All the best everyone if you celebrate Christmas.

Happy Holidays to you and yours if you don’t.

Another superb, utterly dominant, Liverpool win played out in some proper weird conditions.

I finally called the inevitable last Sunday after another stupendous L’pool win at ‘Spurs. Following another now normality game where City drop points. You may not have agreed and you may well have looked at the team in 2nd as being principal challengers. Well, Chelsea just hammered home yet again yesterday why they are nowhere near contenders over 38 games with that defence and ‘keeper. Forget them. And I never personally considered Arsenal a threat well before the latest Saka injury which will inevitably put the final nail into any faint hopes they ever had. To all intents and purposes, the league is done and it’s just a procession to #20. The ‘kindest’ thing you can say, to keep any interest alive for anyone else, is its most assuredly L’pools title to lose.

We are now firmly in the ‘ticking them off’ final phase. Not concerned with losing. This side is WAY too good for that to ever be a worry going in to any game. Yeah, they’ll drop points here and there. Thats inevitable. And it won’t always be pretty and exciting. But, like Jurgen’s first great vintage in 2019/20, this awesome young, vibrant side he completely rebuilt and left for Arne, just NEVER look like losing and have you bouncing into EVERY game with NO concerns or fear of not coming out on top. The job now is ticking them off until there’s no more left to tick off. The job now is winning the football league. AGAIN!

Last night wasn’t all pretty and exciting in a visceral sense. But by God it was another utterly dominant one where, Leicester’s one shot at goal ALL game opener aside, L’pool stood on City’s throat and left them gasping for dear life. You don’t need the one sided final stats to tell you just how utterly dominant and in control L’pool were. The eye test alone told you that across the 90. Even in the first half when we just lacked that final quality, mainly on crosses into the box, we should have been well clear by the time of Cody’s superb equaliser. We’d hit the woodwork what, 3 times by that point? They completely smothered Leicester in their own half, for pretty much the entirety of the first half, and wouldn’t let them breathe. Second half, they went up another gear and hammered that home. Helped by yet another half-time adjustment from Arne to change the game plan from swinging cross after cross in. The strengths of the excessively limited rat Conor Coady and Vestergaard. To playing around them in triangles and cutting balls back into the box. The very opposite of what Leicesters excessively limited CH’s are good at. Some of the attacking play at pace second half was sensational.

Yet another horrible, time wasting, play acting, low block team EASILY dispatched to yet again put to bed that ridiculous myth that we struggle against the lower end sides. 🤦‍♂️ All played out against the weird weather condition backdrop. It was iffy all day yesterday with dense fog coming and going. Heck, I still thought the game would be off when I left the boozer after Utd’s latest S show around 7:20 PM. You couldn’t see the floodlight’s walking on the ground. Then you get in and the swirling mist was mad. I don’t know what it was like up the top of the stands looking down, but from the Kop you couldn’t see the upper tiers as the mist swirled down from above. Not Arsenal 2007 bad. But not good conditions at all.

But not even Mother Nature can hinder this brilliant gang of Reds. In this historical season they are taking us on. I would call out the complete ineptitude of the officials once more. Along with the continued, absolute contempt of VAR for those of us actually in the ground with yet more disgraceful 3/ 4 minutes of pontificating whilst telling us nottin’. 🤬 But that would detract from another dominantly controlling Reds display and a mind blowing 22nd win from 26 games under Arne ….. Although what the mad corner routine was last night of stacking 4 or 5 beyond the back stick, then all charging in, was anyones guess? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣 The ‘chaos’ corner routine. Maybe it will work better when Trent has his crossing boots on.

Two shout-outs to two madly maligned defender’s before I close-

AndyRobbo was superb for the second straight game. Proving once more that when he gets rest, he’s still among the best left fulls in the league. Mad how so many, so readily, wrote him off.

And JMG is back to his elite level of league/ European Cup winning partnership with big Virg. You never thought you’d say this early season, but Konate most definitely doesn’t walk straight back in. Thats the level Joe is currently playing at.

A weekend off for me now as I can’t be A with that absolute sham of an athletics stadium in Stratford. Which is a shame as they have you counting down the hours to the next game in unadulterated excitement once more.

‘….. Come and behold them, We’re the Kings of Europe …..’

Up the best in class Reds!

Every year, they always wait until Xmas day to make you cry-

Every Christmas day …..

You may or may not remember, from last Christmas, Daire Gordon, meeting Jurgen after a video if him crying to YNWA went viral-

Now 13 years old,he is one of only seven people in the world with Crommelin Syndrome, a rare condition that affects the growth of his upper limbs and bones. And RTE in Ireland, for their ‘Kids My Story’ series, ‘What Daire Did Next’, filmed him over 6 months of his home, school and hospital life, to tell his inspiring story in his own words-

That was an emotional start to my Sunday.

Brilliant from RTE to continue bringing this superb young mans story to the World. One to DEFO watch on their player. Never ceases to amaze you the resilience of kids and their outlook on life. Impossible to feel down about your own life's tribulations when you watch someone as inspirational as Daire.

And a reminder, yet again, of just how privileged we were to have Jurgen live and work amongst us for nearly 8 years. I mean, we get to see that play out every week on the pitch now as we dominate, home and abroad, in large part, down to both the outstanding rebuild and vibrant young team he left Arne. And the top culture he worked so tirelessly to instil, on and off the pitch, through out all levels of the football club that made the transition to Slot so seamless and successful. And that includes how he made sure we as supporters would openly welcome the new man. Before he’d even left his post!

But his legacy is SO much more than being one of the greatest managers this club has ever had the privilege to employ. On a human level, he continues to be one of the best examples of everything this great City stands for. Like Shanks and Kenny, a genuine, proper Scouser. Without actually being from here.

We are excessively fortunate our football club is SO well run from the top on down that they recruited a man cut from the same cloth as Jurgen, with similar ideals and outlook on life. And Arne may very well build on the rock solid foundations Jurgen laid and have even more success. Like Bob did after Shanks all hose years ago.

But by God, like those fortunate enough to have experienced Bill first hand, do I miss not waking up to Jurgen's beaming smile and thoughts on pretty much everything through the day.

Recollections like with Daire just serve to remind you how exceptionally lucky we were the past 8 or so years to spend them together with Jurgen Norbert Klopp Esq.

Another superb, dominant, controlling away win from the best side in Europe to end 2024 in style.

Todays admin-

Title Countdown:

45 points down/ 47 to go.

Current PL unbeaten run:

3 Straight Wins/ 1 Straight CS.

Current unbeaten away PL run:
P 11 W 7 D 4 F 32 A 16 CS: 4
2 Straight Wins/ 1 Straight CS.

Another one ticked off on the procession to a record equalling 20th league title. This is WAY beyond ridiculous now. Since the complete anomaly against Forest back in mid-September, that’s 23 games unbeaten/ 20 wins. Bringing Slots historical start to a mind blowing 23 wins from his first 27 games. And only one defeat. And the proper frightening thing for every other side across Europe, is we’re only just beginning to go up through the gears. There’s still LEVELS to go and we’re purring already to the tune of a magnificent 11 away goals in London in the space of a week. Phenomenal what they are doing.

I was just talking to someone earlier about the eerily similar vibes Jurgen’s second great vintage (he left us the present of completely rebuilding the side for the long haul lest we forget), has to his first great side and their utterly dominant title win in 2019/20. It doesn’t matter WHO they play, at absolutely NO point do you ever feel they’ll lose a game and won’t find a way to at least a point. Right from the first day of pre-season theres been that vibe that they are all business. Mentality monsters and then some. Made even more remarkable that its happening under a different coaching regime for the first time in 8 years. Under a very similar, if slightly different HC who has added his own little tweaks to the core principles Jurgen has instilled throughout the football club. All of which is resulting in almost football perfection that is currently on course for a historical season. With absolutely NO signs of that changing any time soon.

The only downside to today was the apparent hammy to JMG. (Kudos to Jarell for fitting seamlessly back in.). One of the unluckiest footballers around Joe. Hopefully it’s not bad. But then thankfully we have Konate back ready to take up the slack again.

And the real sad news to learn before KO of West Ham and PL legendary goalie Ludek Miklosko revealing he has been battling cancer over the past two years. God speed big man in enjoying the rest of your days as peacefully and comfortably as possible with your loved ones. Always played the game with a smile on his face and an 11 year, 400 plus game career in England at the top level deserves everyone’s respect.

Boss end to 2024 that leaves you salivating over whats to come in 2025. And if Everton could finally get relegated, that would be perfect this coming year too. 😁🤞🏻🤞🏻

Happy New Year one and all.

Up the relentless, quadruple surging Reds!

Just thinking about the past year with the mighty Reds …..

Yanno’, among all the boss memories on the pitch, my absolute personal highlight of 2024 was Jurgen’s farewell gig at the Arena.

A proper celebration of a bona fide Scouse legend, who just happens to be German, and just what he means to everyone on a level only Shankly and Dalglish can match. Utterly brilliant in every respect that you wouldn’t have got in any other City. Or at any other football club.

Just a uniquely Scouse occasion that will live as long in the memory as any Barcelona game or any Mane last minute Derby winner. Top music, with the Zutons in particular rocking the house down. Bishop was great. And Jurgen was just Jurgen. So many moments and memories.

Just a top, TOP Scouse occasion where we had one final night out with, as mentioned above, two lads from Ayrshire and Glasgow aside, the single best man to ever happen to this football club. I’m chuckling writing this remembering he said that now he’s joined McCartney and Webster as being the three local lads to sell out the Arena, he’s now a proper Scouser. 🤣🤣🤣

You were perfectly right from the get-go mate. You just fit and got us in EVERY way. Politically. Socially. Morally. You completely transformed our great club and made us all remember just what going the match is all about. Forgetting all your troubles, having a laugh with yer mates, and losing yourself in the sheer enjoyment and pride in your team. And just what can be achieved through sheer hard graft and sticking together as one. Unity is STRENGTH!

To see him in absolute bits when his name was being belted out by 12k of his adoring public one last time at the end …..

What a fella’. What a top, top Scouse celebration of, genuinely, one of our own.

Boss, standout highlight of 2024.

And now we look forward to even more stupendous moments and memories with the team he put in place. And our new Dutch Meister taking them on to possibly even greater heights in 2025 and beyond.

Have a happy NY wherever you are in the World. 🥂

Real Madrid approach Liverpool to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold. No offer made but #RMFC willing to pay for 26yo England intl. Rebuffed immediately. No figures discussed but #LFC to talk again with right-back’s camp soon. W/ @JamesPearceLFC @TheAthleticFC
PR talk so IF he does leave they can say oh we tried to make a deal. Everyone knows in the midst of a PL and CL push no team would sell one of their star players even if he's contract is expiring.

Ive resigned myself to losing him and like I said months ago it's a combination of poor timing with Klopp leaving and poor planning from the club. However a local lad going for a free is never a good look. On one hand I kinda understand Trents POV as what more does he have to prove as he's won it all with his boyhood club. Yet on the other hand I cant stand the club he's going too and the underhanded tactics and just everything about them rubs me the wrong way.

Oh dear Araenal. Not that they were ever involved in any title race, but without Saka, they’ll do well to make top 4.

*Sings ….: ‘Hand it over, Hand it over, Hand it over Man-ches-ter!’

The match can be summed up by Virgil giving Trent daggers as another cross comes in after spending the whole match shouting at him. Fooking ell picked today of all days to drop a disasterclass like that.
