The Manchester United Thread

The only bad thing about this win is the Arsenal fans will be p*****g themselves with excitement that the league is over. Which it isn't by any stretch of the imagination.
It's a bonus for me. Arsenal winning >Liverpool and City.

First half was lacking in quality barring the Rashford chance. Still stifled city while not doing much ourselves (outside a couple openings).

Our start to the 2nd half was diabolical. Antony as a false 9 was a mistake that need not repeated. He offered 0 focal point, couldn’t hold onto the ball for more than 2 seconds. For all of Martial’s faults, he is actually good with his hold up play. Since we had no one to bring our attacking players into play, city just suffocated us for a good 15-20 mins and eventually got their breakthrough. They really didn’t kick into gear after that goal and the game quickly became a drab affair…that is until the 72nd minute with the Garnacho sub. Immediately, we got better when Rashford got moved up to, Antony to the right and Bruno to the middle. We got extremely fortunate with our equalizer being allowed via another VAR howler. We exploited city’s vulnerable mental state almost immediately after with a quick 2nd goal to see out a game.

Overall, it wasn’t the greatest derby but you’d rather win these than not albeit controversial circumstances. I didn’t care much for this result today as caring meant I expect a title challenge. It’s still a nice bonus and who would’ve thought we’d be one point behind city halfway through the season?

Bruno Fernandes has now scored 39 premier League goals. Since his debut in February 2020, no Premier League midfielder has scored more.

POTM. 👑

Get F! Theres no way our press has been that high! I mEan we’re evolving into far more of a possession based, Dutch-esq team anyway with a new profile of midfielder in particular.

But regardless of that, our press has been a disorganised, non-existent mess this season!

Not ‘avvin that on the eye test we’re the 5th highest counter pressing side. We’re mentally and physically shot and getting outworked by every F side we play!
I would actually say Liverpool revert back to the high press when they’re losing which has happened…a lot hence why the numbers are skewed

Ten Hag to @viaplaysportnl: "This is why I came to Manchester United. This club is a monster. Old Trafford is a stadium with the right vibe, if you manage to light the fire, you get an amazing experience."

That celebration after the second goal 😍

Bruno Fernandes: "Now we’re a proper team. In the past we have all been maybe looking out for ourselves as individuals." [@btsportfootball]

City were wank, but Bruno's goal being alllowed is just laughably wrong.
I agree. City felt underwhelming. Barring their goal, they didn’t actually create anything of substance in terms of chances.

The offside decision was just flat out wrong and I’d be ****** if that was given against United

The rules of the game are well and truly ******.

We had the same last week where Mo's goal should never have stood. And Wolves should have scored a winner. Three goals in two Sat'day's, across 2 different games, that were beyond farcical in being allowed/ disallowed. But that's the changes to the rules the ****** have made.

And as an added bonus, nearly 5k of us get to relive last Sat'days ***** all over again Tuesday in a game nobody wants to be at.

Fun times.
