***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

So, i wasnt seeing nothing wrong, because its wrong! :D great!

I will try to chek this at home and to give your so beloved screeshot.

Btw, why not use target man for counter attacks?

Because it makes the play too one dimensional. If you have one that is much, much better than the rest of the players, the do it. Otherwise, there is no point.

BTH, i've tried the patient mode and... not liked a bit. The players just keep running up the field and left the midfield unprotected...

Well, the patient version is when you as an underdog ( like Doncaster ) face à poor team ( like leyton orient), its not to use when you are à top team and face bottom teams ( like playing as Man U playing against à team that is still à good one, like Bolton etc )

I was using it with my Junior sqaud in the nextgen final against PSG. I was the underdog and they where a better team...

So i can only use the low pressure and the high pressure?

Then naturally you struggle using that version. I cant explained it better then I have already done in the opening post. Its when you as à underdog team suddenly is the faar superior team, like when playing as Wigan, facing Bristol Rovers in the cup, NOT when using your youth players in à match against à powerhouse like PSG.

Beta version of a 4411 for Middleteams and Topteams that is very similair to the HIgh Press version in the other formations but here, there is only one version, a mixture between the high and the lower press. I have trid this with bottom teams as well and it does not work at all.

Normal flat 4 at the back
MCleft - Advanced playmaker,MCright Box2BOx,
Wingers - Wide midfielders that moves into channels
AMC: A Holding TQ
FC - Poacher

Remember that this is a pure plug & play

Hey, i've been using the low press version of the 42121 almost exclusively. I create a few goals but the majority seem to be coming from corners and IFK. My media prediction was 16th and I'm top of the league in january with one of my players playing incredibly well up front, thanks for the great tactic!

Anyone had any success with the 4-1-2-2-1 as it seems to still be in Beta stage???

Consider all formations as " Gold" versions. Basiclly, its only the patient versions that might need some tweaking but those tweaks needs to suit the team rather than being uploaded as new versions. I have used both the Narrow Diamond and the 451 with great results, both using middleteams and underdogs.

What Ive got so far is that against opposition where im underdogs; then I should use the Low Press. If I'm favourites; High Press. Then Patient Stretching should be used when looking to slow the game down?

You've said you don;t use OIs; but i'm a firm believer that they are very useful to fill in any weaknesses of a tactic; so do you have any to recommend?

You use Lower press as the main version and High press when you feel the team has the ability or really need to put more pressure on the opponent. Patient stretch is when you play with à smaller side against à poor team( like Doncaster versus Orient)

As for OI's I recommend that you use it only when you understand how the tactic works and what weakness you are trying to blank out. If using tight mark/ always, then you actually change the marking system. If you use close down/always, never, then you change the closing down system. If using show onto foot, then you need to know where this places your player( Inside or outside Of the opponent)

New links are up in the Opening post to the 5 underdog formations

I haven't played a football management sim since CM4 (I think) and was bought FM2012 as a gift a couple of weeks ago. I was at a bit of a loss tactically so had a scout around before finding this. I decided to try something a little different so took over at Swindon Town in nPower League 2. I made only one signing of Pablo Counago since I wasn't overly impressed by those available. I would have used the Czech player (can't remember his name) but he was on loan at Banik Ostrava).

Well it was an amazing season. I am unable to add screenshots as the game is installed on another machine. I finished top amassing 112 points and scoring a lot of goals. My AMR/AML/CF scored over 20 a piece (despite the CF having a few injuries). Oddly enough my DCR scored over 20 goals too, attacking the near post from corners mostly.

There were some excellent results too, beating Cardiff 4-1 and Arsenal 5-0 in the League Cup before losing to Brighton. I had one or two difficult games, I recall AFC Wimbledon giving me trouble with a 4-4-2 playing a diamond formation which I didn't seem able to counter.

Overall I have had good results in this first season and hope it continues into nPower League 1. Admittedly it will be tough since the club finances aren't good (too many loans) and I am having to resort to losing players whose wage demands are too high but have managed to pick up a few good young players on loan. Also need to pick up some decent staff which is proving difficult.

Thanks for the tactic.

Those are some really good results. If you shold find that this tactic is too attacking, have a look in my Tactic thread in the stickies and perhaps use one of the underdog tactics ( the plug & play ones). They might be a better choice as you climb the ladder on the way to the prem.
