Also, ****** ****, don't want Begovic. Replacing DDG with Begovic is a joke. Get Lloris in to go that, or if don't want to spend so much, go for Bernd Leno with Valdes and Johnstone as backups.

No, him leaving is not the reason for the hate. You get used to some players leaving. Got used to Ronaldo leaving, and for anyone who watched that generation, there was nothing recently that hurt more than that. But Ronaldo was decent enough about it, gave the club good bargaining power, and the club got good compensation (RM still got a ****** steal, but it was a fair enough deal all around).

de Gea, by no definition of the term has done the above. He could have had a higher RC to Madrid, or had an agreement with us to move to Madrid, while signing an extension which would give us more bargaining power. He let his contract run down, and he wants to move, and is literally forcing our hand. That is what is ******* off.

That he wants to move is not the issue. The way he has gone about it is the issue. That is the reason for the hate, not him leaving. There wasn't this much hate when Ronaldo left, but de Gea is getting that much for that reason (atleast from me).
Oh right I can see that part. But we need to see what's going on 1st as to how he will leave, we simply don't know yet . I just did not get all the he can **** off comments!

He's also put himself in the best position to get the move he wants. If he's done it on purpose then yeh he's **** on the club in a way but if its something he really wants and its whats best for him then why should he care what anyone else thinks?

Bit rich that, considering you can't take into account he has a personal life. A partner that he wants to marry, who from all reports wants to relocate back home. He is Spanish, Madrid born and a Madrid club are showing interest in him. His family live in Madrid.

Do you hate him for that? Do you hate him for missing his family? Do you hate him for possibly being home sick? Do you hate him for wanting to be close to his Spanish family and friends?

I don't mind him leaving for all the reasons mentioned but decent thing to do is sign a contract so that atleast club which made him the player he is gets decent price. We paid 18Million pounds, invested so much money and time to improve him and on top of that paid good wages and now at the very first chance he is taking club for a ride.

At least Suarez and Ronaldo made sure selling clubs gets the money their talent deserve and for that reason alone they will be heroes forever for their clubs.

I repeat he can **** off he wants to leave without signing contract. I don't respect any player who puts ManUtd in weaker position. It might be Rooney, De Gea, Mata or whoever.

Begovic > Lloris. He makes mistakes so often but somehow still rated as one of the best. For the money Levy will ask, it's better to go for Begovic. Better keeper, cheaper fee, cheaper wages and also very good commanding of area which Lloris is very poor.

Why should he? He doesn't owe you a thing, and its not like his conduct has been awful or anything. He just hasn't gone out of his way to give you a really strong negotiating position, hardly worth the amount of hate he's getting.

Reactions and overall ability as a keeper, Lloris > Begovic. More expensive, but there you have it. I'd still prefer someone younger (Leno) if we don't get Lloris, since we also have Valdes as backup. A couple of years, Leno becomes main keeper, with Johnstone his understudy.

I've heard that Koval is also decent, apparently, but haven't seen him play, so can't comment on him.

No, he doesn't 'owe' us anything. But when he puts the club in such a position, it'd be rich to not expect hate. You tend to ensure that the club receives adequate compensation relating to your talent. Ronaldo did that, Suarez did that, heck, Gundogan is doing that. DDG is literally forcing our hand by running down his contract. And in this day of money, per se. He may not 'owe' us anything, but if you don't expect hate after that, then it's thick.

But if he signs a new contract he wont be sold. Simple as that. So how is he going to get his move? We are only selling him because he wants to go and we are cashing in. Do you think we would even look at an offer if he had 5 years left on his contract?

Fergie always knew from day 1 that Ronaldo wanted to play for Real Madrid. It was his dream. Fergie and Ronaldo had a bond thats hard to get. Fergie ASKED Ronaldo to stay one more year and he'd let him go. Ronaldo did out of his respect for Fergie, so as promised, a year later Fergie allowed Ronaldo to leave. This is a completely different situation.

De Gea came over here as a child basically. To a new country, left everything and everyone behind coz Fergie believed in him. When everyone was going mad coz he dropped a ball or made a mistake, Fergie was there in his corner. Then he started to perform and has been our most consistent player for the last 3 years and 2 of those years without the person that backed him all the way in his corner. In the last 2 years, he has seen his most influential figure gone, the team drop down a few levels and he's now in a positoin where teams are genuinely interested in him. He just wants to go home, and knew with a long contract there is now way we would sell. Not like we need the money now is it. So this is his only chance to get back home. He wants to go back to Madrid and only Real are in a position to buy him, and just so happens they need a keeper. De Gea knows he'll be there for the next 10 years as number 1. At home.

Any of us in a similar position in our everyday life wouldnt think twice about doing what you want and whats best for yourself and your future. He shouldnt be any different.

I agree tbh. The funny thing is yes there's a good chance he will leave. But he might stay yet.

.

There are 100s of players who were sold after signing contract extension. Apart from ABUs no one gave **** about De Gea's mistakes and most ManUtd fans were behind him.

Support he got in his very first game was unbelievable. Good luck trying to rewrite history. SAF, Club staff and fans were always behind him except media people.

Also all this stuff about wanting to go back home, ffs he is not in Andaman jail, he is playing for one of the biggest club in the world getting handsome salary and just few hours from home. It's not like he is playing in MLS or Australia and wants to go back.

Why doesn't he owe us anything? He was signed for big money and on big contract. Club spent so much time and money to improve him and make him the player he is today. At least he should have done a decent thing and negotiated with club about signing extension and leave if so and so money is paid. If Madrid rate him so highly then obviously they will pay that.

And also he owe us for all the support he received from day 1 from everyone associated with the club.

Just get the second best German keeper and you know you're set! They are usually just as good as their best GK and big plus is - best German GK is usually playing for Bayern so they won't feel the need to try and buy other keeper.

Bernd Leno is everything we need.

Great input.

It's cringeworthy to see some fans wishing him well for leaving for madrid just because he helped us to reach 4th place. FFS we are not a midtable club.

Helped is an understatement. Good job 4th isnt midtable eh

Whats wrong with wishing him well IF he does leave. He has been nothing but good for us as a player.

Then what? Carried whole team on his back like Ronaldo did? 4th is not a midtable and we are not a midtable small club to be happy with 4th place.

Because after all the time and effort he is ******* the club at the very first chance he got?

Hows he ******* the club? He could be just have easily said nothing and let his contract run down and gone for free.

That's exactly what he is doing at this moment. Letting the contract run down and will leave on free if not sold this summer.

Edit: I'm done on this topic. Hopefully club invests properly on GK. Can't ignore it, one of the most important position on the pitch. Need a calming presence who can organize defense.
