How many £100 plus million transfers has there been? 2/3? And 2 of those were to a club not playing within FFP rules and backed by a whole state.

You’ll still get clubs that will go super nuts for exceptional talents. Not least attackers. But its just not viable, or indeed workable under FFP for that to become the norm.

Woodward was just asked in the conference call about the DoF and he seemed to do his very best not to give a straight answer. Makes me think we won’t get an announcement anytime soon. He said that the club have been making continual changes over the last 5 or so years and that the fruits of this labour have been and will be showing over the coming years as these changes aren’t easy to see from the outside. He pointed to the academy now churning out better players as a reward on the increased investment into it over the last few years.

Also said he’s very confident the rest of the renewals will be done before may.

75m won’t get you WC these days. People want Koulibaly there’s 100m+ straightaway. People talk about Neves well your looking at Lukaku money right there most definitely more. Add a top class FB and RW what people think we need. Well your looking at 50m+ for a FB not even WC! Then for a top draw attacker your looking at shelling out 100-140m plus again. That’s not even inc agents fees, signing on fees, bonuses, wages. I’m sure fans are getting more deluded each summer!

Look at the likes of Pool, Barca, Juve, Bayern. There going the way of signing to potential as of late to start there rebuilds. It’s simply not possible for clubs to go out and buy 4 WC players in one window anymore. If the coaching is right the age doesn’t matter!

You mention Lukaku. If he had stayed banging in goals at Everton. There’s absolutely no chance we would get him close to 75m in today’s market especially not with there new owners. And he’s not even deemed WC!

Like Scouse said there good players out there just need to be smart in the market hence the restructuring being key for me in recruitment.

We´re talking about a experienced CB since Ferdinand and Vidic left, and that was 4 years ago. We haven't had a reliable FB since Evra left. Since then, we signed Bailly, Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Darmian, Rojo. We don't need a top CB every transfer window. If we buy the right one, we don't sign another in the following seasons.

Think this is bollocks tbh. Didn’t disappear at all. He was the only one trying to make anything happen and was man marked out the game by at least 2/3 players sometimes. And when Lingard and Martial went off injured he had absolutely no one to pass to or making runs for him. He’s been fantastic under Ole and easily our best player against Spurs and Arsenal I fact best player by a mile full stop. Very strange criticism!

Why are we ignoring everything else he has done though against Spurs and Arsenal and everyone else for that matter we have played thus far. mentioned Pogba even before the tie so it was obvious that his plan was to mark him out of the game, you can't blame him for that. I agree with you we need an alternative threat in the team I've been saying this for a while, as soon as our left side of the attack is neutralised we don't have anything on the right. All we see is Young on the right and trying to lump in hopeless balls, we need a player on the RW who can beat a man and give teams something else to think about. If we have a direct threat on that right wing as well I think that would solve this. At the moment it's just no width there other than Young because Lingard despite his off the ball movement always goes inside.

Think we can all agree we need more from our right hand side. And more options if Ole wants to stick to this style of play. As for now like the man said himself he’s gonna have to figure out another game plan for when those certain players are.not available.
