Suarez bit evra so he can't have missed the Derby or am I misunderstanding the question?

4 players to of played in all three of the Manchester, Merseyside and El Classico derby.

Anelka, McMananaman and Owen. One more.

Didn't Suarez play on all of them? Nevermind, it's City-United, not L'pool-United.

Edit: Answer below:
Its Sparky. He played for Barcelona too.

Honestly, don't remember him playing the Merseyside Derby. But the blue insists he did and who am I to argue when it comes to their Cup Final? ;).

Only got him after being that frustrated and needing a clue which was 'He played for Everton and Utd.'

Belter of a question that considering he was only at Everton 2 minutes late in his career.

Guinea going mad overnight with multiple reports saying Keita and his reps reiterated his desire to come to L'pool.

Like Southampton, the ball is firmly in Leipzigs court with players who want to be elsewhere.

Gonna be a long and patient window with these complicated ones.

Frigging half 12 KO the Sat'day to open up at Watford. Beats the fear of it being the Friday Night like with the qualifier following but dinner time KO's are just the worst. (God forbid when these Sunday half 11's come in. NOBODY wants a part of that ****!). And half the morning spent travelling down with little time before the match doesn't make things any easier. Be a late train back methinks to make up.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who Pep Lijnders described as one of the most all-round talents in Europe, signs an improved five-year deal at #LFC

Boss news. Gonna' be a 2/300 game lifer this lad.

Really can't be understated just HOW important it is to the clubs identity to have a Scouser on the park that you can relate to and who knows EXACTLY what it means.

Thankfully in Trent, we have a real good one who'll ultimately end up further up the pitch. Starting RB first though going into 2018/19.

So dilakh will be bouncing haha.

Had great hilarity today with two blues seriously trying to state Everton are the summer's progressive club in getting all their business done whilst L'pool (and presumably the other top 6. But they only like to nark at L'pool), are standing still and failing. The fact that Everton are shopping in a COMPLETELY different market to said top 6 with the Keanes and Klaassens of this World was lost on them. All of whom would be at a top 6 side now if anyone had they remotely had any serious interest. Bigger names and bigger transfers are more complex and take time.

Is kind of topical though when you look around social media and STILL see L'pool fans losing it at the lack of not only signings but new news. Again, completely ignoring the fact that the club has both gone on a media silence since the initial van Dijk debacle so there is no 'new' news for even the connected local corp to report. And that they're quietly confident of their three main signings all being here by the end of the window so a working away behind the scenes to come to agreements with their clubs.

Games this week. Chill out and enjoy them. The moves will take care of themselves.

A bitter father, who was completely complicit in having the club pay the school fees until the FA changed the rules mid-season through the process, now threatening legal action to wring every last penny out over some spurious claim of falsified documents.

Any sympathy I had for them his been eroded away the longer they've dragged on with this. The fact that the boys in limbo is down to both Stoke City and the PL.

Complete non-story that Rumsby just won't let go.

Sorry Scouse you cant defend the inexcusable. The father has every right to do whats best for his child which in this case was a move to a top clubs academy. The F'ed up part is that even after the tapping up why have we left the family in limbo, If i recall correctly didn't City also get caught tapping up and do the decent thing and at least pay up the cost. It's not a non-story for me sorry.

I'm not defending anything. Just saying it's a complete non-story as the only person still pushing this is the only person that will listen to the lad's father who's only threatening legal action. It more than likely won't go any further than that as he has no case. (Falsifying documents indeed .....). He was completely complicit in the move to L'pool for the club to pay the private school fees. The rules changed. L'pool then couldn't, the league were informed, and the move collapsed. The league found L'pool at fault and gave them the Academy transfer ban, half suspended, and fine.

How do you figure that Liverpool are now responsible for this lad being in limbo and somehow 'owe' him?

Stoke want the compensation for the three years they put in and are refusing to give up his registration without it. That's between them, the PL and the child and his family. Why can't the PL pay that out of the money they got from Liverpool for the fine? Should we be seen to 'do the right thing' and pay his school costs like City have? I guess you could argue that, but it's hardly hitting us from a PR standpoint as again nobody is touching this bar Rumsby. And from the clubs POV is why should they pay costs for a lad they can't sign, when they've already paid more than that in a fine to the PL? Why is he still in private school if they can't pay the tuition fees? We aren't obliged to anything further here.

Until the deal fell apart with the change of rules, Liverpool were doing everything to meet the family's needs. Who were completely complicit in that and moving their son from Stoke. Then it fell apart as we couldn't do that on an individual basis with the rule change. No question club messed up there in not being aware. (This was all before Inglethorpe and the restructuring of the academy so thankfully nothing as embarrassing as this will happen again.). And they have subsequently been punished with the transfer ban and fine. Again, why wasn't part of that £100K fine sent to Stoke for the £49K compensation they continue to demand?

It's a messy, sad situation for the lad involved. And more embarrassing from the football clubs POV than anything else. But I just don't see why it's Liverpool's (or any other club in the same situation) responsibility to STILL sort out their problems for a lad they can no longer sign who've they already been punished over? The family's grievance now should be with Stoke and the PL. The more the father continues to come up with spurious arguments like the falsifying dated documents bunkum in his desperation at holding someone accountable to get the costs he's after, the more sympathy for him and his family wanes.

In more relevant news ..... It's match day! The Reds are finally playing a game of footie again over the water at Tranmere!

Bar Salah currently in Paris, having had to leave the Country for a few days to fulfil that mad work permy rule, Can still on his hols, and Phil and Lallana having just returned this week, along with Ings and Sadio still rehabbing; everyone's available from the get-go.

Points of interest, at least for me this pre-season, are:-

Which youngster has an Ejaria like leap from last summer and really impresses to bump himself up to the first team squad as Klopp has shown he has no fear of doing. Solanke's the obvious one there with Origi under threat to up his game. MASSIVE season for Divock. Hopefully, he responds to the Solanke addition and they both push each other to fulfil their respective potential. Which winger really impresses out of Kent, Ojo and Wilson as to what we end up doing with them. How Gomez and Grujic look and fit now they're back and healthy. The competition among the young lads should be fierce again knowing if they impress the manager he'll give them every chance which makes these exhibition games more competitive to watch than they normally would be.

The G/K situation. Very interesting what Klopp was saying on that Monday. Along with Ward being stopped from returning to Huddersfield for another season as they wanted. An open competition there through the summer games for the #1 shirt opening day makes that an interesting battle to watch.

And will we see much of a change in formation's tried/ player positions swapped around, without tipping his hand too much? He's been talking about being far more tactically flexible in how we line-up so that'll be one to keep an eye on.

And last but not least Daniel Sturridge fit and playing football! Not many better sights to see than that in Red! That's exciting in itself!

Yeah, pre-season is ostensibly about getting in shape and reforming relationships on the pitch. With results and performances meaning little. (Often the training sessions are FAR more important than any of the actual games.). But with a manager so invested in youth, the early games, in particular, have interest to see which ones catch his eye for the coming year.

Worthwhile, competitive training exercise played at a good tempo. L'pool won 4-0. 2 in each half. A Milner penalty and a 30 yarder bent the bottom corner from Grujić the first. Chirivella and a Woodburn pen the second. Some very tidy play. Just a little rusty.

From the first half team, Grujić, Trent and Ojo stood out. Sheyi back to confidently running at people. Trent overlapping great and Grujić just dominating the middle spraying it all over and looking very dangerous breaking from midfield. Great to see the captain back playing football for the first time since February. Matip missed an absolute sitter.

Second half the youngsters upped it more. Gomez composed as ever without ever being stretched. Woodburn dominating the middle aided by the very tidy Chirivella who looks to have bulked up his 5 months in Holland. Kent the standout the left who looks to of made a giant leap after his great season at Barnsley last year. And Dom Solanke looking like a natural finisher. One touch and bang. Real good movement and very unfortunate not to score. Another head scratcher why he never got a look at Chelsea. Kudos to Flanno too who looked a heck of a lot fitter than he did Tranmere last year and worked great with Kent down the left.

Karius played the first 66 minutes having little to do bar one excellent save he was out fast and spreading himself Grabara replaced him and had even less to do. Literally an attack against defence 90-minute training workout.

And a lot of talk of both van Dijk and Kieta progressing behind the scenes. The former from a very reliable source. All in all a decent night.

Oh yeah. Lazar Markovic is still lazy and utter ***** even against Tranmere. The one he blazed over when it all it needed was a tap in summed him up. Some things NEVER change!

Up the Back at It Reds!
