Lol. Mate, footballers, honestly .....

I know a lad who used to work for Everton. He was like a player go-to guy. Taxi service for any new players/ young players that didn't have a car. Picking new signings up the airport/ train station. Fixing things around the home. Minder. The full gambit. Anyways, they picked up this fella' from Arsenal. 18/19. This is around the late '90's/ early 00's. Under the radar signing who they had high hopes for him. He turned into nottin'. Well, Everton put the kid in an apartment they own in town. And Mark gets a call saying he needs to go down, the washing machines broke ..... The kid was only trying to wash his clothes the dishwasher! Seriously.

They get EVERY last thing done for them now as kids so all they have to worry about is football that most of them have ZERO life skills what so ever. SO much wrong with the youth ranks.

The chairman of the London Legacy Development Corporation, owners of the Olympic Stadium, has resigned.


David Edmonds, who has been a director of the company that controls the Olympic Park since 2009, offered his resignation to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, on Wednesday night.


It comes after Sky News learned that the taxpayer-funded cost of turning the icon of London 2012 into a football stadium for West Ham United has risen from £272m to £323m.

Mayor Khan has launched an investigation into the cost and said "big questions" need to be asked about the conversion.


David Goldstone, chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said: "David has made an enormous contribution to the legacy of the London 2012 Games and he has helped to steer the organisation through some extremely challenging issues. We thank him for all his hard work and wish him well in the future."



One of the factors behind the rise in costs is the estimated annual outlay of moving "retractable" seats, Sky News learned.


The cost of the seats, installed to improve the view for football, has increased from an estimated £300,000 to as much as £8m.


Engineers have said work to move them could take 15 days at the end of the football season and 15 days to put them back after the summer - three times as long as the five days initially predicted for each period.

The seating issue threatens the viability of the stadium's summer schedule, which includes concerts as well as athletics in 2017, and could even delay West Ham's return for the start of the new football season.


The rise in the cost of converting the arena for football takes the total cost of the stadium to £752m, all of which has been met by the taxpayer apart from a £15m contribution from West Ham.

The Olympic Stadium project has been a disaster. Why is it that they do these things better in other countries? They should have considered long term football usage before the stadium was build and kept that in mind with the design. The Stadium Olympico in Italy has worked well with both Lazio and Roma sharing the stadium and have arguably helped it feel like a footballing ground. The project is a disaster and a waste of taxpayers. Just comical.

I keep banging on about him but this kid is going to be a bona fide World Superstar. And so humble and grounded reflecting his family.

All for it. Anything that makes the game more honest. Players are so super fit now and the game played at such speed, particularly at the very top level, that it's hard for three guys to be expected to make that snap, often crucial decision. It'll take some getting used to and they'll be the inevitable teething problems like any big change. But I don't see how it can be a bad thing for the game.

Hopefully they'll keep on trialling it and get it down to a smooth, quick system when it's needed. Intrigued that the actual referee of the game doesn't get to look at a replay to decide. Would of thought it would make more sense to have him confer/ make the final call on any close decisions having looked at it again.
 
I'm all for using video footage to help the refs, but don't like the idea of some additional referees going through the footage on the sidelines. That'd be very expensive setup, you can only use it at a top level of football.

Should sort it like this instead - captains can challenge a decision (1 decision each half or something like that), the game is then stopped and refs go through whatever footage that is available. It's 2016, everybody has a camera on them so you can implement that all the way down to kids games. This way everybody gets the benefit of video tech, not just the filthy rich at the very top.
 
Just adopt the video system that Rugby uses.
When a call goes to video, it never hampers my enjoyment of the game.
 
And this is why English managers like Sean Dyche will remain as limited as they are. Absolutely f-ing clueless!
