What has the world come to when a player Chelsea probably couldn't sell to anyone else for ?20m is being sold to PSG for ?40m. Do PSG not understand how bidding for players works?

You really think that no one else would buy him for 20?! He doesn't really have the right partner in either Cahill or Terry but at a club with the right setup he could be pretty amazing.

Glad about it, purely for Barca's sake. Now they might actually have to sign a CB who would suit them

I personally really rate David Luiz but i think his best position is CDM with a bit more freedom and his mistakes may not necessarily lead directly to goals like many mistakes at CB

However, his partnership with Silva for Brazil is very good... ?30mil maximum in my opinion

Itv reporting Lampard has been released from the club on their web portal. Any further on this?

I will miss him but holy **** ?48m is a lot of money. In theory this means we are in for one of the big CMs (pls pls pls pls pls Kroos or Pogba. You sold Mata AND Luiz, Jose: you owe me!)

I ******* want Pogba/Vidal/Martinez with this money. SPLASH THE CASH! With increased revenues, and the money gained in January, we can spend a lot of money this summer.

Also heard United have given Evra an extension? Well chase Shaw then. Go bonkers with that money or I won't forgive our board for the sale of Luiz if they pulled an Arsene Wenger and swept the money under a pillow.

Oh my christ if Chelsea get Kroos and my tongue-in-cheek prediction to Mike comes true (Gyazo - 1167efa5e8f3bb90b955e7e743c074d7.png) I will laugh manaically for days. DAYS.

I gotta admit, I'm finding this quite funny because a couple of years ago I remember quite a few people on this board talking about how Chelsea "weren't a selling club like Arsenal" and succeeded because they "kept their best players".

Two seasons and two top players on their way out later...

Oh you poor downtrodden baby supporting the team that just never quite reaches the upper echelons of the game. My heart BLEEDS for you. :(

Woof. That's not exactly a bargain but Marquinhos is a good ******* player.

The massive difference is that the club wanted to sell them the players didn't force moves mate. You could also make an argument for both Mata and Luiz that they are not fitting the system right now at Chelsea.

The Premier Legaue retained/released list has Frank Lampard being release... surely not?

Premier League clubs submit retained and released lists

I was told at the start of April that Cole would be on his way out and both JT and Lamps will sign 1 year deals. But 2 days ago i heard Lampards deal had stalled. He's apparently being offered 2 year deal elsewhere on his current wages where Chelsea are offering 1 year with reduced wage.

I did like Luiz but i think we all loved his personality more than anything lets be honest. I think he is a good footballer but a player who has never and will never be worth 50million and before you think otherwise turn the situation around. Imagine Luiz never played for Chelsea and we were the club splashing 50million on him, would you think it was a good deal then??

There has been some excellent moments but all in all he has been good at best. I'd argue that in the 3 and a half he had with us he didn't really improve, i wouldn't say he got worse i just think he is what he is.

Near 100million made within 6 months on 3 players who either can be replaced or were at that time surplus to requirements just shows how smart Chelsea can be when they need to be.

On to the future now and i wish Luiz all the success (except Champions League) in his career and i'll always remember him for his performance and arguably the best penalty i have ever seen in Munich.

That last comment left me a bit perturbed

There's something about Mike's kind, gentle soul that makes it enjoyable to watch his dreams wither away into nothi...

I mean yes, shame on you GC!

Well if we don't re-invest that money somewhere and just keep it in the bank for the **** of it, then maybe you can call us that. *UGH* But it's a bit pre-mature yet.

I fail to see how Luiz was one of our best player. He had his good games, but if you sum it up, he made more bad games than good ones. IMO he was average, with signs of great potential.

Shaw + Pogba + Cavani = http://www.naughtybits.us/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/southpark-***.jpg + Gary Neville's ****** voice

United didnt give Evra an extension. He already had one. He just had to activate it, and he'd been expected to for some time, he'd actually done so some time back (which is why it was in the premier league retained list)
