Presumably this is the same Van Basten who would always park the bus with Netherlands team that had RVP, RVN and Robben in the front.

I honestly don't remember van Basten's Dutch teams. (Probably as I rarely watch Intentional football. Even the summer tournaments.). So I can't comment there.

But just 'parking the bus' would be quite adventurous and attacking for Simeone. How anyone can remotely enjoy watching his brand of anti-football I don't know? Which is all made even worse by the fact he has some superb, top draw talent at his disposal. How he get's players like Greizmann and João Félix to buy into playing backwards/ throwing themselves to the ground and time waisting from the opening KO is anyones guess? Can't be much job satisfaction playing at Atleti under him.

That said, I sincerely hope they beat City tonight. I very much doubt it, as City are LEVELS above both Madrid sides and I fully expect to be facing them in Paris at the end of May. But here's hoping they shock me and fall to Simeone's B/S.

I can respect his urge to win, but the things he's willing to do to win are no-go for me. Imo, he's epiphany of whats wrong in modern football, well most of it.

Super entertaining game, that was 100% a pen at the end though.

Time for Agent Rafa to finish what he started and send the blue ***** down!

Is 4th place in the league cursed this season? Arsenal may have a game in hand over those around them but their form has fallen off a cliff. Spurs were clear but seem to be bottling it again West Ham are sitting quietly for now and then we have Manchester United who are currently a law unto themselves.

With the relegation of Oldham out of the football league, Everton are now the only team in the professional football pyramid not to win a trophy or promotion since 1995
