Haha i didnt say it would happen. What i meant is that he is the only Villa player id take for Liverpool.
Meh,Young has a decent pass and can dribble down the flank but he lacks quality crossing ability and thats why i wouldnt really like him.

And it's **** lucky you do think that! Though I am confused as to why you wouldn't take Downing. Eh, whatevs.

I think you have it the wrong way round on Young - his crossing is very good, but his passing is poor. Can't say either's been on display too much recently though.

Downings a good player but i think he would cost us too much and may struggle for us. Its just a feeling i have.

Ok,i may have it wrong about him as i rarely see Villa play and you would know more about Villas players than me so ill take your word for it. Just any games i seen him in he hasnt had many good crosses into the box.
Looks like he will be on the move this summer with us, Utd, City and Real interested in it aswell. So looks like it could be a bidding war and hope we dont go over £15M if we do bid.

Fair. The thought of Ashley Young as a Real Madrid player makes me lol though, that'd be a sight to see.

Heard a rumour about Jason Steele to Liverpool, which would be interesting. Decent keeper from what I've seen, would be good backup and possible long-term replacement for Reina.

I would laugh if i seen young in a madrid jersy too. Let him take Ronaldos place :p
Iv never seen him play tbh but i have heard good things about him. could be our back up next season.

Anyway for pool fans i also want to mention our youths as i reckon they will play a part in our fortunes next season:

Sterling, Coady, Silva, Ayala, Wisdom, Suso, Thomas, Kelly, Flannagan, Robinson, Shelvey, Adoran, Ince, Pacheco, Morgan and N'goo.

. . There isn't a better crop of youngsters anywhere and all this transfer-talk about buying the likes of Wickham and Lukaku for ££££m's should be treated with a pinch of salt. Yes, Lukaku may be "the next Drogba" and should be brought in if we can get him for a good price but N'goo is also a developing talent with strong physical attributes. I'm not sure Connor Wickham has done enough to justify a bidding-war for his services so let the Spuds take a £15m gamble on him. In Adam Morgan we have a lad who can't stop scoring.
They have all done well whenever there given a chance and there is belief in the ranks that if they impress they could head for the first team sooner rather than later. I could see most of the above list getting a few first team games each next season. Heres for hoping anyway :)

Ayala's a top player, kicked *** out on loan this season, good tall strong defender. Kelly was superb before injured too. And Coady, well he's just great. The rest are good too, our youth's great.

it's now well established as said by Ballague that Reina's staying, we're after a LB,CB, CM, and a winger.

We've got a lot of great youth player. Flano, Kelly, Ayala, Pacheco, Coady, etc. At least that's good.

i hope Suso will get some game time. He's really talented.

If we're looking at Villa, we have to be looking no further than Albrighton/Downing.

I'd think Comolli will come to Kenny with a list, then Kenny would have the final say from there something like that?

I imagine so mate.

I really, really hope Pacheco get's some playing time next season, neither Roy nor Benitez really played him, and as King Kenny likes to throw a few young players into the team I hope Pacheco is one. If we can nurture Pacheco, Suso, Kelly and Flano, I think we'll have four potential first team players right there, hopefully.

We need a back-up striker for Suarez & Carroll, not sure who tho myself.

im not convinced about pacheco, 3 managers now didnt rate him enough to give him much playing time, he did ok at norwich but only played a few times, and didnt look any better than the rest of the championship.

We already have a back up to those two at the club.

Dirk Kuyt.

G. Balague, who apparantly know more about our transfer targets than even those at the club do, claims we're not looking for another striker anyway.

So that's the end of that chapter.

Oh god, dont let Godcubed see that. He would rather give away his left nut than see Albrighton go by the way he rates him.

Apparently Commoli was at the United game to look at Schalke's young spanish left back. Cant think of his name but i posted this on the transfer rumour thread.

Sergio Escudero. He had a 'mare' against mu.

And that's the end of that chapter.

YDaphus on Twitter is saying that we will be looking at a marquee signing FROM ABROAD, his favourite at the moment is Sergio Aguero, over a 50% chance, and best friends with Maxi.

Would love that, not first priority, but would make lots from shirt sales and give us possibly the best strike force in the Prem.

Meh, we'd have to blow most of our transfer cash on him alone.

Can't see it mate, more's the pity.

If we got Aguero, a left-back and a winger then I wouldn't mind if we signed him..

Reina
Johnson - Carra - Agger - LB (Enrique?)
Gerrard/Meireles - Lucas
RW (Gervinho?) - Aguero - Suarez
Carroll

That would be an epic front line. Not too worried about our defence if we had forwards like that :)

Heres what Kenny had to say about the youth team:
Kenny Dalglish believes the progression of youngsters into Liverpool's first-team set-up is the biggest prize the Academy could have achieved this season.

The U18s' hopes of claiming the Group C title came unstuck against Wolves earlier today - but the boss has been quick to highlight the positives that can be taken from a campaign that has seen the likes of John Flanagan and Jack Robinson feature in the Barclays Premier League.

Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "Our U18s have played today and drawn 2-2. They finished second in the league when they had an opportunity to get first.

"I suppose you could say we can take the blame because we took Flanagan and Robinson away from them. So we've weakened them and three of them are also away with England U17s.

"For us that is more progress than it would be to have won the league and get no players through.

"I don't see it being any different for anyone else."

Dalglish was also asked about Andy Carroll's inclusion in England U21s' 40-man squad ahead of this summer's European Championships.

He added: "There's no definitive decision on whether he is going to go. He's in a 40-man squad.

"There's nothing for us to really get involved in until it is definitive that he will go.

"For me, the benefit of having younger teams is to use them to progress players into the full team. It's exactly the same at club level as it at international level.

"Andy has played a number of games for the U21s and I think it's nine for the U19s, so he's played a few. He's now played in the full international team so it's served its purpose in his development.

"That's what we do at club level.

"I think the important thing is to get people progressing through it."

That is a secksay front line.

Almost as good as Villa's. ;)
