He actually reminds me a lot of Tevez before he threw a strop and become just average. That intensity and will to win on the pitch, that way he just runs and chases lost causes because something -may- happen. That will to win is just so strong.

I'd actually say that RVP and Bale are up there as marksmen and have better finishing techique, and probably make better choices when on the pitch, but you can't replicate that effect of Suarez just bulldozing through defenses chasing after everything.

Better finishing than suarez? Really?

Luis Suarez : "Can't Stop Him" 12/13 - YouTube

Suarez is better on the ball/technically than RVP. I'll admit RVP might have better attacking positioning but remember there's a four year age gap.
Suarez is also a dead ball specialist, very very very good.

Another thing that sets Suarez apart is that he can create as well. His passing is amazing.

Yes, RVP is a better finisher than Suarez. Van Persie is also one of the most technically gifted strikers on the planet.

**** Suarez's accuracy doesn't even beat Rooney, in fact at no point has Suarez had a better shots to goals ratio than Rooney since he arrived, whether you look at it overall or season by Season.

Suarez is a volume shooter, he gets quite a lot of goals, because he takes a huge number of shots. But his conversion rate isn't that good. Granted it has improved this season. But then it had to, last season he had a conversion rate of 10%.

World class player? Almost certainly. World class finisher? Debatable.

This years figures (nearest 0.1%)
Suarez conversion rate: 12.2% 23 goals in 187 shots. 5.7 shots a game.
Van Persie conversion rate: 19.1% (and that includes his barren run) 25 goals in 131 shot. 3.7 shots a game.
Rooney conversion rate: 14% (this is in fact Rooney's worst year in a long time in terms of finishing) 12 goals in 85 shots. 3.3 shots a game.

Comparison to some leading scorers in the league ( I had planned to do leading scorers from the other big five leagues, but I cant be arsed, but I know Lewandowski has a conversion rate of 25.3%):

Aguero: 14.3% 11 goals in 77 shots. 2.9 shots a game. (another player below his best at finishing this year)
Tevez: 11.4% 11 goals in 96 shots. 3.2 shots a game.
Mata: 16.7% 10 goals in 60 shots. 1.9 shots a game.
Lampard: 18.5% 13 goals in 70 shots. 2.7 goals a game.
Giroud: 10.2% 11 goals in 107 shots. 3.2 shots a game.
Cazorla: 11.1% 12 goals in 108 shots 3.1 shots a game
Walcott: 16.0% 12 goals in 75 shots. 2.5 shots a game.
Bale: 13.4% 19 goals in 141 shots. 4.9 shots a game.
Defoe: 10.4% 11 goals in 106 shots. 3.4 shots a game. (also another striker below his best)
Michu: 16.0% 17 goals in 106 shots. 3.3 shots a game.
Benteke: 17.7% 18 goals in 102 shots 3.2 shots a game.

Suarez is still the best overall striker in the BPL this season imo. He has been playing up front on his own most of the season and still has managed to do what he has done. Rodgers has got a plan and it does seem to be working. I just hope it doesn't ruin the club on the way or lose out on too much.

Liverpool apparently look set to sign Alex Pearce on a free transfer from Reading

Obviously will be a back up and is free, but not too sure on it..

6th, 7th and 8th past 3 seasons... he is the one trying to rebuild it

No harm to you but up until about 3 seasons ago van persestrings was always injured and a waste of the 2mill arsenal spent on him, suarez has been a better player for a longer time, no comparison, arsenal fans should be chuffed to have got 20mill for him, anyway suarez has a head like a horse so its not his fault he bites, its been bred into him, all going to get upstaged by coutinho next season, what a talent, him sturridge and sterling up front, boom, sell suarez for 40 mill and dont waste it, not like torres carrol deals

Suarez hasn't been better for ages.... Bear in mind that top scorers in the Dutch league, dont always make it. For every RVN there is an Alves or a Kezman.

Although none of that is at all relevant to right now.

Always injured? He played over 25 times every season except 2. And Courtinho, Sturridge and Sterling wont get you top 4.
