Think you're mixed up, it's the other way round.
Average bar 2-3 games where he was excellent.
How's Otamendi doing?

How's Otamendi doing?
Linked with James Rodriguez, Spanish media saying Madrid want to sell him and recoup the money they paid for him.
According to Marca, ManUtd are interested in the signing. If we sign Jose then we will see lot of Mendes clients moving to United, it was like that before, now it will be even more.
On the player, not sure how to react. Might end up like Mata where he won't have runners for him to pick passes.
James can run himself though which helps, closer to Silva, but a better finisher. Solves that right wing goalscorer creator issue in a brilliant manner. Therefore it's not happening.
Yeah but he excels as #10. He was brilliant when he played centrally last season and Madrid were on some winning streak. They started to lose games once he was injured.
If we sign him he should play as #10. My issue is again we will be signing player who is not that quick.
Very good player but not sure we are the right team for him, at least not under Van Gaal.
How's Otamendi doing?
Not as bad as Mangala or Demichelis but thanks for asking.
You know when you are a part of a shabby defence especially a partner in CB you're most likely going to look **** anyway? When it is your first season especially and he is trying to integrate into new country/team.
Doesn't make him a bad signing, if they sort out another consistent decent CB partner for him he'll no doubt start to show the form he is capable of.
I don't even see how anyone would anticipate Otamendi as a bad signing considering how good he was last season for Valencia, we're not talking an average season, we're talking an outstanding season. Plus I put quite a few names out there for CB because we did need one. Hence why most United fans are still clamouring for one this summer.
Plus Smalling has had shaky seasons and look at him this one, Otamendi could come back to life once their defense gets sorted out.
Otamendi has been below average, and not because he's being exposed. He's been making bad positional errors routinely, though not to the point that he should retire (like Demichelis) or should be sold (City are willing to sell Mangala for a big loss now). Otamendi would have played where Smalling is, and on that point we definitely didnt need that for 45m
We can all look retrospectively and say now that Otamendi has been below average/wouldn't buy. But that's football, you can only go on current form of last season for the most part, just like people will do for Leicester's players in the summer.
I just don't see how I am blamed for wanting Otamendi, there is plenty of United fans who fancied him and it's only now you can say... alright probably wouldn't of worked. I'll hold my hands up and say that if it makes people happy.
Any CB we sign would be a gamble, including this summer whether it's Laporte or Stones, **** just look at both of their forms this season and it has been below par for periods of the season.
I actually said it at the time too, repeatedly.
Yeh I remember you didn't want him to be fair but I know a lot of United fans did at the time. Moreso as they were just crying out for a CB.
But any CB we sign shall be a gamble, as their isn't a perfect option out there at the moment.
He could be a one season wonder. Not as bad as Mangala or Demichelis but thanks for asking.

If we werent owed the money by Valencia, i dont think we would have taken Otamendi at full price either. but for the 8mil cash, hes been fine. If Pelle knew how to play with a deeper defensive line he'd have been great.
Worth 8 for us, yes. Worth the 30 for you, No.
Good point, but in an inflated market in the summer coming yet again we're going to end up overpaying for any CB we get especially if as expected it is Stones or Laporte.
