The Manchester United Thread

Correct me if I'm wrong, but TFM should ideally have been kept this season. Aside from cover at RB, he can also cover CB, and more importantly, DM, acting as a cover to Matic. He would have gotten minutes, and gelled in with the squad.

But I dunno, especially if TFM is out on loan, and Darmian is also going out, then we are rather short on RB. But can tide over. LB and CB were a must, can kinda see us addressing atleast a CB. Very irritating if we don't get anyone in within the window closing.

As for the early window ending, it is ridiculous to use that as an excuse. Every club knew about that and the WC before, should ideally have gotten the window sorted before that. Kinda feel Liverpool actually got it right, and finished their business early on. Honestly, the way we handle transfers post Fergie era is kinda embarassing. Sure, we do get some good ones in, but when it comes to addressing out weaknesses (or balance), we always fall that one (or two) steps short. Kinda feel we need a specialist DoF rather than Woody handling this stuff.

At Rb we have Valencia, Dalot, Young. At DM we have Matic, Herrera, Periera and Fred who played there for Shaktar on occasions he’s not better than any of those players. We have plenty of cover. Same goes for CB even more so when we get another one in.

CBJ gone out on loan to Scunthorpe btw.

Tbh we have handled transfers in and out pretty bad way before Fergie left!

yeah i think we can all agree that during saf great reign there was some shocking transfer activity.the most notable off the top of my head kleberson,bebe,bellion,djemba-djemba.......and plenty more

Alderweireld sounds like a formality, and I couldn't be anymore delighted. Like I said, no-brainer between Matic and Dier last year, no brainer this year. We will (hopefully, fingers crossed) end up with the superior foreign player.

I bet Maguire was a half target/half smokescreen tbh.

Rojo and Darmian looking to leave this window. Shaw and Young in there last year. Jones can’t stay fit. Might keep Smaldini. But won’t be surprised to see most gone by the end of next summer.

Thats the thing though he’s not a key player anymore. He wants to leave and Poch wants him gone. We will have to pay through the nose no doubt.
 
If you get rid of 7 players, you usually need to replace them with similar numbers. Cant see it happening.

We won’t need to replace similar numbers. We are bloated in defence. Plus we have players at the club already to fill some of those numbers.
