The Club can confirm that Ryan Mason sustained a skull fracture in our fixture at Chelsea this afternoon.

He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he has undergone surgery.

Ryan is in a stable condition and is expected to remain in hospital for the next few days.

Everyone at the Club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the Accident and Emergency department and Neurosurgery Unit at St Mary’s Hospital.

A further update will be issued tomorrow.

The Football Association has charged Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger with misconduct in the wake of Sunday's game with Burnley.


The Arsenal manager had been sent to the stands by referee Jon Moss for complaining about the decision to award Burnley a penalty.


Wenger had a heated exchange with fourth official Anthony Taylor before walking to stand in the tunnel, and was caught on camera pushing the fourth official before stewards stepped in between the pair.

He will get an apology and a statue erected for him outside the FA headquarters.

When Pep Guardiola was in charge at Barcelona he became the high priest of tippy-tappy and Barca's famous La Masia academy just kept producing small, smart players like Lionel Messi, Pedro, Andres Iniesta, Xavi, Cesc Fabregas who could keep the ball all day. They were trained to wait patiently for the chance to deliver the killer through ball and create a beautiful moment.


That world drew from a lot of influences and fine thought. It had a whiff of Cruyff's Barcelona period and had kept on evolving and developing.

The whole article is completely rediculous from start to finish. Lost credibility with the term "tippy-tappy". He has no understanding of how Guardiola plays whatsoever. Arsenal, Germany, Barcelona, Atletico, Chile etc have all had success vs a false 9. He the claims that they don't draw out defenders in deep blocks, therefore they're users. This is a stupid generalisation. Different teams press in different ways. Do they defend zone? Do they defend man to man etc. They each have weaknesses. With zonal systems, the false 9 is able to create overloads and a man marking system is stifled by castling. Lumping balls into the box is statistically the most inefficient method of breaking down deep blocks. This is shocking analysis with no evidence to show. Niang off to Watford on loan with an option to buy for 13m it would seem by all accounts. Remember when he was the go to wonderkid on FM a few years back be a steal at that price if he works out. Has he just fallen off the radar at Milan Scouse/Average Joe?

Injury's and a very unstable situation at Milan haven't helped him at all.

But he's never really kicked on. He looks the same kid he did when he first came. All unfulfilled potential. TERRIBLE move bringing him to England IMHO. He'll get kicked from pillar to post over here which will hit his confidence even more.

Makes zero sense to me at all.

I've not seen him play in so long so cannot really say, shame because he had so much potential
