The Manchester United Thread

Well, yes, it's similar to Pogba's hairstyle. Always garners more attention and criticism than it warrants. Mainly because people are used to a 'normal' professional outlook, even on hair or dancing. Honestly, I don't particularly care about either, as long as they do their job on the pitch and perform well.

Who actually cares what he does in his offtime on holiday?

People need to spend less time focusing on what people do in their off time

As long as he trains and plays professionally people need to get over it. By all accounts he's an exceptionally good trainer and had to be, because they thought he was far too small to play football for years. It's why he debuted so late

He posts this jokey stuff throughout all the season tbf, can see why he winds people up.

He doesn't wind people up. People get unnecessarily would up by it. There's a big difference.

OFFICIAL: I've had it confirmed that these 15 players will join the U18 side for the 2019/20 season.

The 15 players in green have signed contracts!

Alfie Hughes & Mipo Odubeko were offered contracts but have not signed.

Noam Emeran was signed from Amiens not coming through the u16s. Fantastic u18s team again this season. And I know we are in talks for 3 more signings atm.

Johan, Mateo, Bjiorn, Dillon are all new signings so far. Emeran is a highly rated FWD we signed last season started off on fire in the u15/16s then got injured and only just returned.

Yedder is a very good player, but i'd prefer that he complemented the squad rather than substitute Lukaku.
He doesn't have the same goal record.

I think Haller would be a better option. He's younger and have some characteristcs that we lack in attack. He can make Rashford and Lukaku better because he can play as a target man and is a good and creative passer.

No chance for Haller now. They have lost 2 STRs already this window. Yedder would be a great addition if Lukaku left. And suit Ole style of play more. Scored 30 gls last season so don’t know why your picking on his goal record think he got 25 and then 20 the season before that. Infact just checked and he’s scored 20 to 20+ gls since 2014/15 season

Yes, he had a great season. But he didn't score nearly as much in his previous two seasons in La Liga. That's what i mean by not having the same goal record than Lukaku. Also, he has a similar style to Lukaku. He has few passes per match and is on his best when he makes runs behind the defense.

Lukaku can't even stick the fight with Rashford let alone with Yedder, lets not be counting on a player that wants to leave Brunoh!

I take your point but honestly Yedder does suit Ole's style better than Lukaku.

A mate of mine in Newcastle said local papers are saying Ashley will look to cash in on Longstaff for 20m with some add ons. Good price if it happens.

Good for us but my god Ashley is an utter **** what he has done to Newcastle and their fans.

A new #MUFC contract for @MarcusRashford

Rashford: “It hurts every day to see where we are now, to where we’ve been in the past. I use that pain as motivation. It makes me more determined to put the club back where they belong.” #mufc [Times]

Rashford: “Me being a fan changes the emotional side of it. Say we lose a game, it affects me more than it should because I’m a fan.” #mufc [Times]

Rashford: “It is a huge sense of pride and a huge feeling for me to sign the contract. Manchester United are one big family. Some clubs don’t have that, it’s just a football club. That’s why Manchester United are more than a football club to me.” #mufc [Times]

Marcus Rashford agrees incentivised £200,000-a-week deal @ManUtd to 2023 + option for another year. “
“Man Utd has been everything in my life since age of 7. This club has shaped me both as a player and as a person so it is such a privilege every time I get the opportunity to wear the shirt.”

Hey, ZZ! I'd rather go after someone younger like Timo Werner or Haller. Yedder is a short term solution (he'll be 29 in august). And i honestly think a rw should be a priority for us over a new striker.

Tbh I would rather have an experienced STR come in who has a record of scoring 20gls a season. What’s the point of signing Werner. Rashford is clearly Oles No1 and Werner ain’t gonna come to play games off the bench or in the cups. Plus he will go to Bayern for free next Summer anyway.

So, @ManUtd have indeed offered £70m for Harry Maguire. @LCFC board are aware of Maguire's wishes to make the move. Not the type to agitate but would be wrong to say he is happy to stay. However, Leicester's valuation is over £70m so bit of work to do on this one. Maguire doesn’t want to be priced out of a move.

Maguire is good tbf, I rate him more than Stones and barely puts a foot wrong for club/country. England's best fully established CB by a mile but the price is going to get ridiculous if they don't accept close to £70m.

Posted it in transfers, but will post it here, I personally prefer Dias, but whether Lukaku stays or not, if this is what we end up with ( Maguire, AWB, Longstaff, Fernandes, James ), we really can't complain overall, I think even ZZ would at attest to that. Looked to work on virtually every single problem area with a clear type of strategy in mind. whether people agree with that plan is upto them, but we can't say that he doesn't have a clear idea, which can't be said for Mourinho (LVG did, and in hindsight, we should have given him more time)

Relatively happy if we end up with that in the scheme of things I'd consider it a good window. Still be a bit disappointed that we haven't got a specialist RW especially with the players available but hey, that's life I guess.
