Is it good though? I mean having old coaches that worked with Fergie does not mean it will work again. Looking at his resume after United he did not do much and even did not stay more than a year somewhere + having gaps between jobs.
Feel Machester United is in place where trying old players as coaches and bring former coaches back as they worked with Fergie, thinking this is sure formula to work out.

Rene was the best coach Fergi ever had. Queiroz was a defensive mastermind, but Rene was in charge of attacking movement. There's nothing wrong about surrounding yourself with the people you know and trust, such as Carrick and Phelan (who was never as influential as Queiroz) and not potentially Rene. But, as mentioned before, are they good enough now? Football is evolving as we speak.

But its a correct move. Solskjaer isn't tactically astute, get yourself people who are and trust them.
