This. Sahin is a mini Alonso. Likes playing vertically, his long passing is superior to anything Liverpool have. Wasted a good player, who could have influenced some of your draws by being able to move the ball much quicker and with great accuracy.
I won't complain though if we sign Alonso

his wages! As soon as we go on about cutting back, flogging cole on 90K, Sahin on 90K, Bellamy, Doni, et al, then go give Sneijder 150-200K p/w, I will weep. I'd rather spend 20 million on a good young talent, who's on 50K p/w. Heck, Mata's on 60K p/w, i'd rather we went for someone of his ilk.
