Whats your lots view on Wednesday and the likely to go through over two legs. For me it is too tight to call, althought Luiz being out could just win it for us.

Luiz was poor today so it could be a blessing in disguise lol. I think Ivanovic will play at centre back with Terry and Bosingwa will play at right back (which is dodgy). When the draw came out me and most people believed Chelsea would be more happy with the draw than what Utd would do but its obivous both sides are very close head to head.

I think if Utd are going to win the tie then i think they will need to take a scoredraw or even be leading the tie going into the 2nd leg. Only because Chelsea have a great record at OT and you can see them scoring if they need to.

Luckily Chelsea raise their game for the bigger sides and i think selfconsiously (sp) most of the Chelsea squad will only be thinking they can win the CL and put the PL to the back of their mind for this season. I think Chelsea win will the 1st leg 1-0 and the 2nd leg will be 1-1 but thats just my prediction.

Fair enough, I think looking at our side today, that Javier will start for us, which is big, as he is likely to play a very advanced role with Rooney and Nani either side of him, With Scholes coming in to the middle to be a long side Carrick and Anderson.

Luiz has been so good on every occassion i have seen him, so would rather he wasnt playing, especially if Bosingwa has to try and handle Rooney/ Nani depending on how Fergie lines up. My Opinion is that, you where very lucky last couple of times we have came to the bridge( you know you have really), and with Valencia lookibg sharp on his comeback to the first time, we might just sneak through. I wanted this draw 2nd in my personal standings, Barca was the draw i really wanted. I think with our amazing home record this year, if we can take a score draw back to OT, we will progress, but it all depends on how our defence performs and whether VDS makes it back to me.

I dont know about lucky lol. The free-kick that JT scored from last season was debatable but you do see them given. This season yes Luiz should have been sent off but like we say Rooney was lucky to even be playing (so he wouldnt have scored). And i keep saying the penalty was soft yes but the fact no Utd player (appart from Fletcher who could start an argument in an empty room) complained to the ref says to me they accepted the call.

Like many Chelsea-Utd games the tie will be won in midfield i think. We all know what the likes of Fletcher,Scholes and Carrick etc can do and they will be up against Essien,Lampard and Ramires(who has been our best player the last 3months). So for me whoever wins the midfield battle will go through to the semi's and i believe will go on to win the competition.

The Free kick was harsh, and we where actually the better team if you cast you mind back for the majority of the game... No-one argued with the ref because i think most players expected Fergie to do it after the game, and he did brilliantly. Luiz was a 50-50 call tbh, i didnt think he should of been sent off until i saw a replay. Just because players can accept a decision, doesnt mean they think it is right.

The game i think will be won at the back, and how well the defenders deal with the others striker force, if vidic can( a big if) keep Drogba quite i would bank on us going through, but again if you keep the Nani, Rooney, Javier trio out of the game, you shall progress, this is why i think no luiz might be the difference.

The better team dosent always deserve to win the game (sounding like an Arsenal fan Scott be careful lol). We all know if players dont agree with the ref especially a big call like the penalty then they will make their feelings known. Smalling is a very vocal player and he just looked gutted. Zhirkov knew exacly what he was doing but that dosent mean it wasent a peno lol.

No Luiz is a blow without a dout but Ivanovic is no slouch and for the 2nd leg Alex will be match fit so Ivanovic will go back to right back. Im looking forward to the game but its strange that i was more nervous about todays game than i am about Wednesdays.

Arsenal fan pfft, Your sounding like a liverpool fan, scared of smaller teams, :P. I think the occassion got the better of smalling, he isnt normally that vocal for us anyway, well with Vidic next to him he never gets the chance, it was more a look of shock on many of United players faces.

No doubt Ivanovic and Alex are top players, but in these types of game the small difference between Luiz and Alex in terms of quality can be the difference.

Just a small blog post on the Chelsea situation r.e Torres, Sturridge and their formation for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Clicky

Apologies for scruffiness and wall of texty type speech, didn't have too much time.

United coaches have been trying to get Smalling to be more vocal on the pitch, actually. He really isn't at all. Jus' sayin'

After watching the madrid vs tottenham game and hearing ray wilkins commentate... its clear why abramovich got rid of him. They probably had a conversation about team tactics and wilkins ****** him off by telling him all the players needed to do was stay on their feet! tskk

Wilkins is a Chelsea fan and stood up to Roman when he had a go at the players to which Roman didnt like.

Ok fair enough but for me it was a definate pen. A soft pen yes but even a soft pen is still a pen.

lol Nah dont take me seriously CJACKO11. That was a joke from the game. Poor wilkins said players need to stay on their feet over 100 times. He was horrid on commentary!

Bringing up a discussion here quite simply what do people think of Danny Sturridge. He got himself another 2 goals today for Bolton and has played very well for England U21's also. Alot of Chelsea fans including me wanted Ancelotti to start him more often or send him out on loan to get first team football. I think he needed this because it was obvious there was talent but he needed games to find a way to play at his top level week in week out. I hope Ancelotti (or whoever is manager) finds a way to keep him in the squad next season even if this means letting one of Drogba, Anelka or Kalou leave the club.

Sell Drogba and Anelka

Play Sturridge off Torres

I think Sturridge needed first team football badly, and now that he's getting it he's showing what he can do. I can see Drogba leaving at the end of the season, and Sturridge would be a good "replacement" of sorts.

Sturridge looks a talent and for me i am happy he is english, Him and welbeck are the future of Englands strikers with Wickham. and Wayne still has some years left in him, Hopefully chelsea make the mistake of sselling him, then i will be 100% happy

Suprised knowone has bought this to light but FA Youth cup holders Chelsea drew Manchester United in the Semi Finals which is played over 2 legs. The first leg was on Sunday at a packed Stamford Bridge and it was a sensational game, here are the hi-lights for all to see and i advise everyone to watch.

YouTube - Chelsea 3-2 Manchester United Highlights | The FA Youth Cup Semi-Final First Leg 10/04/2011

I watched the full 90minutes and although Chelsea dominated in the 1st half and could have been 3,4-0 up (just a shame Milan Lalkovic cant finish) Man Utd fully deserved their 2 goals in the 2nd half. 2nd leg should be intresting but i will add away goals do not count in this competition.

Ok now this is what Chelsea need to do in the summer.

Keep:
Ancelotti - Great manager but does have flaws. Needs to learn from them but we need to keep a manager for once
Drogba - Although he is getting on you just know he still has a few years left in him

Definatly Sell:
Malouda - One good season but that is it. Worst player in Chelsea's squad at the moment
Hilario - Just not needed on the wage bill
Zhirkov - Never really dont it
Anelka - Huge wages and dosent look intrested YET AGAIN
Bosingwa - Ok first season but injury looks to have finished him, im sure Boas would take him back to Porto

Maybe Sell:
Cole - Only if the offer is decent i.e 15mill+. Dont want to lose PVA because lack of first team appearences and Cole is getting on
Drogba - If the offer is right and Anelka stays
Alex - Only if the offer is decent i.e 8mill+ and Bruma stays at the club for back-up

Sign:
Neymar - Play him on the left with a floating free role, he would be devastating

Bring Through:
Van Aanholt - proving it again in the Championship
Kakuta - Maybe, just maybe he will excell this time round
McEachran - Deserves more minutes
Sturridge - Deserves more STARTS

No Trophies this year Chelsea fans, what is your opinions on this.

We got 2 last year so its fine. Its not the first year Chelsea have gone without winning somthing and it wont be the last. Im not worried at all and if we stick with Ancelotti then i fully expect Chelsea to come back much better and more determined than this year.

If Arsene wenger can go 5 maybe 6 seasons without a trophy and not get sacked

Surely Carlo Ancelotti after 1 season without a trophy after a double in his first cant get sacked?
