The Manchester United Thread

Congratulations to Rooney. **** of a goal. **** of an achievement. Been a **** of a player his career.

Can't see that record ever being broken given the way players look for at least one big move in their careers now. Fantastic achievement to beat a genuine legend in Sir Bobby. Who was as classy and humble as always in appreciation. To break such a record is a ridiculous achievement in itself at a club like Utd. To do it in 212 less games than the previous incumbent is just phenomenal.

Plus it's kinda' ****** brilliant to think Utd's top goalscorer probably for the rest of time is what Utd fans hate more than anything. A Scouser haha! (H).

Although that will continue to be lost on the dimwits who obsessively sing their anti-L'pool ***** most every Utd game obliviously. Sighs.

I'm gutted for Sir Bobby in a way, I mean he forever will be my all time United legend. The **** he went through and then achieved everything in the game. Rooney has been class for United but will never in my eyes be in the bracket of Sir Bobby, no one is to be honest.

Utmost respect for that man. Genuinely sound, nice fella'. Unlike many, particularly in the modern, Ferguson era, he's one Utd stalwart who has never had anything but nice things to say about L'pool. From a completely different age whom many could learn off. Ironic as his brother is a complete gobshite in comparison. (No offence to any Leeds fans but I can't stand Jack.).

Whisper it quietly, in a related point, but, even though I never remember him playing due to being too young, my favourite all time British player who never played for L'pool (but should and would have from Huddersfield if Shanks had been backed. Frigging directors back then) is Denis Law. Out of the same mould of Sir Bobby. Wonderful footballer and a terrific man. Had the privilege of sharing a train journey from Euston back up to Picadilly with him many moons ago. Well, I say 'shared' ..... it was more me stumbling down the train ****** looking for my seat and as I was walking through first class he was sat there so I plonked myself down at his table and started chatting. He was fantastic, wasn't arsed at all and sorted the guard out for me being in the wrong place. Riveting listening to him to talk those couple of hours or so on some of his experiences.

Two top fella's who'll always have the respect of Liverpudlians older than myself who were lucky enough to see them play.

I dont think it matters one jot whether he had nice things to say about Liverpool tbh. The likes of Carragher and Gerrard have never had much good to say towards Manchester. Sir Bobby is an absolute gent and a legend, but he would be one irrespective of how he viewed Liverpool

Gutted to see Goss leaving! One **** of a player and been very good since returning from injury. No doubt he will go on to have a good career. Would of been like for like Carrick replacement. Hope if all three parties agree we can have a by back option.

He's nothing like Carrick.

Yes he is very much like Carrick! Only since he has came back this season from injury he's been a bit more BTB CM. before that he was the one who sat deep setting up attacks with his very good short and long forward passing range. One **** of a sweet left foot. Even remember speaking to Tony Parks Utd youth historian a few years back at an u21s game. And he was doing a piece on Goss and saying the exact same thing.

The historian is wrong then. Being a regista is more than good distribution. There are plenty of great technicians with limited brains. He never will be good enough.

Didn't realised you watched our reserves every week or live sometimes. He's not just a technician and a passer. He is also a good reader of the game and solid defensively. And will only improve on all aspects as he develops more. But hey that's your opinion on him.

Don't really watch reserves much but I do know of a few decent youngsters.

A few bits of news.

John Doughty has left the club and returned to the USA. He was unable to get anywhere near the action for the U/23's all season and it was probably best for both player and club that he return home to try to get regular games.

Millen Baars is still waiting for international clearance.

Sean Goss is talking to QPR about a potential transfer. He doesn't want to leave but doesn't see a pathway through to the first team. He hasn't made any decision as yet.

Mason Greenwood, a very exciting U/15 talent who was injured a few months ago is back in training.

Ivory Coast are out of AFCON after they lost 1-0 to Morocco in a must win game for them, so got Bailly back as quick as we could

Calum Gribbin could go down that route is he isn't careful. If Lingard's brains and Gribbin's technical ability were mixed together, you'd have some player!
