It can also be a wake up call. He's completely right about the own goal, unless we **** up real bad it's going to be our blunder of the season. We need to start getting our **** together if we're to survive.

He's 100% right about the penalty as well, though. We could've easily walked out of St. James' with a point but the ref missed it, and it's not the first time we get screwed over by the officials. We're needing that little bit of luck.

Even worse was the fact that Gosling was guilty!

Still, think now know why Jags has been a bit pants. Hairline fracture of toe. Been playing with injections

Anyways, on a happier note, the worst part of the fixture is over, we've got a few winnable matches coming, and although Arsenal is in the mix we should be able to come out of the next 6-7 matches with (hopefully) some 12-15 points at least to put is comfortably in mid-table.

Also, youngster Jake Bidwell got called up for England u-19s. Best of lucks to him!

Hopefully. Like DM, international break doesn't help too much. But on the plus side, I guess it will help with injury recoveries. And hopefully, DM's plan to bring back Donovan will come to fruition too.

Bought Bidwell in my Torquay save on FM 12. Great crosser of the ball so far. Have high hopes for him-very talented

Also, Hope, Lundstram and Dier will be playing Slovakia u-18s in a week. Apparently Dier is one of the brightest prospects in the youth setup and although he's only on loan (Has been since January) he's also been promoted to youth captain for the season. I'd like him to stay, that way he (hopefully...) won't have random ****** attributes next patch :p

//Edit - On Donovan, it'd be a good addition, not only because of his skill but also because adding a high-profile player would also boost morale in the dressing room. It's a long shot, though.

If he was strutting his stuff at Goodison again, it would definately be a morale boost. And give the fans something to cheer about as well. Excellent player

And it'd probably pay itself in shirt sales. Even a short-term loan could get a few shirts sold either side of the Atlantic.

Now I'm getting excited. Gonna be dissapointed if it doesn't happen.

Yeah I know. That's why I'm going to stop thinking about it lol

Chief executive Robert Elstone has confirmed that discussions over the future ownership of Everton have started and stressed that the club is not overpriced.
Elstone said 'genuine conversations' are taking place regarding ownership and future investment but there was a responsibility to select the 'right buyer with the right intentions'.
Indian construction giant Jain were the latest to be linked with a move but a number of other parties are also understood to be interested.
Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright has come in for criticism over the past couple of months from a section of fans who believe he is the main barrier to progress on the sale.
Supporters' group The Blue Union are staging another rally and march before Everton's home match with Wolves a week on Saturday as they continue to protest about perceived inertia at boardroom level.
However, Elstone said the process was a complicated one which had to be handled sensitively.
"Speculation and football go hand in hand and over the past few weeks there's been plenty of talk about Everton takeovers and investment," he said.

"As we've said repeatedly there's been a constant stream of interest and dialogue over a considerable period of time and right at this moment that remains true.
"There are a number of individuals, groups and companies interested in Everton and genuine conversations are taking place about future ownership and future investment.
"Discussions are still at an early stage. What I know to be absolutely the case is the first question asked by us in these discussions is never 'How much?' but always 'What are your thoughts, intentions or plans for Everton's future?'
"The responsibility to find the right buyer is paramount and not an excuse for 'not really for sale', 'wanting too much for it' or 'wanting to stay involved'.
"Such a negative outlook only hinders a painstaking and challenging process made all the more difficult in a recession-hit world.
"I'm tired of saying it but the club is absolutely for sale and has not, and will not fail to be sold because it's too expensive or comes with onerous conditions.
"We sincerely hope the right buyer, with the right motives, with a commitment to take Everton forward is part of this current dialogue."
[h=4]'Lean ship'[/h]Elstone also moved to defend the club's financial position after yet another transfer window went by when the Toffees' income exceeded their expenditure.
Midfielder Mikel Arteta and strikers Jermaine Beckford and Yakubu Aiyegbeni were sold to Arsenal, Leicester and Blackburn respectively for about £15million.
Only loan signings Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursi and free agent James McFadden have arrived as replacements.
But with the club's debt running between £40million and £45million Elstone admits there is a fine balancing act to be done.
"Speculation is also once again fuelling debate in certain quarters about where our money goes," he told the club's official website.
"To get this straight again, almost 85p in every £1 we earn is spent at the training ground and academy paying the players, the coaches, the scouts, the conditioners, the medics, the support teams, team travel and accommodation along with rent and other overheads.
"We're confident that the investment pays off.
"What's left in the coffers, the other 15p in the £1, funds everything else.
"Quite simply, it doesn't allow us to waste a penny. It means we're a 'lean ship' and one of the leanest in the Premier League.
"It means in some areas, resources are stretched, more stretched than I'd like them to be if I'm honest.
"It certainly means we all have to pull our weight."

^ ^

Was literally about to post that lol

Looks like we're linked with yet another loanee, though we're facing competition from Fulham aswell. Have to admit don't know much about him so don't know how good he is tbh.

Dani Parejo? Oodles of talent, that boy.

Basically he's a central midfielder comfortable either deep or operating behind the strikers. He's a bit Arteta-esque, in fact, with good dead ball skills as well as creative vision. He's not the most mobile, mind, but he'd certainly add creativity to your midfield.

Bilyaletdinov issues quit threat | Everton News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

So Bilyaletdinov wants to leave. I'm gonna say what I say in my press conferences. "He's not getting games for a reason and that's the way it shall be". If he wasn't like Arshavin and decides when to play well, he'd get more playing time. Either buck up ideas or just go.

Besides, the money from any potential transfer would be nice so we can get a more reliable replacement.

Not to mention he's probably one of the 3-4 highest earners at the club. On his day he can be brilliant, he's a very technically gifted player, but he's been playing out of position for some time, he clearly doesn't fit into Moyes' system and hasn't put in the kind of performances needed to secure a first team spot.

Good luck to him if he goes, hopefully we'll get some good cash for him.

Everton may very well be better off in the long run without him

More potential diamonds discovered by Moyes?

If they impressed Moyes, well...I don't have to mention past signings he's made do I?

I had been following that story, the interest has been there for a long, long time, and I'm really happy it's getting done now. These kids, along with Green and our current crop of youngsters will hopefully take over from the older members of the squad for significantly lower wages, without the need to splash out on new players. ****, we may even get out of our financial mess without a takeover after all.

I suppose people would say "another premiership poaching youngsters", and would probably say they'd get wasted by not being played etc. Thats one good thing about Everton. We're not scared to play them. Rooney was 16, Barkley, Gosling...with DM in charge, if they're good enough and he feels they're ready they'll always get a chance. Not to mention they'll have access to much better training facilities and youth training facilities.
