God I love this game and this tactic.

Im about to play the final game of the season, sitting on 94 points, which would have owned the league any other year... utd are 1st with 96 points. F**K I hope they lose or draw! ahhh

On a side note some good games from this new patch: 8-0 v arsenal, 4-0 barca, 3-1 utd FA cup final. Playing City in the final in about 10 mins.

Ive noticed more than ever the importance of the AMC being a second striker... Isco is great but is getting caught out a bit more now... need to find the new lampard!
 
Just thought I'd post another update regarding this tactic, simply because it's really, really turned the whole season around for me, to the point where I'm now in a CL spot:



Not only am I delighted with the tactic, but also chuffed that I've got the perfect strategy when it comes to player instructions, which are effective not only at home, but also just as successful away aswell. The last time I used my own formation, was the Southamption match. The Villa game was the first time I used it, along with a complete overhaul of all player instructions and it's just great stuff. I'll finish the season before posting a more indepth post on my team guide regarding player instructions as there may, or not be changes to the squad due to the transfer window reopening.

Great stuff TBH-great tactic and suits the Everton squad to a T

Also worth noting that the GD was at one point -12 and now it's much much better

It's taken a lot of pain to get the team to where it is. First season i overspent in jan and it caused 2-3 months of inconsistent performances, 2nd season i didn't reinforce my strikers and spent 2-3 months without one fit and this season it's been just right.

Balls over the defenders has happened to me quite a bit too. They are usually either diagonal across the edge of the box or in to the space your MR would run in to which is handy given i have opted for a more offensive winger. Interestingly, i'm finding that since buying Nasri from city (3.5m, bargain) and playing him as AMC i've scored a lot more and he's consistently assisted over a goal a game. I don't know why this is as his PPMs and stats aren't playmaker quality and contradict what i've found to be useful (he likes to come deep etc) so it's a bit puzzling.
 
Thought I'd give an update on my Liverpool save. Second season has passed and again we captured the FA Cup (against Stoke in the final). Again we came 2nd behind Man City who seem very difficult to know off their perch, personally we never lost against them (1-1 away and 3-1 at home) but other teams seem to struggle. We had a sticky patch around October - November where the players seemed to get overconfident and started playing really silly passes but after New Years we started to pick up again and barring a 2-1 loss away to Chelsea and getting knocked out by Juve in the semi finals of the Champions League, we didn't loose a match. I updated the game with 3 games remaining of the season so couldn't make a fair assesment but after pre-season and a couple of games into the new season (beat Man city 5-0 in the Charity Shield and Chelsea at home 5-1 first game of the season) it feels like this tactic works even better. Possibly that the AMR (I'm using the Assymetic version) is not as effective but still good enough. The ML (Yarmolenko) is tearing things up at the moment on the left and the strikers seem to get into better goalscoring positions too.

I strongly recommend, whenever you get a player sent off, to use TBH's tip of moving the wingback to the actual wingback position and move the AMC over closer to that flank. For me we are still as attacking with 11 men and I've won many a match with only 10 men on the field.

Apart from that, the defensive cornor I posted a while back works really well, I rarely conceed and the counters we sometimes get a really deadly. I haven't found a "perfect" attacking cornors yet so I still use the one in the tactic, I just make sure the cornor taker is one of the players "staying back" so I have near post, far post, short, lurk and keeper all covered.

For the new season staff-wise I've just added more depth (and French incidentally). Capoue, M'Bolhi, Griezmann, Kana-Biyek and Caulker (swapped with Andy Carroll :D) have all joined so now my squad is as follows :

Goalkeepers : Reina + M'Bohli

DR (Wingback) : Johnson + Kelly

DC (Cover) : Skrtel + Caulker

DC (Stopper) : Agger + Kana-Biyek

DL (Fullback) : Enrique + Robinson

DMCR : Melo + Capoue + Allen

MCL : Lucas + Henderson

ML : Yarmolenko + Griezmann

AMR : Belhanda + Sterling + Assaidi (Fans love him so I can't give up the courage to part with him)

AMC : Gerrard + Shelvey

STCL : Suarez + Borini + Bennett

Obviously I've tried to keep with the Liverpool philosophy set by the board that they want to promote through the academy and also trying to keep the squad as English as I can. Ibe and McLaughlin are coming through well so possibly next season looking to profit off of Assaidi and Johnson and get a new AMC in to replace Gerrard as depending on Shelvey would not be ideal, he just isn't as good.
 
Second season with Villa just finished. Was using mainly this tactic - not only, but appr. 80%. What can I say? Not saying anything, better to let this image to speak:

Building a mentally strong team is really a key plus micro-managing carefully and patiently. Basically none of my players don't have and will never have low rating in determination, teamwork, workrate, decision and also concentration. It's only possible to play succesful pressing game with this kind of bunch.

Also quite noteworthy: I did receive only one red card through all the season. It came in last game, title decider vs Arsenal when Reo-Coker boiled over. It didn't change a thing though, we still won the game 2-0 and showed Citeh their place :)

Now starting to think how to develop the team - it'll be really **** difficult. Group has gelled nicely together, at the same time that's the best time to make some money from selling f.e. Bent (scored 19 in the league).

If anyone needs some other input or screenies, just ask: I'm happy enough to contribute.

undoubtedly, it is just that certain positions play slightly better whilst others play slightly worse than before. Overall there isn't any major shift either way.

I think that when looking at top 1-9 teams, you will get the same amount of points alhtough the scores might be a little lower( more 2-0 than 5-1 etc), When using 10-20 teams, then matches away from home will be harder du to the team talks having changed a bit and until one gets them right again, one will struggle a bit more.

I have done similar however i only moved mentality to around the midway point so 10 or so notches and i did not give them a free role. It seems to provide some creative width from that flank where previously the majority of assists came from the MR/L
 
why is there nothing that displays what role each player is on the tactics screen(E.G BWM set to defend or WG set to support)?

there invisible..........or am i just going mad??
 
which player do you replace if getting someone sent off? ive been taking off the amc?
