Within three minutes Raheem Sterling has scored on his debut.

He made an auspicious start with his first touch, falling over the ball inside the first minute.

The next time the England man got it, he raced clear of the backline - having been found by a brilliant pass by Iheanacho - and coolly slotted home.

His run beyond the defence was perfectly timed - and his finish was pretty perfect too.

So that's Sterling off for City vs Roma in their friendly

How many's at the MCG out of interest?

It's literally just come up haha.

41, 131.

And one was Wolverine Hugh Jackman lol

Which says it all as to the recent ridiculous 'big club' bunkum on here.

L'pool go there 2 years back and pull in 95K. Then follow that by selling out two stadiums for over 100K in Oz this summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and City may rule the roost domestically currently. But on the World wide scene nothing in England and very few clubs anywhere if truth be told compare to the stature and pulling power of L'pool and Utd.

That's what an unparalleled history does for you. As you well know with Milan.

I'm watching the game and the stadiums empty. It just goes to show how far away City are from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and United in terms of their global following.

A more than half empty MCG must look horrid on the TV.

Italian fans have the right idea. They don't like the way the clubs going, they stay away and hit them in the pocket. And as such, having a big love for Milan, it's cringe worthy watching most their games the last few years with barely over 30K there. The San Siro is still one of the best stadiums in the World, but not when there's blocks and blocks of empty seats.

City are only a 'big' club in their own delusional minds. They're big players currently, but take away the Arab money and they go back to what they always have been. Pretty much nobody's.

Another thing that is a complete fallacy that gets thrown up; City are the true Manchester club. Complete bunkum. South Manchester in particualr has always been staunch Utd. Utd. drawing on a large majority today of out of town fans is the nature of being a big, successful club.

@SkySportsNewsHQ BREAKING NEWS: Esteban Cambiasso announces he will not play for Leicester next season. More on #SSNHQ

This is not strictly speaking about the EPL but LOL!

They Come Over Here...
In the Daily Mail, Charlie Sale is bemoaning an invasion of foreigners into the Championship, and he's an angry man. 'Spanish invading the Championship,' is the suitably grumpy headline.

'Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore's provocative advice to England manager Roy Hodgson is to start looking in the Championship for players because not enough of them are playing in a top flight full of worldwide recruits. Yet the trend this summer is pointing towards the best young players in the Championship not featuring in starting line-ups.

'The clubs are looking instead to buy experienced La Liga players attracted by the £15,000 to £20,000-a-week wages available in England's second tier compared to a £10,000-a-week average in Spain.'

Mediawatch knows that the Daily Mail might like to get its knickers in a twist over our brave lads not being given enough minutes, but this is a laughable overreaction.

Number of permanent Championship transfers this summer: 124
Number of those transfers involving imports from Spain: 6 (and one of them is Scottish)
Number of those over the age of 26 (and therefore nominally describable as 'experienced La Liga players'): 2

The only thing these arriving Spaniards could 'invade' is a phone box.
