Solely because of playing on Thursday nights in the Europa League mate.

Oh yeah...

Re Marveaux - I hope he's coming is a backup to whoever we get in as first choice left winger. Why do we keep importing players with a questionable injury record ? You'd think we'd have learned our lesson by now.

well, back up player only if true. But i despise bosmans, and especially french ones. They fail here.

Yeah,i dont see as him going to be our best winger as we need somebody with a bit more skill than him. But should be able to come in for a few games to give our best winger a break against weaker opposition. I wouldnt judge him purely because hes french. We have a fear of french players because Houllier brought in lots of chancers. Somehow i think Comolli and Kenny wont be bringing in the same kind of duds.

Todays News:

Liverpool have been warned off Leighton Baines.
Goalkeeper Dean Bouzanais leaves the club by mutual consent.

Sad to see Dean leave as i think he is a decent young keeper.

anyone other than me think top three is possible next year? add raheem sterling and conor coady to the squad next year and were improved and deeper without making any acquisition. also is it only me that would prefer andre villas boas to dalglish?

If we keep on keepin' on & given the correct signings in the summer, top one is possible. The King Kenny feelgood factor feels that good. Why would we need VB when we've got Kenny ? A new foreign manager would take at least a season to get used to the Premiership & our momentum would be lost.

A Chelski hammer blow for the Spuds. Lovely jubbly. Don't much care if the goals were fails. That result has done nothing for their pursuit of fifth place except make their GD worse - & now they have to survive trial by Anfield.

Haha thats priceless, pity theres nobody singing it :)

I agree with most of what you say. Wouldnt like to see Villas Boas here yet as Kenny has the players support and are performing at the top of their game with him. Maybe in the future but not yet. Dont want to say we can challenge for the league yet as the players dont need that kind of pressure. If we finish in the top 4 within 7-8 points of the winners that would be a sucessful season in my opinion and we could build on that.

It was great to see Chelsea beat spurs aswell, now its a real good chance we have to finish 5th.

its true that having kenny right now is the right option. however he is sixty, and i cant see him staying more than three seasons at the absolute maximum. since technically we are still rebuilding i believe we should have someone who can be at the club for the long haul. "vb" is unbeaten in his first season at porto and well on his way to the europa league final. you may also remember that mourinho won the league in his first season at chelsea...

How old's Ferguson?...

A title challenge is realistically out of reach for liverpool next season, they should be aim for top 4 and build for the season after. No doubt they are coming back, but this season was not a good one for the top 3 and they will all reinforce with real quality over the summer, particularly United and Chelsea, and lets not forget City either

True that. I have to say, if Ferguson left this summer, the incoming manage would have one **** of a job on his hands. The top four are the poorest they've been for some time.

Even if we win 19 and he gets his 3rd, i doubt he will go this season, too much work for any new manager to do.

But yeah the top 4 has not been good this season, i expect a pretty major summer on all fronts

The top 4 may have been poor this season, but then you have to wonder where would we be if we'd had Kenny from the start of the season...

Oh yeah, I meant that as a hypothetical.

think you will finish 5th this season

witch is excellent seeing as in october/november you were fighting relegation in the bottom 3 !

too many if's there though; its like saying what if chelsea hadnt been dire, what if united had been better away from home

It's the same story it's been for a while, really. Poor away from home, superb at home.

wasnt sure if you mean united at first, becuase the same issues to apply this season, and KK (and SAF) must rectify that next season if you are to build on it

oh aye I know. It was all hypothetical of course.

& I never said I disagreed with you about starting by getting back in the top 4 ;)
