Having read that article, it really does not surprise me one bit he is also the agent of Beharino! How awkward it must be for him begging us to buy one of his players while at the same time damning us over another!

like like another good young players talent down the tubes

I've said it so many times but agents are simply poisonous for the game

He can **** off for all I care, literally done with the lad! He's not worth the money being quoted, he's not worth the money he's turned down.

If we get £30 million+ (which we will) for him, we should be laughing.#

The problem is what we then spend on. We need to sack this philosophy off with buying young players, and buy some well known players from the game this season, if you do it right. Sterling could play for 3 better players, seems fine to me...

I'd actually prefer him to leave now. The money we'll get will be 30mil+ so it just depends on how we spend it

Apparently his agent denied saying all that and said he was misquoted.

Not sure how Sterling can go to training and face all the players after this.

I want us to sell him, but I don't think we will, simply on principle. I think the club won't want to be seen as backing down, and so will refuse to sell him, even if there is a good enough bid, 30-40m, for him

Liverpool has cancelled Sterlings meeting after hearing the Agents agenda apparently.

Yup. It's comedy hour at Liverpool at the moment, and Aidy Ward is the star. Sterling must be actually stupid if he can't see that he should change agent ASAP.

There are some interesting factors in play though.

Sterling apparently wants to leave. I can't really blame him for that, Liverpool aren't a top team anymore.
He's playing week in week out, and rarely gets benched. It might seem to him he's already achieved what he can at Liverpool, namely being a first team regular. Perhaps the lack of competition for starting places has made him disillusioned with life at the club.

But regardless, the way this has been dealt with by the agent is still horrendous. As mentioned I can't really blame Sterling for wanting to leave, but his agent is seemingly an actual idiot, and personifies everything that's wrong with the modern game. I think that's definitely the biggest grudge everyone has in this matter, myself included.

At least there's some good news for you Pool fans. Flanagan and Ibe have both signed contract extensions with the club.

Ibe is awesome, he lets his mother do his agent work for him. He seems really down to earth, so far at least. I can see him becoming a fan favorite if he keeps up what he's doing.

Yeah, Im sure!

I know - It would certainly be interesting for sure

Why? Ward has a proven track record with Peter 'I'll stay in a carpark' Odemwingie and Saido 'I want to move after a good month' Berahino

Funny how the Berahino talk has suddenly gone away because Aidy Ward is concentrating on making the world know about Sterling

I understand contracts can be complicated and sometimes need a professional touch, but the game would be better without them

Plenty of players have gone their careers with advice from parents and using their own prerogative.

The problem is not that Sterling wants a move away from the club - That's his own personal choice whether we believe it is best for him or not.

It is the consistent public soap opera that Sterling and his agent seem determined to achieve (Liverpool as a club have now also started doing this).

If he wanted to leave and done it all behind close doors, not speaking out or taking public interviews, then he would have looked a lot better than he is doing now. The lad is getting criticism from everywhere, not just Liverpool fans now.

He's only getting criticism from those who think Liverpool are still the big guns. There are plenty who agree with him. As for soap opera, Rodgers has hardly helped the situation with his comments either, nor have the legions of ex Liverpool players weighing in.

Who started it though? Rodgers and the club are the ones who brought his contract situation into the public eye and have been using passive aggressive press statements against him in these contract talks for months, trying to shame him into signing a new deal. To moan about it now, and to try and use the club's power in the press to guide public opinion against Sterling, is more than a little hypocritical.

Not really. He is getting criticism from nearly all angles.

Liverpool are not an elite club and many know that - his actions the past few months no matter what has happened have been poor and will only work against him

It's all so childish.. Who started it?

Liverpool have not helped and contributed to it all no doubt, but Sterling is acting like a spoilt brat and in the public eye... The lad and his agent are having a PR nightmare

this would never have to to the public eye. if rodgers had not mentioned sterling had rejected an "amazing offer". this makes sterling look like a greedy ***** when in truth it might not be true. once again rodgers with his foot in mouth syndrome.
