JANUARY

Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 (Foran 60pen, Stevenson 87)
Aberdeen 3 (Goulon 12, 82, Smith 73)

An entertaining affair! Jonny Hayes set up 2 of the goals against his old side.

--

Heart of Midlothian 3 (Sutton 38, Figueiredo og42, Barr 55)
Aberdeen 2 (Hendrie 64, Robertson 72)

We were awful for the first hour and then we woke up but we gave ourselves far too much to do.

--

Aberdeen 1 (Thomson 36)

Dundee 0

Kris Boyd missed a penalty but it didnt cost us.

--

Aberdeen 1 (Thomson 90)
St. Johnstone 0

Kevin Thomson to the rescue again here. St.Johnstone are rock bottom so I expected to win by a bigger margin.

--

Aberdeen 4 (Boyd 3, Smith 24, Reynolds 39, Goulon 46)

St. Mirren 1 (Thompson 48)

A very nice victory. And a final appearance for the club for two of my players............

--

SUMMARY

A very good month. We won 4 out of the 5 games and played ok. It was all pretty standard stuff to be fair. I got Manchester United as another parent club (nobody has loaned us anyone yet) and Romanian side Sportul Bucharest as a feeder side.

It was all quiet until deadline day................................

BOYD AND HAYES LEAVE ABERDEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 69 games and 66 goals Kris Boyd has been sold to Blackburn Rovers for £1m. His contract was up next season and he was wanting mega money (£12K lol) as befitting a winner of the European Golden Shoe. The only problem was that I was still short of cash to get his replacement so I had to sell Jonny Hayes to Wolves for £750,000. He scored 14 times in 70 appearances for us and impressed but needs must because of this guy....

MADS MYHRMANN
This guy will be world class and will probably join me in my travels. I noticed him in the summer and couldnt afford the £300K to get him then. As it was he cost me £575,000 from FC Nordsjaelland. He will play up front as a target man and I expect big things from the Dane.

My other signings were Oleksandr Yakovenko from Anderlecht on a free transfer to replace Jonny Hayes. My DoF brought in a young Swedish defender, Sebastian Starke Hedlund, from Schalke on a free and I found a decent young Irish keeper in Liam Clancy from Cork City for £85,000.

View attachment 346595View attachment 346596View attachment 346593

I also sold Joe Shaughnessy to Swindon for £40,000.

FEBRUARY

Scottish Communities League Cup SF
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0
Aberdeen 1 (Yakovenko 120)
AET

Better late than never! We had Kevin Thomson sent off early in the 2nd half so I am delighted to get the win.

--

Hamilton Academical 1 (Gillespie 73)
Aberdeen 1 (Considine 60)

I only had 3 first choice players out here so I am pleased with a point.

--

William Hill Scottish Cup 5th Round
Aberdeen 1 (McGowan 45)
Partick Thistle 0

--

Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 42)

Dundee United 0

Myhrmann gets off the mark on his 2nd appearance for the club. Dundee Utd are 3rd in the table - 19pts behind us!

--

Motherwell 2 (Law 38, Higdon 51)
Aberdeen 4 (Myhrmann 26, 45, 69, Ayoze 59)

20 shots on goal is good, 5 on target is bad, 4 goals from 5 on target is excellent!!!!! Myhrmann has well and truly arrived.

--

UEFA Europa League 1st Round 1st Leg
Chievo 0
Aberdeen 0

They had 15 shots to our 1 so I am well chuffed to escape with a draw.

--

Aberdeen 0
Celtic 1 (Brown 12pen)

Thats the title race over. Brown also missed a penalty in the first half for them.

--

UEFA Europa League 1st Round 2nd Leg

Aberdeen 3 (Thomson 34, McGowan 45, 50)
Chievo 1 (Farias 58)
(Aberdeen won 3-1 on aggregate)

WOW!!! I kinda hoped to sneak through but to win so convincingly is a massive boost!

--

SUMMARY

Every month seems to be the same. Lose 1 league game, win the rest and do well in the cups!!! The title race is over after our defeat to Celtic. The onus is now on me to add the 2 or 3 players that is required for us to win the title.

In the cups we will play Celtic in the league cup final, Queen of the South athe Scottish Cup and Wolfsburg in the Europa League.

MARCH

William Hill Scottish Cup QF

Aberdeen 2 (Pawlett 48, McKee 71)
Queen of the South 0

A professional performance. We never even allowed them a shot on goal! New youth intake player Bill Noble made his debut here.

--

UEFA Europa League 2nd Round 1st Leg

Wolfsburg 3 (Dost 15, 37, Perisic 50)
Aberdeen 2 (Smith 25, Pawlett 79)

Those two away goals could prove to be crucial. We played quite well and could have came away with a draw but never mind.

--

Scottish Communities League Cup Final
Aberdeen 3 (Smith 8, Myhrmann 22, Goulon 73)
Celtic 0

WE RETAIN THE CUP!!!! To be fair Celtic fielded a weakened side so I expected victory when I saw the teamsheets and my players did magnificently. It was an even game to be fair but we were ruthless in front of goal.

--

UEFA Europa League 2nd Round 2nd Leg
Aberdeen 1 (Thomson 55)
Wolfsburg 0
(Agg 3-3, Aberdeen win on away goals)

Somehow we scrape through once again! We were excellent here and deserved to go through in the end. This run is getting stupid though!

--

Kilmarnock 0

Aberdeen 0

After 5 or 6 consecutive cup games we came back to league action in a boring affair.

--

Aberdeen 3 (Pawlett 71, McGowan 81, McManus 83)
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 (Ross 87)

I have decided to play my backups to rest my first picks for the big games up ahead.

--

Dundee 1 (Baird 24)
Aberdeen 3 (Smith 5, 44, Noble 70)

Young Bill Noble broke the record in being both ours and the leagues youngest scorer here.

--

SUMMARY

Its quite hard to pick a highlight this month!! The cup final win or progression in Europe? We were excellent this month and fully deserved our trophy and a place in the Europa League quarter finals. In the Scottish Cup we will play Kilmarnock in the semis and in the Europa League we will play Celtic of all teams!!!

Our youth intake was not bad and we had one standout player in Bill Noble who has already featured in the first team.

APRIL

UEFA Europa League QF 1st Leg

Aberdeen 2 (Thomson 32, Yakovenko 62)
Celtic 1 (Watt 82)

I am delighted that we have something to hold on to for the 2nd leg but I am so disappointed at conceding the late goal.

--

Aberdeen 3 (McGowan 62, Kennedy 69, Noble 79)
Heart of Midlothian 1 (Skacel 87)

Once again I am resting my first picks for the Europa League and once again the backups did a fine job!

--

Ross County 4 (Glen 13, Lawson 22, Wohlfarth 40pen, 52pen)
Aberdeen 2 (Noble 7, 50)

OUCH!!!! To be fair my youngsters and backups have been excellent all season and this is the first poor result they have had. Bill Noble is certainly impressing though!!!

--

UEFA Europa League QF 2nd Leg

Celtic 0
Aberdeen 0
(Aberdeen win 2-1 on aggregate)

WOW!!!!! I cant believe I have led Aberdeen into a European semi final in only the 2nd season. I was without a couple of players as it was and when Osbourne got sent-off I went ultra defensive, racked up the time wasting and just hoped that we could hold on - AND WE DID!!!!

--

St. Johnstone 1 (May 63)
Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 30)

We werent quite at it in this game and could have lost it had Sifakis not saved a penalty. Understandable I suppose.

--

William Hill Scottish Cup SF
Aberdeen 5 (Goulon 22, 66, Hendrie 35, Yakovenko 65, 68)
Kilmarnock 2 (Gros 26, Johnston 32)

Into another final we go as 3 goals in as many 2nd half minutes killed off Killie. Yakovenko also missed a penalty for his hat-trick.

--

UEFA Europa League SF 1st Leg

Bayer Leverkusen 3 (Kiessling 2, Leo 5, 27)
Aberdeen 0

And there endeth the adventure!!!! lol. The other teams in the semis are Liverpool and Porto so there was not a chance we were going to win the cup.

--

Aberdeen 2 (Myhrmann 13, 50)

Kilmarnock 1 (Dayton 44)

Not quite as exciting as the cup semi but it is a win after all. Kennedy had a goal disallowed for us.

--

SUMMARY

Celtic may have wrapped up the title this month but we knocked them out of Europe and after winning the League Cup we have a chance of beating them in the Scottish Cup final too!

I am so proud of my teams performances in the Europa League. I cant believe it really and the extra finance will come in handy too no doubt. Its just a pity it wasnt the Champions League!

That's an unbelievable achievement to reach the Europa League semi finals in just the second season, well done mate! How long are you planning staying at Aberdeen? Does doing so well with the club not make you want to stay?

MAY - END OF SEASON

Bayer Leverkusen 2 (Kiessling 22, Milik 90)

(Bayer Leverkusen win 5-1 on aggregate)

Meh

--

Motherwell 1 (Law 34)
Aberdeen 3 (Yakovenko 22, McKee 32pen, Randolph og73)

An impressive performance considering all my league fixtures are meaningless now.

--

Aberdeen 2 (Pawlett 67, Noble 90)
St. Mirren 0

--

Celtic 1 (Watt 13)

Aberdeen 1 (Noble 2)

I am beginning to think we have the measure of Celtic now............

--

Ross County 1 (Wohlfarth 83)
Aberdeen 1 (Storrie 32)

Russell Anderson made his last appearance for the club here.

--

William Hill Scottish Cup Final

Celtic 0
Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 86)

THE CUP DOUBLE IS OURS!!!!! Myhrmann is the hero as he struck late on to win us the cup. Thats 3 trophies in 2 seasons and one European semi.

--

SUMMARY

For the month it was highly successful. We were never going to knock out Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League so I wasnt too disappointed to exit that cup. We saw out the league campaign fairly unremarkably with the performances of young Bill Noble being the highlight and in the Scottish Cup we sneaked it.

Overall this season has been a magnificent success. To win the cup double and have such a long run in Europe was beyond my wildest dreams at the start of the season. Financially the club is in a much stronger position and with the likes of Smith, Myhrmann, Hendrie and Noble in the team the future is looking good.

I havent had any job offers yet and unless one of 2 club jobs become available then I will stay here until the SPL is won.

Well that is the plan anyways lol

Well done on the cup double! Great work as always. SPL next year? Let's hope so seem to have got the hang of it now.

Congrats on the cup double mate. Next year has to be your year for the title. Good luck.

Once again I have been silently reading.

Congratulations on the Cup Double, and a very impressive Europa League run! Think you can get the SPL next year or do you think it needs longer?

Hi Klippybo, havent commented thus far, but great story as per!!! ... What are you planning to do career wise in this story?

I will try and post the pre-season update today peeps

PRE-SEASON/JULY/AUGUST

Lets kick off with things personally. After the World Cup I actually got appointed manager of no less than 5 countries!!! Firstly I took the Switzerland job, then Slovenia, then Uruguay, followed by Australia and I have finally ended up in Colombia!!!

To be honest I decided international management wasnt really on my agenda just now so by going Colombia I wont have any games and will pick up the Spanish language and go!

Win a cup and edge closer to Celtic in the league
Get through the Group Stages in the Europa League

PLAYERS IN

I actually splashed the cash! All £400K of it lol. I brought in beanpole striker Tomislav Soldo from Dinamo for £250,000 and spent £150,000 on 3 young Scottish regens John Paul Irvine, Allan Sibanda and Steven Martin.

I managed to bring in Polish international Kamil Grosicki from Sivasspor on a free while also coming in on free transfers are two youngsters Florian Heinrich and Bas de Bree.

PLAYERS OUT
Club captain Russell Anderson retired and his vice captain Andrew Considine was sold to Brighton for £575,000. Ayoze went over to Rangers in the First Division for £475,000 while Craig Murray, Daniele Gabriele and Jamie Masson were sold for a total of £50,000.

I sent Declan McManus, Danny Rogers and Sean Hume to Peterhead and I released Craig Gordon.

NEW STAFF
Former Hearts manager John McGlynn is my new assistant manager and former player Eoin Jess has came in as a coach. There were some other slight changes but they were the main two.

--

SQUAD SUMMARY

Regarding the first team there isnt a lot of change. Grosicki will be my RW and thats the only change. My team is stronger than last year mainly due to the continual development of my youngsters Hendrie, Smith and Myhrmann.

I still think the title will be too much to ask for though this season.

UEFA Europa League 2nd Qual Round 1st Leg

Aberdeen 4 (Figueiredo 21, Reynolds 54, McGowan 68, J.Thomson 90)

Xazar 0

A comfortable win against the team from Azerbaijan. 16y/o Joe Thomson scored his first goal for the club. No relation to Kevin obviously since he is a regen.

--

UEFA Europa League 2nd Qual Round 2nd Leg

Xazar 0
Aberdeen 2 (Myhrmann 33, 78)
(Aberdeen win 6-0 on aggregate)

--

UEFA Europa League 3rd Qual Round 1st Leg

Aberdeen 2 (Noble 33, McGowan 37)
Teplice 0

A decent win I suppose.

--

UEFA Europa League 3rd Qual Round 2nd Leg

Teplice 0
Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 65)
(Aberdeen win 3-0 on aggregate)

Myhrmann also missed a penalty here.

--

Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 2)
Heart of Midlothian 0

This is quite a poor result tbh. We took an early lead and they had Grainger sent-off moments later but we couldnt add to the scoreline. They even had a goal disallowed.

--

Motherwell 0

Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 7)

Once again we benefit from the opposition having a goal disallowed.

--

UEFA Europa League Playoff 1st Leg

Aberdeen 1 (Smith 17)
Metalurg Donetsk 0

Metalurg have players valued at £7m so this was a good result. Our defence has been amazing this month.

--

Hamilton Academical 0
Aberdeen 2 (McGowan 53, Reynolds 77)

--

UEFA Europa League Playoff 2nd Leg

Metalurg Donetsk 1 (Polovyi 53)
Aberdeen 1 (Myhrmann 84)
(Aberdeen win 2-1 on aggregate)

We sneak through the hard way. Osbourne got sent-off early on and it was backs to the wall stuff from then on in. Myhrmann spared us extra time with his late strike. Oh and they had a goal disallowed lol.

--

SUMMARY

A successful start to the season as we won every game and progressed in Europe. Although we havent been banging in the goals our defence has been on top form and Sifakis is collecting loads of clean sheets as he only conceded 1 goal in 9 games.

Stephen Hendrie won his first cap for Scotland while Cammy Smith was called up but didnt play.

In the league cup we will play Partick Thistle and in the Europa League we have been drawn in the same group as Dynamo Kiev, Sporting Lisbon and Hoffenheim - EEEKKKK!!!!!

SEPTEMBER

Aberdeen 3 (Myhrmann 32, 67, McKee 76)
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 1 (Stevenson 61)

Myhrmann missed a penalty here. He has started this season on fire!!!!

--

Aberdeen 2 (Reynolds 73, Soldo 90)

St. Mirren 1 (Driver 13)

We left it late but we got the goals required to keep up our 100% record.

--

UEFA Europa League Group G

Hoffenheim 1 (Abraham 8)

Aberdeen 2 (Smith 65, Biseswar 89)

A massive win!!!!! We were excellent and deserved the 3pts. Biseswar struck a long range effort despite his fitness level being at 29% to score the winner on his debut.

--

Scottish Communities League Cup 3rd Round

Aberdeen 2 (Heinrich 65, McGowan 90)
Partick Thistle 0

We seem to be specialising in late goals at the moment!!!!

--

Hibernian 2 (Craig 46, Cairney 73)
Aberdeen 5 (Yakovenko 16, Myhrmann 18, 30, Smith 63, Soldo 90)

Another last minute goal lol. We could have got double figures here as we played them off the park.

--

SUMMARY

A fantastic month. We are level top in the league with a game in hand and won our first game in the group stage of the Europa League. I was hoping for 6 or 7 points at home and maybe sneak a point or two away so to win our first away game puts us in a great position for the games ahead.

Anywho I signed 2 new players. Jamie Ness came in on loan from Stoke City. I had agreed a £70,000 fee to buy him outright but his wages were too high and Diego Biseswar came in on a free transfer and got the winning goal on his debut.
