The Manchester United Thread

Not sure if you have been reading my posts properly mate. I know what it feels like when your club is made into a circus by Jose. Thats why I have been advocating to sack him all this while. Just pointing out the utter hypocrisy on this thread when it comes to that.
The club was going to ratshit before they gave Jose the job he's just delayed the process by winning the Europa League and coming second. Jose was a risk which the useless businessmen running the club thought would pay off. It was never going to happen. The result is a club being turned into a joke by moneygrabbers from the top downwards.

blimey that was a ride, somehow got the win.someone needs to lock them in the dressing room, jose included, and remind them what a privilege it is that they are at this great club.I would sweat blood to have worn that shirt but dont see many out there that feel the same.sign of the times maybe

That second half to me hasn't shown that suddenly Mourinho has changed.... it just shows how we can play when given more attacking emphasis and creative freedom.

Look back to our win against City last season away from home... Mourinho only takes shackles off when we're losing.... he still needs to go.

To add to the evenings hilarity since TOD decided to be a ***. Just 3 months ago. But ofc, I am the one who is trolling unnecessarily.
At the time that post was spot on and I wasnt the only one who said the same or similar. You only seem to pop up when Utd lose. And I’ve slated him plenty and never had any love in for him lol

That second half was most fun I've had watching United for **** of a long time, if only we had a manager who could produce that every week. We clearly have the players to do so, as tonight has shown.

I actually think we played better against Spurs despite the loss.

The players can attack when given a free rein to do so, unfortunately Jose doesn't allow it, with any luck there will be a P45 issued tomorrow with the name Jose Mario dos Santos Mourinho on it. A last minute goal should not save him after that first half performance.

That second half was the absolute bare minimum for a United team. Actually run around the pitch, close down, get the ball and attack quickly. Show that your putting an effort in and run until you can't run any more. Do that and you win games. Simple as that. That 2nd half was how United should be. There is no excuse at all for why those players couldn't run like that and put that much effort into every game this season. Not just 45 minutes at 2-0 down. Now they need to go out every game and play like that and the results will come.

Mata was absolutely amazing in that central role, I want to see him more in a centre midfield trio and I want to see Matic in Left Centre Back again! But who's gonna be our 6? Fellaini, Pereira, Herrera or Fred?

Martial - Lukaku - Alexis

Pogba - ??? - Mata

Shaw - Matic - Smalling - Dalot

Now that is over I can now look forward to seeing who my team (Altrincham) get in the 4th Qualifying round of the FA Cup after their 4-2 win at Bradford PA today. Yes Alty are my team and have been for years even if I can't get to see them play due to my exile down South.

Board should act now while we've at least got a few week break to replace him. But they won't because they never do it soon enough.

We will get torn a new one by Chelsea and Juve if we play anything like we did today. That 2nd half was good by our recent standards but had no shape at all. It was literally just attack attack attack, I'm not complaining but there is literally nothing sustainable about what Mourinho is doing. Style and selection.

you are bang on and its exactly how i feel.I just dont see where this mourinho team is going, they are always so slow out of the blocks and we only attack out of desperation.still think mourinho isnt the right man for this group of players but can see him being there til may

If Mourinho left in the summer, he would've been a success. Steadied the ship, improved the squad quality and won a few trophies along the way. Staying on for these few months is the difference between his tenure being a decent one and a disastrous one. He's a 2 year manager.

Huge congrats to #MUAcademy defender @EthanLaird1, who has signed his first professional contract with #MUFC!

Manchester United have spoken to former Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta and had contact with the club’s current sporting director Fabio Paratici, as the Old Trafford hierarchy proceed with plans to remodel their football structure, amid the growing uncertainty over Jose Mourinho’s job.
The feeling now is that the nature of the 3-2 comeback against Newcastle United has bought the Portuguese time, but executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had already long become emboldened by plans to introduce a more modern continental model that didn’t place such prominence and importance on a single manager at the top.
Along those lines, United have been interested in putting in place a full technical staff, as opposed to just a director of football.

Paratici was a figure they were looking at very early for his successful work in the transfer market, only for Marotta to also become a possibility. The latter has just left Juventus, with a lot of questions about why, especially given he was credited with a huge role in restructuring the Italian champions over the last decade so they are now an example for modern clubs.

Attempting to bring the two as a package would actually appeal to United, with some sources - somewhat ironically - mentioning how it could be similar to how neighbours Manchester City effectively imported the Barcelona technical structure in the last few years.
Italian sources however say that could still be difficult to pull off. Paratici has recently renewed his deal with Juventus, and is minded to stay loyal to a successful project he has played a key part in building.
Out of work, Marotta is a greater possibility, but United would have a lot of competition and it is said the 61-year-old would greatly want to improve his English if he were to take such a job. That means something in Italy is likelier, but United feel they can put together a persuasive package
