Been meaning to put this up all week and kept forgetting. For all they get wrong, one thing Everton and L'pool continue to lead the way in is their community/ charity work.

Brilliantly inspiring story that is about so much more than football and brings home just how important a role a club can play in the community it represents.

Top stuff Blues.

Meh. Time will tell. Money talks so going to see what happens next transfer window. How many times have 4/5 year contracts been signed then the player leaves? Not holding breath at all. Contracts mean jack squat these days a lot of the time. There could also be a release clause we don't know about.

Not that contracts men anything these days. But Everton could be building something good. New stadium. New owners who are willing to spend big also.

*Proposed. They haven't officially got a site as of yet. Though frigging Anderson is doing everything he can to have the Council buy them the land at Bramley Dock and part fund everything

Might want to take a look at at what looks an excellent new Everton fan site. Some excellent local contributors, not least Dave Downie, the driving force behind this, who are often on quite a few different LFC things and always give a very impartial, knowledgeable view on whats happening across the park/ the tone of the support etc.

Listened to the van der Meyde interview this morning which was excellent.

Stuff like this would **** you off as an Everton fan. Ability is there, but shows what a bit of willingness can do. Apparently been impressive in the Milan colours!

Had some doubts when he signed but to be fair to him he's been really good. Goal and an assist in 4 or 5 games but looked lively every game. Could have had one vs Juve but didn't hit it well after a good break through to the left side of the box

Former Hearts, Everton and Scotland forward Alex Young has died at the age of 80.
Young played for Hearts from 1955-1960 and his goals helped the Edinburgh club win the Scottish league title in 1958. He won a move to Everton, where he made 273 appearances, scoring 87 goals and winning the First Division title as well as the FA Cup. Loanhead-born Young also made eight appearances for his country, scoring five goals. While with Everton, his elegant touch earned him the nickname of "The Golden Vision", a title coined by Northern Ireland defender Danny Blanchflower. Everton's 2001 testimonial for Young was attended by more than 20,000 fans at Goodison Park.

In the latter stages of his playing career, he played for Northern Irish club Glentoran - who he went on to manage - and Stockport County. At the end of his football career, he ran his family's upholstery business in Edinburgh before retiring.

Bad couple of days for Merseyside legends with news yesterday that Tommy Smith's alzeihmers is getting worse.

God rest.

Just sell him. Myself and other fans are tired of his **** right now. Just cash in, move on. No player is bigger than the club. Not prepared to play for the badge sod off. I value player loyalty and commitment above all.

Pretty much. People seriously wouldn't believe what a divisive figure Lukaku is among Evertonians if they just looked at his goal record and not his **** poor work ethic along with all the ego.

Along similar lines, REAL surprised at all the support for Sanchez the Arsenal thread after his recent **** poor attitude.

Feel bad for Coleman! Hope he's ok wouldn't wish that on anyone. Disgusting challenge! Really bad for Everton also.
