It would be a shame if any of the two left (Lampard & Mikel). We still need Mikel for the play it safe games. Maybe Luiz was more of a footballer than Mikel as DM, but i never felt nervous when Mikel was playing in front of the defence. Luiz was too venturous, whereas Mikel offers stability.
Even if we lose out on Shaw, if we can get Filipe Luis, it would still be good for us.

Mikel is just good at what he does and what he is supposed to do. Luiz is just... he cannot be trusted.

Just been thinking about that LB spot and what it came to mind was Wallace. He impressed at RB in the pre-season. So why don't we give the Rafael-esque RB a chance and let Azpi play LB in case we don't pay that money for Shaw (which I doubt we'll do)? Not sure, just my 2 cents.

He looked okay in pre-season but barely played for Inter so think he will go on loan again maybe to Vitesse. Azpi for me is great defending but gives us nothing going forward on his weaker side.

I seriously wonder what moves we are going to make. Aside from Costa, haven't had concrete links with anyone. I will honestly accept the sale of Luiz and Mata if it means we can get a world-class central midfield for next season

OptaJoe ‏@OptaJoe 101 - Frank Lampard is one of only two Premier League players (along with Ryan Giggs) to assist more than 100 goals. Force.

5 - Top five for goals + assists in @premierleague history:
Shearer 324
Lampard 272
Giggs 271
Andy Cole 260
Rooney 258.
Productive.

10 - Frank Lampard is one of only two players (along with Rooney) to score 10+ goals in 10 consecutive Premier League campaigns. Legend.

One word - legend. Will be missed.

Sad to see one of my favourite players leave the Prem. So long Super Frank

Apparently he's quite good for the national team, that's why he was selected instead of Negredo.

It doesn't look like that from what I read in my Twitter's TL whenever there's a Spain match. Usually the debate is "he's ****" versus "he's done nothing, but that's because nobody has used the spaces he creates with his off the ball movement".

I personally can't say if he's better in the NT than in the club, as I have only watched Spain's matches when they reached finals. Didn't watch the confecup or whatever 0-3 vs Brazil.

The appearance from my TL is he scored the winning goal in the '08's Eurocup final, our first win in an Eurocup, and because of that he has to be in the squad regardless of his current form. It seems journalists and many fans judge a player for what he did some years ago. And if del Bosque were to drop him, there'd be some outrage campaign because he left off the guy who gave us the first Eurocup. Not that I have a strong feeling it would happen that way, mind you. But when Mourinho dropped Casillas to the bench, it was all the saves he made in Glasgow for the seventh or ninth Champions like thirteen years before and little what he had been doing that season or qualities at the moment.

Torres is ****. Period. He doesn't deserve to be on that bench, let alone playing.

He's scored 7 in 10 in competitive matches at international level in the last two years. Say what you like about his domestic form, but the man's still effective at international level.

Still personally think if he moves elsewhere he'll become a good striker again at club level
