Lol, there was definitely a fee especially considering Newcastle paid £5 million to get him from Brighton.Seems like no fee involved in the end

Even if we did it won’t be anything near the reported £20m they wanted likely not even near half I would guess. Ineos played this well that’s for sure.Lol, there was definitely a fee especially considering Newcastle paid £5 million to get him from Brighton.
If that was the case why did Newcastle want him in the first place, let alone demand £20m for him to leave. Smacks of sour grapes to me.If you ask most Newcastle fans, they’ll tell you Ashworth left most of the recruitment to Steve nickson
Exactly. It’s most likely the reason they don’t want the fee being disclosed. They been done right over after playing billy big balls! If that was the case why did Newcastle want him in the first place, let alone demand £20m for him to leave. Smacks of sour grapes to me.

It will come out eventually. So we will see. But the closet I can find on the fee is around 5m which is a way off 20m. Be interesting to know.I'd say thinking the Saudis haven't been handsomely compensated, when they held all the cards, is as naive as some of the Braithwaite takes.
