The Premier League Thread

I agree about the lack of quality but it works both ways. If you cant surround him with quality when it comes to playing against better opp they just cut out the passing lanes and are on to him in a flash. He literally strolls around and makes it extremely easy to do mark out the game for the opp.

They have to surround him with better quality now as there's no way any President will let him leave so they'll extend him for the rest of his career.

Pochetino's a great shout to start that project.

Poch needs a better structure above him, it all went to **** when the DOF Mitchell left due to falling out with levy. Poch left to his own device is an absolute disaster.

In modern football you can't get away with a player who is just walking around like he's royalty. It may work in LaLiga most seasons, but in Europe it gets exposed every year for like half a decade. Messi is "conserving energy" for that one moment of magic that may not even come, meanwhile his teammates have to work double shift papering over the cracks.

Barcelona have to pay Liverpool €5m (£4.5m) if Philippe Coutinho wins the Champions League with Bayern Munich this season.

Uff....

I don't think anyone could beat Bayern this year over a 2-leg tie, but anything can happen when it's just one game.

This Bayern team is scary, probably the best CL team in last 5 years or so.

Bayern can definitely be caught sleeping because of their high defense line, but a team like Atletico would be best suited for that. Just park the bus and counter. Teams that try to build from the back and play through the press usually end up looking like Barca yesterday. Pressing is not just relentless but people can't cope with the amount of pace Bayern has upfront, one mistake and you're overrun.
