***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

Thanks a bunch TBH , i'll have a few tweeks into now and try it over the weekend and get back to you.

And by free roles , do you mean " Automatic " or is there another issue?

No, I mean that they should roam, setting their free role to "yes". This way, they will look for space away from their position, here out wide

352 DIRECTCOUNTER

Here is a early beta of a 352, one high press and one lower press version, just like in the other plug & play tactcs. This is mainly for middleteams and topteams as i dont think that a poor team can play this approach.

FCleft-poacher: FCright Defensive or deep FC
AMC: Holding TQ
Wingers - huges the touchline, needs to be able to defend to
DMC: hardworking with both good positioning and off the ball and passing skills
DCcenral-Ballplaying DC - Outer DCs-normal ones

I have to say this is one of the most succesful and enjoyable tactics out there. What I like about it the most is that it uses a realistic formation and sensible settings to create a beautiful, fast type of football wich at times reminds me a bit of real life Real Madrid. The results have been great so far, and I will post some screenshots once the season is over.

There is only one thing I am thinking might be improved. I am not entirely convinced by the AMC settings. Considering the formation and overall philosophy* the AMC should be the fulcrum of creativity for your team, but in my experience this is not the case. I have tried different types of players here, from more creative but slower playmaker types to lightning fast attacking AMCs to deep lying forwards, but none of them excelled, none of them really did enough in terms of assists, key passes or goals.

It may well be that I am using the wrong players, but I have a feeling that there is just something not quite right about the AMC. Perhaps the creative freedom or mentality settings, because he just doesn't seem very keen to play enough ambitious through balls. Most of my team's assists, not counting set pieces, come either from the wingers or the two MCs after breaking up an attack.

*(not in strict FM terms, I am refering to the fact that this tactic is essentially playing transition football)

What team are you using it with?

Malaga, first season, but with lots of signings. The players I've tried as AMC are Cazorla (mainly), Buonanotte, Willian, Jenssen, Maresca and Siem De Jong. I am currently second, 2 points behind Barca, with 6 games to go and already qualified for the CL.

It may well be that I lack a true poacher to constantly try to break the defensive line and in the process create more space for the trequartista. Either way, it's not that my AMC isn't playing well, it's just that he never plays as well as the wingers and striker, and offers less assists that either wingers or MCs.

I Have played another 14 matches with Leicester ( top notch team as I am in 2015/16), 10 matches with Arsenal, 10 matches with Chelsea, 10 matches with Pool and 10 with Spurs, all having exploitingly good results. Have also played 8 matches with Villa, 8 with Everton and 8 with Stoke, sitting 2nd, 3rd and top. Have also tried it with Wigan, Blackburn and Bolton and here we struggle big time. So this will deffo be à Top team/ Middle team plug & play. It will work with underdogs by reputation as long as you have à determined squad with pacey Fullbacks and strikers but then again, I would not call these teams underdogs as such.

Will upload the tactic along with 4 other asymmetric ones ( being slightly tweaks Of this one) late tonight

As I'm starting a new carreer save with a topteam, I would love to have a sneak preview already (on my own responsability haha :D)

But of course, you decide when you want to upload it! But if you're interested in an extra test before you release tonight, I'm ready.

Will send the tactic when I get back to my hotell(!) and My computor ( at My iphone now)

Any idea when that will be m8?

Yes now :D , sorry for the delay. Will write the post Wednesday night.

In short, here it is

FCLeft - Defensive FC /support
FCCentral - Quick poacher
FCright - Limited TQ

MCr and MCl, both normal Mcs, one with more creative freedom

DMC - DMC on support

Fullbacks/Wingbacks - The Right has the wingback(t-balls) setting and the left the fullback(crossing). Use what you see fit depending on the players at hand. I switch depending on what players I use.

I have also uploaded my Narrow Diamond For top teams. (As you see, the 4123 is based on that and I have just moved the AMC int FCright)

@ TBH

Could you help me with a bit of the team instructions and player instructions and any other tips. It is taking from the Italian Formation vs Spain

Thanks

Not really as I did not watch the game with focus. Also, the 352 formations works higly differentg in FM than in real life and its really hard to emulate. One would have to tweak and tweak until getting it correct by using illogical settings along with using the correct players ( mental stats and ppms)
