In isolation it's a great deal to get 16m+Johnson for Agger. The problem is that Adam, whilst good, is a winger. There are a lot of good wingers out there. There's not many centre backs that can offer what Agger does, and certainly none you'll be getting for 16m.

Yeah, papers trying to spin it as Rodgers banking on his 'friendship' with Mourinho to hijack Arsenal's bid

Seriously though, if Sahin wanted to go on loan to the EPL, won't Real Madrid have just sent him to Tottenham to subsidize any potential bid for Luka Modric. No idea how Sahin to Arsenal/Liverpool rumours have originated

Read a couple of days ago that one of the coaches at Real Madrid told their official website that they may convert Sahin to a left back (back up for Marcello). So could all be paper talk about Sahin moving.

Rumours from Marca, or whatever it's called. Apparently they're normally spot on with Madrid news but I dunno. I'd be so happy with him, know it's a very long shot, but still. **** you.

Not sure about spot on, but they do tend to hear first, whether what they is always accurate or not is another thng, but that could be said for every paper.

Probably does, but I'd imagine that Jose Mourinho is very persuasive about where he wants you to play (think eto'o as a winger tasked with tracking back for Inter). As is playing for a club as big as Real Madrid, even if it is at the expense of playing out of position.
 
Buys Coentrao, a LB, and plays him in CM. Buys Sahin, a CM, and plays him in LB.

Jose logic.

It would just about make sense, if he was all round utility player, like Fletcher. But not only is he a specialist, he is capable of being one of the best in the world in role. Speaking purely from a footballing fan point of view, this would be a criminal waste of talented player.
 
Tbh Coentrao has made a very good transition to CDM/CM.. although i dont think Sahin would be met with similar success
