***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

I'm going to give the new tactic a pop with a fresh new game. Maybe my team were just too used to the old way of playing?

Anyone have any suggestions who I should test it with? I'm thinking West Ham who have no cash whatsoever so it'll be a challenge ;)

Actually scratch that, SI have released a data update today so I'll be starting a new game with Liverpool with the new signings. Yay! :)

If using the new versions, I would probably use a "middle version" of the two released ones. Why not use the latest one and simply reduce the tempo slightly, use the offside trap and use mixed passing for the DMC.

For now I'm just going to keep it as it is and tweak as I go along. tbh with Allen as DMC I don't honestly mind if he has direct passing because he has the "Plays short passes" PPM so he'll the majority of the time play short but if there is a good direct opportunity he'll take it.

I've also found an attacking cornor set-up I'm comfortable with which I don't think is exploit but provides a decent amount of chances. Cornor's obviously taken to near post because we don't really have an excellent cornor-taker at Pool. Gerrard's good but not great.

GK (Reina) Default
DR (Johnson) Back
Stopper (Skrtel) Keeper
Cover (Agger) Attack Near Post
DL (Enrique) Back
DM (Allen) Back
MC (Lucas) Lurk
MR (Assaidi) Short
AMC (Gerrard) Forward (Cornor Taker)
AML (Suarez) Attack Ball From Deep
FC (Sturridge) Stand on Far Post

It's not a lot of changes from the original set up but I think if you ***** your players you can get some good routine's going. I like this one because it means my best cornor taker takes the cornor to the near post, Agger, who is quick fast, attacks the near post, Skrtel who is strong holds off the keeper, Sturridge, who is a little like a poacher, is on the far post incase the ball drops there, Suarez is running from a deeper position and will drag markers with him but he also has good OTB and anticipation so he could run onto any balls. Lucas is outside the box to pick up on cleared balls and most of the time feeds it back out to the cornor taker for a second pop. Finally Assaidi is short in case the ball comes out from the near post so he can charge into the box.

Worth mentioning as well if you have two good cornor takers with diffrent feet then I'd have both of them as "Back if needed" and set them on diffrent cornors. Hitting cornors to near post it's always better to have left on right and right on left.

So interestingly, since the data update the original tactic seems to have stopped working literally over night for me. Now i don;t have the ideal players for the squad yet having started a new save with Norwich however there are noticable differences in defence. Firstly both CBs seem to be tracking/marking the same player, secondly, when attacking the players have began 'tackling' each other in the final third.

I know that it wasn't a patch so it's probably a bug in my game but i thought it was interesting enough to see if anyone else has had it happen?

Hi TBH. I am testing your tactic with Brighton. I was in the second season with Liverpool and I thought I need bigger challenge so I added second manager to the game and took over Brighton who where 10th in the Championship. At the beginning I used my Liverpool tactics based on tactic creator and shouts and they worked really well I won playoffs and been promoted. So now I am in the third season of the game with Liverpool and first full season with Brighton. I tried your tactic with Liverpool and it did not work (but I didn't stick with it for long) so I came back to my previous tactics, but with Brighton it was different story despite changing tactic in September and having main striker (Paloschi) and attacking midfielder (Drage) injured for 4 months. After 10 games Brighton (media prediction 20th) is seventh with 14 points beating the likes of Arsenal 3:1 at home and Sunderland 3:2 away. Most of the goals were conceded after individual errors or set pieces (I had to change whole back line because the players I started with were poor, old and running out of contracts). With 17 mln pounds I had to buy not only new defence but second goalkeeper and players to every formations so I bought average players. Anyway so far so good. Left attacking midfielder provides a lot of key passes and if you have defensive midfielder who likes to go forward it is a big plus because he will arrive from deep and score goals. I let you know how things are going later in the season.

hi thb, im an admirer of this tactic, im currently starting the gme with wolves in the championship. im planning to use ur tactic with two dmc instead of two mc, do u think this will hav an effect on the result of the tactic? also which version should i mainly use with wolves in the championship? - cautious? attack? or counter?

thank you so much!!

its awesome tactic mate im played semi final for champions league and won turkish super league:D

TBH, do you think dropping one of the 3 forwards into the AMC position would work? Then the two attackers would be SC and SLC.
What do you think?

TBH,how could I tweak this tactic to implement 2 strikers? I have seen that you have some similarities with the 4-3-3,3-4-3 assymetric. How could I move the AML into the SC possition?

Hey TBH,
I just have a few questions, but first i'll fill you in. I just finished my first season with Arsenal, winning the league and both domestic cups, missing out on champions League through a fault on my behalf. This is the first time i played an entire full season with a tactic that i made myself, i only used one all season, only changing the mentality depending on the game. After a full season of it i thought it would be best to change it a little or infact make a new tactic altogether, (i'm not to sure how adaptive the AI is).

This is what i used all last season, i'm currently in pre-season :

I scored 67 goals with this tactic and conceded 27.
You can see all my squad, i just picked my preferred first 11 (minus alaba, i just bought him)

and this is the one i'm working on :

As you can see, i don't touch the sliders, because i'm not the best at changing it up. When i'm an underdog i usually just play counter and rigid but i thought it would be a time for change, because i think the AI might have caught onto my tactic but i don't want to start chopping and changing what i'm not too good at.

What would you recommend i do, stick to what has worked or try something new? Any help at all would be appreciated, tweak the sliders or whatever it may be.

Cheers,

Don't like this tactic, now I've got to give Neuer 50k for every clean sheet, its eating into my savings!!!

Great job man!

tbh Check out these tweaks ->

D-Line 3 clicks higher
Width 2 clicks higher then narrow
Tempo 5 clicks from the right (slow)
DMC passing 1 click into mixed from Short
MC passing 2 clicks lower then first Direct
Remove HUB on DC

So far so good for me :)

Awesome!

One little question... I'm playing with Bernard as AML, but the results don't make me completely satisfied... is the right kind of player for this tactic? Thank you

(sorry for my bad english)
