Take both if price is right imo

I'd rather go for a more younger ambitious option than De Jong, kind of liked we pulled Rojo out from nowhere, be great if we could do something like that but for a CM obviously.

We need some experience and cool heads too.

Maybe LVG sees De Jong as a stop gap till Jan coz is cheap, then bring in the Stroot :)

anchester United are in advanced talks to sign Angel Di María fromReal Madrid for a transfer fee which could rise as high as £60 million.

If the fee is agreed and comes close to that figure it would smash the record paid by a Premier League club - £50 million by Chelsea to Liverpool for Fernando Torres – and would be a real statement of intent by United who hope to make three signings before the transfer window closes.

Di María would be an important addition to the United squad having been informed he can leave Real and with Paris Saint-Germain having walked away – for now – after coming close to agreeing deal for the 26-year-old Argentinian.

Negotiations were re-opened on Thursday with United, until that point, having balked at Real’s asking price and also Di María’s personal demands.

But despite having opened talks to sign a possible alternative, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Douglas Costa, United have decided to take the plunge and make an enquiry for Di María.

United have been encouraged by the player and Real that a deal can now be concluded although Douglas remains a possible, cheaper target although the Brazilian is also wanted by Atlético Madrid, Roma, AC Milan and Monaco.
United are prepared to sell Danny Welbeck, who would prefer to stay but would consider a move to Everton or Tottenham Hotspur, and remain in the market for defenders.
They could still move for Roma’s Mehdi Benatia or Ajax’s Daley Blind.
There is a long list of players United are prepared to sell, but they are struggling to find suitors given their high wages.
Welbeck is not a high earner but could command a big fee and while his departure would be a surprise, Van Gaal is considering using Adnan Januzaj through the middle and could also promote 18-year-old James Wilson.

This may have been discussed, but as good as Di Maria is (and he is fantastic) where does he play and for all the money spent, does it even strengthen United considering CAM and strikers are pretty much sorted for United??

Di Maria to Manchester United is now 'all fixed' by Jorge Mendes

Real Madrid have got it all figured out according to their current most friendly newspaper El Confidencial. They want a bright new shiny toy and what better one right now than James Rodriguez. The Colombian is the planet's most fashionable footballer to want right now and Florentino Perez will have eyes twinkling at the thought of his big unveiling at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

That Angel Di Maria had a great season last time around is largely irrelevant. That the Argentine was man of the match as Real Madrid finally got La Décima in the Champions League is already forgotten. Di Maria is being ushered toward the exit and a new boy being lined up.
The character assassination has started, albeit tamely, just like it did last year with Mesut Ozil. It's Di Maria's fault, he wants too much money and is not committing himself enough to Real Madrid in interviews. The flying winger also made the grave mistake of suggesting that Lionel Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo, which one Spanish newspaper put up as a sure sign that he's off.
Super agent Jorge Mendes has been tasked with sorting out a transfer and El Confidencial say he's sending Di Maria to Manchester United.
Di Maria to Manchester United is 'Todo solucionado' or 'All fixed', from the perspective of the agent's plan, and would allow Perez to get James Rodriguez.
Despite saying that, El Confidencial also mention the interest of AS Monaco but say that club doesn't have the pull of Manchester United. Juventus have also been linked but if they couldn't scrape together €25m for Alexis Sanchez then it's a wonder how they'll get anywhere near to Real Madrid's asking price of €50m.
Jorge Mendes is said to have already launched his 'Operación salida... y entrada', the exit of Di Maria and entrance of Rodriguez.

He's an actual LVG signing so i'm guessing he has a plan.

Telegraph now reporting we are hoping to get 3 players in by end of window, our club seems to be briefing a lot tonight... must be confident, hope it isn't too confident and spoils something.
