first match in PL away against reading
lost 5-2,played terrible,don't know whats going on
 
Yep, it's all looking good.

Before I implemented this tactic I'd been playing 4-1-2-1-2 with Newcastle for half a season, but with some struggles Doing okay, hovering around the European places, but some frustrating results losing to QPR, Soton and Sunderland (board not happy!). Having said that, Beat Man Utd, City and Chelski, all 1-0. Not letting many in, but not scoring at all either.

Then in January (1st season) I've changed to this with all the tweaks, and it's made quite a difference. My settled team has performed quite well. Couple of 4-0's, a 3-1 and a 3-3 against Liverpool. Like you said, needs a settled team. Changed 10 players for a cup game at Hull, and we were destroyed.

Must say I'm struggling with possession. Getting less than 50%, but I guess that will come with time.

All in all, good tactic and thanks for the work on it. Will report back when the seasons complete and lets see if I can beat Spurs and Stoke(!?!) to that 4th place!

i use arsenal,, bought gotze, hamsik, lamela, and isco..at my first season i use 451 fluid counter and 42121 fluid control,, landed on 6th position...and my team keep conceeding in every match,, never cleansheet,, and lack of goals...please help me...what should i do on my tactics...
 
I have Sidney Sam from leverkusen in my squad. Is it possible that he can play as a DLF either att or supp? I bought him and he scored many goals for me using him as an advanced forward in a previus tactic. If he cant play as a DLF can i switch him to poacher and untick switch positions with the other DLF?

I just tried it and it works like a charm. The advanced forward is capable of moving into channels or hug the line and cross easily to the DLF. Then easy goal for the striker. Try it and tell me if it works for you too.

Well, to me it looks like the instructions are the same for both DLF and AF so I dont think it makes any difference!

I'm with Liverpool in first season. I look at your advice's and try to look at everything before try to implement a new tactic (ppm's, better roles, etc). I want to play a 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 using different approaches (like your set's), but try to always be in the control of the game (like Mourinho, even when he play's with a deep d-line, is always with the game control). I don't wanna play with other users tactic's because I think that makes things less enjoyable.

But I'm with some difficulties. I always use the TC to create the tactics and tweak where I think it's the best. But the other teams always get me passed with counter-attacks, stupid mistakes that my defenders make, etc. I try to reduce their mentality, setting their passing to low, etc. I see other users tactic to try to understand where am I failing (tight marking, for example). It really doesn't work. The same thing happens with the attacking part. Player's like Gerrard (playing as MC with attack mentality or Attacking Midfield), Suarez (DLF, AC, IF), Assaidi, Borini, Sahin simply doesn't perform.

So... Do you think it is best create the tactics in TC, using shouts, and don't tweak that much? Because I see many tactics with few tweaks and appears they work; the defensive sistem is better with tight marking or not? In 'pool example, I think they have good defenders to do that, but they always get passed!

I'm a patient guy and I've tried different things over and over. This game is so good, the ME is so evolved that is a pity throw all to garbage. I think that if others can do I will make it possible too! :)

Hi Joao

I am managing Liverpool as well and I am having similar problems - trying different tactics, players don't perform, defensive mistakes etc. but what I was always looking for is attractive style of football. I have always admired The Better Half because of his use of different approaches to the game. There is plenty of good advices in his threds. There is no magic tactic in FM 13 as you well know but if you want to play 'pass and move' football with Liverpool you can try play narrow 4231 using control or counter approach, depending on situation or where you play obvieously. Most of the instructions you can leave it on default except passing(short),run with the ball (sometimes) and long shots (rarely). I use two ball winning midfielders to keep possesion and win a ball back (Lucas and Joe Allen mostly, but really you have to strenght this position later) and advanced playmaker - Jonjo or Sahin because they come deep to get the ball and make space for attacking midfielders. Attacking midfielders and advanced forward. Well at the start you have only Borini and Suarez really to play as a striker. Players like Sterling, Assaidi, Downing train as a AMC. I play Borini because he is better finisher and Suarez is better passer so he plays as a attacking midfielder. Away from home I use fullback on defence duty with crossing and through ball set to sometimes and on attack duty when I play control tactic. I usually use fullbacks to mark opponents wide players because they are your main threat. Team instruction: narrow witdh and normal tempo, defensive line on default (control or counter), passing through the middle. Passing set to short and in players instructions set to 5-6 clicks from left. Anyway, my point is try narrow 4231 and check flow of the football it provides, it is really enjoyable, and yes you will concede goals but there is a big chance you will score more then your oposition, because its creating a lot of clear chances.

I'll try to keep this in mind and adapt it on the new save with them lol. I've never played that formation in any FM. It will be a real challenge! But I won't give up lol.
 
Hello, if player is prone to injuries - is it possible to eliminate it somehow (strength training or physios)?

Is any one still using this tactic on the new patch. How has it preformed. Don't seem to be scoring many goals for me any more.
