Apologies. I didn't want to name any, it was obvious when i posted something in CAPS.. ;)

madridsta and sunil, take your city debate to VM or a city thread if there is one

I thought that was relevant to the current discussion.. Anyways VM is not worth it Mike ;).. I will leave this here..

People seem to have gone off track regarding Andy's 'question' about Chelsea - City. It wasn't about them being similar at the moment, it was about Sanchez and if he woudn't go to City why would he go to Chelsea.

Well firstly, Chelsea are more established than City in the past few years. Continuously challenge on all fronts every year whilst City have just got into the top 4. Could that not sway his decision if he had to pick between the two clubs?

Secondly, AVB's fresh approach he's said to be bringing to Chelsea with attacking football may make him favour Chelsea as that's what he most admired about Barcelona.

But you can also argue that City's future is looking bright and they will also be challenging for honours every year, but we don't know that yet.

It wasn't about which team is bigger/better at the moment. Of course that comes into play when a player is choosing is choosing a team, but you have all gone way off the point.

No, it's just you don't act like you're 24.

this is a forum mate;] how could i possibly act.. in person im way calmer, cuz im able to talk, i guess. here i have to write and ... its harder to express your opinion by typing on the **** keyboard ;p whatever. forget it;]

Just sifted through all that ****, it was quite comical, I have to say.

I'd rather not stir up the debate again, but I just have to have my say (A). I have to say that Chelsea would be a much bigger draw if I were a player, even though there's probably not a lot between the two clubs.

* London is a massive draw for a foreign player. Manchester is not (well at least the blue half ;))
* Chelsea have been consistently competing for every trophy they have entered for some time now. Although I expect City to improve again, Chelsea's consistency is an attraction.
* The signing of AVB is another big draw. Mancini has been (often wrongly) accused of negative football, whereas AVB is known to play ambitious, attacking, free-flowing football.
* Competition for a place / squad rotation is probably less of an issue at Chelsea, although I'd expect a player like Sanchez to walk into either team right now.

And the 'the issue of an aging squad is getting boring now' arguement is quite redundant. Every club has issues that are constantly discussed, and it happens in every thread. Whether it be Arsenal's lack of spending/trophies, United's lack of money, City's extravagant spending, Liverpool's new transfer policy etc. Every club has something that is discussed a lot, and it's because it is a major problem or issue that needs to be addressed. You can't just sweep it under the carpet and forget about it.

Mate, this debates happen coz some of you lot dont respond properly for any point raised in this thread, instead retort of childish insults.

See for ex. this happened when Andy said there was not much difference between Chelsea and City and he made few points. You lot could have countered with valid points instead of turning on CAPS and saying U ******* KIDDING ME, CHELSEA DA BEST, WITH CHELSEA THEY HAVE THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE..

if you are quoting me here, look again.

Your right he put in some punctuation.
Shame on you Sunil

Finally I get a reply from a Chelsea fan. Was it that hard?

Think JD sums up the argument perfectly, so need to debate the issue any further.

In fairness Zola played good football first season, not his fault the Hammers players couldnt give two *****

Maybe but you have to agree the type of football Boas likes is the carbon copy of what Di Matteo likes to play. Could be a match made in heaven.

On the Sanchez situation. Is there much difference between City and Chelsea? Both good squads, both playing champions league and both capable of paying big wages. If he doesn't want to join City would he want to join Chelsea?

I think there is yer, Chelsea are a much more established side for a starters. New manager brings new fresh ideas, less players in his position so more chance of games and the list does go on by JDY explained it nicely.

Maybe....but City have invested alot in the youth academy and facilities in the past 3 years. And now they have started to sign good young promising players to their academy. Karim Rekik, Denis Suarez etc...and are in talks of signing many young players. Bit like Chelsea...altought Chelseas success under Frank Arnesen wasn't very good.

And your spine is old...Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Cech has been your spine for several years and their all something like 33. Some young players but you need to rebuild.

Success under Arnesen wasent good?? Seriously??? Our youth team has reached atleast the Semi Finals of the FA youth cup 3 times in the last 4 years reaching the final twice and winning one of them. The final we lost was against Man City but thanks to who??? Yes thats right CHELSEA'S Daniel Sturridge.

Only Lampard and Drogba are 33, Terry is 30 and Cech is 29 and as we know keepers can go on for longer so he may have 10years left in him yet. I firmly believe Lampard can play at the top level for another 2-3 years and likewise for Drogba although i think this season will be his last at Chelsea. Ok Terry is not as good as he was 4-5 years ago but he is still better than most and we bought David Luiz who is only 24 remember. Like i said the other day i firmly believe people make way to much of the so called ageing players at Chelsea.

Obviously dont know the two Portugese lads but very happy with Di Matteo and Holland has done alot of good work too winning the reserve league last season. Heard many interviews with him in the last few years and like his approach. Looking at it i wasent happy when they sacked Paul Clement but i can see why he has done this now, Clement was the old Chelsea i.e strong physical get the ball to Drogba approach. But Di Matteo and Holland like to play football the so called attractive way.

As the legend that is Roberto Di Matteo has returned to SW6 i thought i would post some of my favourite goals (or ones i could actually find) from the Swiss born Italian.

in fairness the same topics spring up on all threads. we just spend 50m, people still question as to whether we have any money. In fairness andy seemed to asking in relation to the sanchez debate

Liking AVB even more after the conference, any word on if he is bringing Falcao?

no word yet

And although I agree wtih you Mike the point is how some people approach these respective topics by saying stuff like Chelsea will be ****** in 5 years etc. That will surely get under your skin if your a Chelsea fan

I rreally dont mind similar topics such as FFP, ageing squad coming up again and again but I would really appreciate it if people approached the topic in a more sensible manner

it goes both ways

it goes both ways

not really... when has the last time u have seen someone coming onto your club discussion thread and saying Man Utd will be ****** in years time I bet even though I dont know their future plans to solve this problem etc.

A good example is that when Rooney was in **** form last year no one really cared but when Torres is in bad form this year everyone is onto him saying he will never regain form etc.

Now dont get me wrong, I am not saying that Chelsea fans are victims, we and I ;) certainly are not innocent either but I do believe that there are a more arguements that spring up on here for pointless reasons than anywhere else
