Premier League, one spot above the relegation zone.

Newcastle shape up in October!

Nick van Aalst's Newcastle team have finally improved, a little bit, and now he is now looking safe in his job at the helm of the Toon, almost.

---

Newcastle 0-3 Everton
Premier League
Goodison Park

Not a good start to the month for van Aalst and the Toon, but this match had some good glimpses for Newcastle, especially substitute Dale Jennings, again. Newcastle's short little winning streak, (two games), had come to an end, but it's only one loss, could they overcome this hurdle, or would they fall again?

---

Newcastle 3-1 Tottenham
Premier League
St. James' Park

Not how the scoreline shows it. Guillermo Ochoa saved Newcastle numerous time in the first fifteen-twenty minutes, and eventually Tottenham broke down. A quick counter-attack allowed Dale Jennings to score the opening goal of the game, his debut. This was followed up with a Sol Campbell header to put Newcastle 2-0 up. Tottenham looked set to comeback with a William Gallas goal just before the half, and it was game on. Jonas sealed the game ten minutes into the second half with a very neat finish that sent all of St. James' Park into raptures. Game Over!

---

Newcastle 3-0 Wigan
Premier League
St. James' Park

Three goals, three scorers and three points, three reasons to love Newcastle! The first goal game in the second half, after Newcastle squandered many chances in the first half, including a Jose Enrique penalty smashed onto the crossbar. Kevin Nolan eventually broke the deadlock with an absolute sublime chip, (shown below), before Jonas scored an equally impressive solo run to make it 2-0, (again show below). Hatem Ben Arfa rounded up all three points in injury time to make it a wonderful day out for all Newcastle fans.

---

Newcastle 0-3 Aston Villa
League Cup 4th Round
St. James' Park

A very disappointing game for Newcastle, they didn't really make an impression all match long, and it only took one Villa goal to open the flood gates for two more. Nick van Aalst must be wondering how his side has fallen to this sort of form!

---

Newcastle 0-1 Blackburn
Premier League
Ewood Park

Another very disappointing match for the Toon, the one shining ray of light in Newcastle's performance, Guillermo Ochoa. He kept the score respectable, and a times, he astonished even the refereeing staff!

Jose Enrique was also injured for 6-7 weeks.

---

The third month of the season is over, and the Toon have found where they will hover around for the rest of the season, most likely. They have risen two places to 15th on the table.

Better month mate! Some good wins there and hopefully you'll continue to improve. Love the layout too!

Bolton 2-1 Newcastle
Klasnic puts sword to opening day win!

Klasnic and Mark Davies celebrate late strike

As the new season dawned on the Reebok stadium many felt that this was going to be an interesting first game of the season. With Bolton no longer playing 'hoof' ball under Coyle and Jim Jefferies the new man at the helm for Newcastle, it was all to play for.

But like history would suggest, Newcastle were paid a visit by their oldest friend, Mr.consistency. After having a fantastic pre-season which seen new boys Maikon Leite and Neymar score a few, they started vert poorly.

Bolton dominated the opening stages and even created a few chances. The first came when Martin Petrov robbed James Perch on the wing and cut inside. Initially the fans were holding their breath for a strike from the Bulgarian but he instead slid a cracking through ball into the path of Johan Elmander. The Sweede however missed the chance to grab his side the lead and stuck the ball wide of the goal from 6 yards out. Coyle came charging from the touchline to scream at his forward, it was a poor finish indeed.

And the finishing didn't get any better. Keven Davies had a good chance but squandered a header from 7 yards. After a great cross from Petrov again, Davies found himself above Williamson and heading towards goal. His shot though was stopped by Newcastle keeper Steve Harper.

Things didn't look good for Newcastle. This was summed up when Ben Arfa dribbled towards the goal. He slid a pass to Maikon Leite who then progressed towards goal. With the away section anticipating a goal from the Brazilian, he in turn slid it to Neymar. As the youngster ran towards the ball, he immdiately pulled up and fell to the ground in great despair. Sportingly Gary Cahill removed the ball from open play and allowed Neymar to recieve apporiate treatment. He was sadly then carried off and was replaced by youngster Phil Airey.

But finally Bolton grabbed a deserved lead. After a good one-two between Petrov and Elmander, the Bulgarian progessed into swinging the ball into the middle. A routine clearance became a problem when Jose Enrique totally misjudged the flight of the ball and missed his header. The ball fell kindly the the skipper Davies' feet. He replied with grace and poise, not typical from Davies but nonetheless placed the ball well out of Harper's reach and into the bottom left corner. 24 minutes in and finally a goal was no doubt the fans reaction.

Although it then appeared that the goal in which they had conceaded had sparked new life into the Geordie outfit. Short and quick passing in the midfield was greeted with pleasure by a fast thinking and moving attacking line. The chances came. The first was for youngster Phil Airey who made a hash of some wondeful Joey Barton play. The newly appointed captain found himself driving at the Bolton defence. With Airey in yards of space, Barton proceded to slip the ball to him. One on one with Jussi Jääskeläinen. In a battle of whits, the keeper provailed and the young prospect bottled under the pressure.

Not to worry. A few moments later Tiote gathered the ball and played it to Ben Arfa. On the spin, the Frenchman struck the ball from 25-30 yards out. It struck Muamba and made its way out for a corner. The away support cheered and clapped furiously to try and spur on their team. It worked. Ben Arfa whipped an in-swinging cross in which was met by the head of MIke Williamson. He simply held a finger to his lips to the home support as his teammates grabbed him from all directions.

'Goal meant nothing due to loss.'
- Mike Williamson

The game stayed stale for large patches of the game. No team could grab a hold of play whilst also trying to knock the ball around and pass it. It was in the end, a cruel way to lose. An 89th minute strike from the Croatian Ivan Klasnic which handed Bolton all 3 points on the opening day. Mark Davies had gathered the ball on the half way line and progessed forward. He played it out wide to Petrov who then started to run at Perch. After a deflected cross found the feet of Klasnic on the edge of the box, the striker clearly had one thing on his mind. He swiveled, he struck, he scored. A devastating left footed striker thunderbolted itself into the top right hand corner.

Coyle said a fair result would have been a draw whilst Jefferies admitted he was disappointed and worried about the injur Neymar had suffered.
