Said it earlier that Eto'o will eventually get his rewards and he finally did. Put in a massive performance ... We really switched off after we were up 3-0 though

How pleasing was it to take 3 points of Utd today! I'll admit when i heard Rooney and RVP were out i wasn't that much more confident because it has been Valencia and Hernandez who we have struggled against in recent years. But when i saw Brana was starting i knew Jose had done his homework and saw that Cole struggles against Valencia and then seeing Moyes not starting Hernandez the game was ours from the off.

Now lets get this out the way shall we, the amount of posts/tweets i saw which were slating Jose for starting Eto'o and slating him for "being ****". I don't even have to say anything because you will feel embarrassed with yourself and so you should. Jose got it right yet again and why do we even question the man these days?

Felt we were on top as soon as we scored, yes a help from a deflection but the drop of the shoulder from Eto'o which sent Jones the wrong way was world class. Oscar a little quieter today but Willian did not stop running, what a signing he is turning out to be. Soon as they bought Hernandez on they started getting some joy which to every Chelsea fan knew that would happen but Moyes didn't? Annoyed we didn't keep a clean sheet but 3 points is the main.

I am really enjoying watching us at the moment and anyone who thinks we are "boring" needs to give their head a shake! UTC!

What a great day I had at the bridge today! The first game in ages I have been to at Stamford Bridge where the atmosphere has been good and Samuel eto'o what a performance I must admit I was disappointed when I saw his name in the starting line up ahead of Fernando but he proved me and many other Chelsea fans wrong :) KTBFFH

Don't over-exaggerate Eto's performance. Everything went for him today. You'd actually have to be **** (or Fernando Torres) to miss his 2nd and 3rd goals.

United looked the stronger side until the deflected goal. Thought the red card was harsh. And how was that little brazilian kid still on the pitch after that two footer at the end?

I'll never understand premier league referees.

United looked stronger side initially, yes, they'd have had to slowed down regardless of the goal. You can't press with that energy for more than 30 minutes, Hull did it to some extent for first half and then got tired, same happened with United. They had to get tired, they did. Their pressing initially was very aggressive, though.

It's been ages since a Striker looked competent in Chelsea shirt, that's also one of the reason everyone's too excited about Eto'o's performance. Vidic hacked down Hazard with both of his feet, nowhere near the ball, It was clear red for me. They fouled us everytime we tried to counter, anyway. I was surprised that they weren't willing to fight back, only make mindless tackles. Doesn't seem like Manchester United at all. (Good for us).

Maybe its just his face but De Bruyne comes of like a spoiled brat. Wow he didn't eat chocolate, truly legendary accomplishment that will inspire generations.

Possesses talent but didn't seem very determined to fight for a place in the Chelsea side. Seemed at times like he just expected to be getting games no matter how well fellow team mates were playing or how poor he was when he did get a chance.

Why not over exaggerate Eto's performance? He is a striker who done his job 3 times today, doesn't matter if he didn't do much else or they were easy chances he still took them.

Have not watched it yet but seeing some comments from Schemeichal tonight on MOTD2 stating Chelsea are not in the title race. Honestly how petty can you get!

Well, that 2 point barrier is an obstacle you simply cannot overcome of course. It's just unsurmountable

Totally agree mate! I mean its not like we have 16 games left with City and Arsenal still to play is it!

And Everton :D

Ever get the feeling that once again, we could ruin someone's season..........

Yea exactly, I couldn't believe it when I read it. He stopped drinking Coke and eating chocolate ... That's the amount of effort he put in and couldnt get a game. Jesus cried

He is a very talented player but if he wants to fulfill his potential, he needs to start working much harder and stop expecting everything

Loving all the hate De Bruyne is getting and taking the coke and chocolate thing out of context.
He said the club offers everything (those two being an example) and he's avoiding it all, working on his days off and lost a decent bit of weight. Reminds me of all the people calling Lukaku mentally weak and afraid of working for his place when wanting to go out on loan.

Then again it's Mourinho who can do no wrong.

I havn't seen the original context of this, but eating a bit of chocolate and cola isn't much of a problem in small amounts considering the metabolism of a pro athlete, the problem comes from addiction consumption levels. Some of my friends are semi-pro athletes, and have trained for Team GB in fields such as rowing and I train myself very often, and the amount of calories they burn through in a day is ridiculous. They get to the point where they cannot physically be bothered to eat the amount of food they use in a day, it turns food into a chore. Refined sugars certainly arn't good for you in large amounts, but you don't become an athlete at the level De Bruyne is at without dedication and discipline.

If that is indeed the quote, that the club offers it but he avoids it all, works his days off, reduced his weight - then I'd consider this exactly what he needed to do, it just wasn't enough to get in the side ahead of Hazard/Oscar/whoever, and he had to be moved on. Well done to Abramovich/whoever your sporting director is to get them moved on for an amount which has covered his salary at the club, though.

No doubt he was going to struggle to get into the team and him leaving was highly likely considering the players he had to compete with. Chelsea did well to get what they did for him and it's best for both parties.
I just find it amusing that he got called out my Mourinho and responded and people are talking **** about De Bruyne much like they did with Lukaku.

It just sounds like a rather pathetic justification of how 'hard' he has been working yet couldn't get into the side. If he said something like ... Oh I actually worked on the weaknesses in my game or something along those lines then yes maybe that would have been better. Staying off chocolates and coke and reducing his weight are the type of accomplishments a school athlete would be proud of. Not a professional footballer. It's good that he trained on his days off although that's what most footballers at this level would do if they were hardly playing so nothing extraordinary there

I stand by my point. Mourinho is the one who convinced him to stay in the summer so anyone who says this was another of Mourinho's power plays is talking out of their ****. De Bruyne's definition of 'hard work' probably didn't fit Mourinho's definition. Simple

I agree with the premise, if he said "I was the first one to arrive at training, the last one to leave, my diet exceptional, total focus, and I wasn't getting a game so I had to go" - then everyone would be looking at his future performances and wondering if Mou missed a trick. Since he seems to have this rather 'half arsed' way of expressing his dedication to training, perhaps he has a "good enough" attitude, which is exactly what Mourinho wants to stamp out and if KDB is on his travels, well, there has to be a reason for it. Watching the Chelsea game yesterday, seeing the entire front line closing down constantly and as a team is what he demands and what he got. I'd love to be able to get that work ethic into the Arsenal forwards (everyone apart from Ozil seems to get it at the moment, but when one person stops the whole thing falls apart), but you don't get that magically on match day, you get it from training properly and with good attitude to give you the stamina and discipline to do it without the 'effort' on match day.
