lets put this simply, the SPL is an absolute joke, celtic and rangers have dominated that league for years, every now and again a team like Hearts or Aberdeen challenges them but it doesnt happen often, this is backed up by the fact SPL players cannot cut it in the prem except for Stiliyan Petrov, eg Shaun Maloney Georgios Samaras cannot cut it in the prem, the spl is the equivalent of the championship

You obviously know nothing about Scottish football, and just judge it by what you've seen on football manager. What a **** outlook that must be. So Petrov is the only player to have cut it at the highest level after being in Scotland? Are you forgetting, Gattuso, Arteta, Larsson, Hartson, Chris Sutton? Plus loads of others. Yeah Maloney failed at Villa but that wasn't a surprise, I've never rated him.. And Samaras was at City before Celtic so you haven't made any point in saying that.. Any Celtic or Rangers player could be in a top side.. Just because the old firm is in a terrible league mindless people assume they are only worthy of the Championship.. It's stupid.

Again... its really not a terrible league. Two teams dominate the title chase... in England, 4 teams dominate the title chase. In most countries a few teams dominate the honors. Scotland is no different. The quality of the league overall is very good. Its a second/third tier league. Id say first rate leagues are England, Spain and Italy, then the 2nd tier is France and Germany... Scotland is a step behind that... probably on par with the Portuguese league or Dutch league. There are a lot of leagues looking up at Scotland. Its one of the top 10-15 in the world.

I dont like the idea of a UK league as this would take away all the national teams identities and Fifa would then want a GB national team. I feel sorry for scottish football that it always seems to be Rangers and Celtic winning the honours but it is a weak league with little money and the two Glasgow clubs I think will fail in the EPL as they would not be strong enough to qualify for Europe on a regular basis as they do now.

The lack of money means that the old firm can't really buy top players and can't really afford players from other scottish clubs,hence the others gettin stronger and starting to catch up with them,this year the Gers only signed Rothen whilst Celtic went all French on us so not a lot of activity between the clubs in the SPL!Hibs can go top if beat us on saturday and the way we are playing it's very realistic!

No offence, but please do be serious. Jealous? The only way Rangers and Celtic would get the standard of players that English teams do is if Rangers and Celtic played in the premier league. That shows it's only going to benefit them and no other english teams, if anything it will damage mid table premier league teams chances of signing a player if Rangers and Celtic are in their league. So no, it's not jealousy, it's common sense. And they don't have bigger fans bases, it just seems it because they are in a league with "smaller" teams than them, yeah so there is some other good teams like Hibernian, Hearts, Dundee etc, but Rangers and Celtic only seem like big teams because they are consistantly challenging for the title in Scotland. Fulham, West Ham, Aston Villa and Wigan are all better teams and don't bother saying why aren't they in Europe because the premier league is of a much higher standard.

im sorry but are you crazy? i cant speak for rangers but BAR Man Utd there is no bigger team than celtic in the EPL... we got something like 12million fans, we aint just some jokey scots team, we got huge fanbases in America, Canada, Australia, Ireland, now Japan and China, and possibly korea soon as we got a korean on the way, we'll see how it goes. also not forgetting our fanbase in scotland and england also. oura attendances have falled to about 56000 which is poor, but alot of our fans who live near celtic park live in some of the poorest areas of the UK, but untill this season we got 60000 every week for st mirren, hamilton etc, we could easily upgrade our stadium to 80k and get full houses. Honestly, if you were getting the same wages, who would u play for, Wigan, Fulham, West Ham, **** Everton, Spurs, Villa, or celtic.


Also, the SPL would absolutely thrive if this happened, there would be bigger gates, i mean the other spl clubs rip their fans off and charge £30 for games against the old firm, imagine Aberdeen V Hearts in a title decider, it would be a full house. Aberdeen, Hearts , Hibs would easily get 30000 fans attending if not more, as long as they had some sort of TV income.

i wouldnt compare everton spurs and villa to celtic they are established clubs in the epl im not saying celtic wouldnt survive in the epl but dont get carried away its a very tough league and if you were in the epl now with the form your having yous would be lucky to be out of the relegation zone but honestly good luck if you do ever get there

Lol another mindless post. Just because you have a bigger fan base doesn't mean your bigger than any other team. The way Celtic are playing at the moment they don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as "Premier League". And yeah once again, YOU would thrive, there's no bonus for English football so why should we let it happen? All it would do is cause confusion and there is no point for it. Hearts, Hibernian and Dundee are catching you up in my opinion and I would worry about your position in YOUR league, and stop moaning and whining about how you want to come into this league. I would choose any of the Premier League teams that you mentioned over Celtic any day, they are all proven Premier League teams and all you are is a team that struggles to beat Hamilton (No offence to Hamilton fans ).

i cant speak for rangers, and celtic have more fans than them, but as Div said that estimate of about 10 or 12 million fans was made pre-UEFA cup final, Pre-Artur Boruc and Zurawski (as a result we have large fanbase in poland), pre-Nakamura (now big fanbase in japan) and pre-Zheng Zhi which could add a fanbase in china. sorry mate but Liverpool or Arsenal couldn't touch us, thats why there is a theory that celtic would be challenging man utd within 4 or 5 seasons, as we are already a global brand,.

as i saiD, Yeh Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have better teams currently but they dont have more fans i'm afraid mate...

i feel like we are going in circles, so never mind, but we do have more..... we got a bigger ground that arsenal (by like 300 seats), liverpool or chelsea and up untill the last few games where we have been poor we filled it 60300 against st mirren, hamilton etc , and 12 million fans was the last estimate which has almost definately gone up to at least 15or so million fans (due to added fanbases in Japan, Poland, China (and possibly korea soon))... sorry but bar man utd, barcelona or real madrid in europe there isnt many with that many fans let alone in the EPL oO)

i think its kind of fact that we have more fans than any team in EPL bar Man Utd.....

but whatever, our team is **** currently, prob mid table prem currently which aint good enough.
