Really good capture for Everton, maybe 4-4-2 worth a try next season Naismith and Jelavic up front would be quite tasty.

Everton have offloaded Portuguese reserve team striker Joao Silva to Bulgarian side Levski Sofia for an undisclosed fee. Which means Yobo should be next to leave

Awryt mate am a rangers fan and am telling you from seeing it first hand they link up really well as long as you keep naisy fit a think h can be a big player for yous:) a was gutted when he left until he sold his story on rangers looking for people eh feel sorry for him. Lost ma respect for him the. But he's still a good player and jelavic is just different gravy:)

Would appear that the "will he won't he" saga for Baines is reaching a conclusion-which is favourable for Everton. Board won't let him go unless there's a bid of near £20 million (source from within the club), and there's still no bid been tabled.

There's no chance of getting a LB nearly as good as Leighton, he's probably the only player in our squad that's completely unreplaceable.

Pretty much-and he had the highest crossing rate in England too. But right now I'm a lot more optomistic, especially after reading Fergie admitted that the debt at Utd brought in by the Glazers, is hampering their spending a bit, which leads me to think that they may not be able to fork out that amount, and hope to bring in a quality midfielder. Though the rumours of a £12 million deal did make me giggle a bit. Some rumours are just a tad bit insane

20 million for Baines when he is 28 in December, no thank you!

He is good and all but United could spend that kind of money so much more wisely, such as buying a cheaper Left Back to at least challenge Evra and hope Fabio comes good. Apart from that I hope United spend that kind of money on a quality midfielder rather than Baines any day.

And to make things better, it appears we're making progress on a deal for Pienaar. Look forward to seeing him in an Everton shirt once more

20million for Baines seems a tad too much compared, for example, with how much Jordi Alba cost. Although considering the "English player tax" and the special situation with Jordi Alba it may be needed to get him from everton.

Reports suggesting that a £5 million move for Pienaar close to being completed. Both clubs confident that it will be done by next week. Things suddenly getting a lot better right now

Jordi Alba had 12 months left on his contract, €14m is a lot for somebody who could leave for free next year. Having said that, £20m is probably about 5 or 6 m£ more than Baines is actually worth.

Not to Everton. They are not going to be able to replace him with a player of similar quality.

Not really an English player tax in this case. Very few left backs as good as Baines, certainly none that Everton can afford.

None that would find Everton appealing, either, even if we could somehow afford him.

Even then though wouldn't Everton find it appealing to cash in on Baines for say 14-15m pounds and go out and buy a young prospect and develop him. Baines is in the prime of his career at the moment and his value will start to considerably decrease as he hits the 30s which is not far off at all

If / when he does go, I'd test Bertrand's desires from Chelsea and see if he feels like having regular first team footy now instead of a few seasons down the line. Failing that, get him on loan to temporarily plug the gap.

Bertrand has just secured the back-up position to Cole. He has the manager's faith and barring injuries, drop in form etc. is line to become the starting LB for Chelsea for years to come. Why would he want to move to Everton now when things are going so well for him

A realistic target would be PVA although he has secured a loan move to Vitesse and is not PLM quality as of yet if his loan at Wigan was anything to go by
