Wow! 6 goals in 27 minutes, crazy. Cant believe I missed it! :S

England roar back from the brink!

Thanks mate for the enjoyable match. Hopefully I went some of the way to restoring some Aussie pride after last night's debacle in the cricket...

Best hour spent today watching that!

I forgot about it, switched over & they were 6 for 26 or some ****. Didn't even watch a ball, disgraceful!

We 5 Aussies will show those half wits what it really means to fight for the pride of your nation!

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

England take slender lead in third test

England have taken a 2-1 lead in the third test of the FM Base Ashes series after a 3-1 win in the second game between the two sides.

Australia nearly started the match in style, but Yaya Toure scooped his free kick over the bar from just over 20 yards in the 5th minute. England hit back in the 12th minute however, when Sergio Aguero played the ball down the right flank and found Thomas Muller, who floated a cross to the far post and found a leaping Cristiano Ronaldo, who fought off attention from both Cesar Azpilicueta and Mats Hummels to nod the ball home.

Australia appeared to be on level terms in the 20th minute when Messi headed in an Arjen Robben cross at the near post, but the goal was chalked off because of an offside flag. Just a minute later Manuel Neuer was called into action when Aguero pulled the ball back to Muller from the byline, but his shot was blocked at the near post by the German keeper. Neuer was again busy in the 24th minute when he safely held an Aguero shot after the Argentine had jinked past the challenge of Hummels.

And Australia restored parity just a minute later when a long ball from Neuer evaded Vincent Kompany's head, allowing Luka Modric to nip in and round David De Gea to make it 1-1.

The Aussies nearly took a 2-1 lead in the 40th minute, but Messi's free kick from 25 yards struck the outside of the post and went out. Australia were almost caught napping straight after the half time interval, when Muller crossed to the far post and found Ronaldo, whose close range effort was somehow tipped over the bar by an excellent save from Manuel Neuer.

From the resulting corner, the ball found its way to Andres Iniesta on the edge of the box with Neuer was out of position after rushing to the near post, the keeper somehow clawed Iniesta's effort out, but Muller managed to poke home the rebound amidst a crowd of players inside the 6 yard area.

England came forward again in the 49th minute, and would have doubled their lead when Muller looked to latch onto a Ronaldo cross to the far post, but the ball was cleared away at the last minute by Leighton Baines. England had another chance in the 56th minute, but Muller blazed well wide after easily turning inside David Alaba. Neuer was again kept busy on the hour mark, tipping wide a Ronaldo shot from the edge of the area. The ball stayed in play and eventually fell to Kroos, who slammed a shot over the bar from 20 yards.

Australia should have been level in the 72nd minute when Hazard cut inside from the left flank past Lahm, but he selfishly blazed his effort high and wide. England almost killed the game off in the 78th minute when Iniesta received the ball just inside the area following a corner, but Neuer again acrobatically denied him. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a chance from inside the D in the 80th minute when he was set up by Hazard, but he scuffed his swivel and shot, and the ball went harmlessly wide.

England killed the game off in the 86th minute, when Muller took advantage of some slack marking from Alaba and Thiago Silva to break free at the far post and tap home an excellent cross from Jordi Alba.

The ball was in the Aussie net once again in stoppage time, but Ronaldo's effort was chalked off for offside. Australia almost clawed one back in the 92nd minute when Messi volleyed toward the top corner, but De Gea superbly denied him and England saw out the 3-1 win to take a lead in the third test.

Ignore the unfortunate case of Thomas Muller plastic surgery...

England dominating like IRL!

Thomas Muller face in the MOTM screen is ___________!!!

Funny looking Thomas Muller! And I think it's 1-0, not 2-1. Congrats on the win though Craig, must have caught Feliks in a generous mood ;)

Ah, i just put it down as 2-1 because i thought both teams would get a point for that draw haha, either way, i appreciate it! It was a good game to be honest, Hazard and Ibra could have put Australia 3-2 up if they'd scored their chances, and most of my 22 shots on target weren't even shown so it wasn't really as one sided as that suggests, i'd say i edged it though, of course ;)

Great game Craig!

Patrick and myself will be looking to kick off at some point on Sunday.

I had a lack of support as well compared to the Aussies, only Craig showed up from our team, while 3 of the 4 Aussie members were supporting Lippo!
