Today I sent out a scout for a young, German, central defender named Omer Toprak. He plays for the German club Freiburg. He's 19 years old and I believe he will be a great prospect for the club, even if he goes out on loan. I also have made a bid for Luka Modric of 18m pounds and it has been accepted, I believe that is enough to pay for him and I offered him a 5 year contract on 70k a week and a 1.2m pounds signing on fee. Hopefully he will accept because he is a player I can see becoming world class.

I am also extremely nervous because our first friendly of the season is in 2 days time and I still haven't decided on the squad. There are a few players that have confirmed there place in the squad but during the friendlies I think I am going to use a rotation system.

Today was the day... my first game in charge of Manchester City. I had finally decided on the squad and told the lads the team during breakfast and warned them that there will be rotations happening at half time. I also revealed the new kits for the new season, the lads were chuffed when I told them I helped design them. Although, I think they guessed I helped when the sponsor was Giorgio Armani!

In the end I decided on the following team:

Joe Hart GK, Aleksandar Kolarov LB, Jerome Boateng CB, Nedum Onuoha CB, Kolo Toure RB, Yaya Toure DMC, Adam Johnson ML, Victor Moses MR, David Silva AMC, Carlos Tevez FW, Robinho FW

I didn't use my strongest team but I tried out a new formation, I also purposely didn't use any players that didn't bother to turn up to the meeting at the begining of the season.

I was extremely disapointed with this result and expected much better of the squad and I made sure the lads knew of this. 0-0 against a club in a lower league than us if terrible. I kept the same formation at half time but I did make some changes. I brought of Micah Richards of Kolo Toure, Gareth Barry for Yaya Toure, Shaun Wright-Phillips for Victor Moses and Roque Santa Cruz for David Silva. I then swapped Robinho and Santa Cruz's positions. The squad should have easily won this match.

PLEASE COMMENT AND SAY IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING because it will help me and I need to know on improvements because this is my first story, thanks!

The only suggestion i have is for you to involve us more.. Ask readers things like, what do you think of the ins and outs? Are there any signings you can suggest? Otherwise people just say: 'Good Update'..

Today was supposed to be quite a good day, it was my second friendly match and I have signed some top players who should be given a chance to play in our team. However, one of the players who I was planning in playing today became injured. Nigel De Jong would be out for 2 weeks due to a chest injury in training. I wanted to see how well he played with the new formation I wanted to test due to losing the match against Preston. But that went out the window.

The new season begins in a few weeks and I just realised I still don't have a coach for the new season. I searched everywhere for a top coach for the top coach, so I decided to do what Sheikh did to find the manager. Open the job up to anyone...

Hi guys, this is Ross now. If you would like to become coach the application is underneath. The job applications close at 10pm tonight. PM me your application, thanks!

Application for Coach of Manchester City
In-Game Name:
In-Game DoB:

1. Who is, in your opinion, the best player on the team? Why do you think that?

2. Which area (Goalkeeper, Defenders, Midfielders, Strikers) is the best, in your opinion? Why do you think that?

3. What tactic would you use with the players available?

4. Why should I hire you?

5. What would you contribute to the story?

6. What is Manchester City's Club Nickname?

7. And lastly, who is Club Chairman?

Applications close 10pm tonight if I don't recieve any satisfactory applications, no coach will be hired. Good Luck!

Today was the day, the second friendly out of three. I was desperate to win this one and decided to try out a new formation, I liked the idea of 4-3-3. I thought that this formation would be a good one to use with the new players I have signed. In the end I decided on the following team:

Joe Hart GK, Wayne Bridge LB, Micah Richards RB, Omer Toprak CB, Kolo Toure CB, Luka Modric ML, David Silva MC, Franck Ribery MR, Carlos Tevez FW, Robinho FW, Victor Moses FW

This obviously wasn't me strongest squad it was a mixture of subs and first team.

Robinho
Yes!! Now this is more of the result I wanted. We never really got off in the first half untill right at the list minute Robinho opened the scoring. Then, after 62 minutes Carlos Tevez made it 2-0, Robinho then got his second goal of the game in the 71st mintute and then Franck Ribery scored on his debut in the 85th minute to make it 4-0. I was happy with that result. At half time I brought off Wayne Bridge for Aleksandar Kolarov, Micah Richards for Nedum Onuoha and David Silva for Stephen Ireland.

INJURY BLOW!!
I could not believe it, my captian and top defender is injured just before the last friendly and just before the start of the season. Kolo Toure will be out for 3 weeks for the same reason as Nigel De Jong, a chest injury.

Today was the last match of pre season, my squad had improved. I had spent money and I was planning to spend more to make my squad as strong as possible. I decided on a team that is almost the strongest team possible. I also decided to try out a player in a slightly different position but keep the formation 4-3-3. I told the lads the team the day before the game so everyone was prepped. Because this was probably the hardest team we had to face during pre season. I told the lads the team that was:

Igor Akinfeev GK, Aleksander Kolarov LB, Nedum Onuoha RB, Jerome Boateng CB, Yaya Toure CB, Luka Modric ML, David Silva MC, Franck Ribery MR, Fernando Torres FW, Carlos Tevez FW, Robinho FW

Franck Ribery
I was proud with the final result due to the fact that the team wasn't our first 11. The goal scorer was Omer Toprak who scored a header from a brilliant Franck Ribery free kick. I brought Omer on at half time Nedum Onuoha and that was a brilliant decision. At half time I also brought on Adam Johnson for Luka Modric and Gareth Barry for David Silva. However, unfortunatly I had to make a change in the 90th minute, Adam Johnson had to come off for Victor Moses due to the fact that Adam Johnson had a tackle made on him that made him unable to continue play. He suffered a broken toe and will now be out for 3 weeks. Injuries, Injuries, Injuries.

David Beckham has offically decided to retire at the end of the season. He however has recently signed a contract to sign Manchester City in a few months, he commented on that during his announcement saying that he will play for Manchester City untill the end of the season where he willl stop playing professional football. We spoke to Zinedine Zidane the new manager of Manchester City and what he thinks of this. He commented saying "I am dispapointed that David did not tell us this when deciding to sign his contract but we will still be very happy to have him playing with us from Decemeber onwards."

Today was the day that everyone began to judge me, today was the the day that could determine weather we finish top or last. Today was my first Barclays Premier League game in charge. It was quite a hard team, Fulham. We had also just drawn Bolton in the League Cup Second Round. I hadn't even decided on the team this morning. I didn't know weather I should risk giving players debuts. Changing formation. But, I decided on a team and told the lads at lunch today.

Igor Akinfeev GK, Aleksandar Kolarov LB, Jerome Boateng RB, Giorgio Chiellini CB, Yaya Toure CB, Luka Modric ML, Franck Ribery MR, Luis Suarez MC, Robinho FW, Edin Dzeko FW, Fernando Torres FW

Subs: Joe Hart GK, Victor Moses FW/MF, David Silva AMC, Wayne Bridge LB, Carlos Tevez FW, Micah Richards DRC, Omer Toprak DC

Fernando Torres
This was an OK result however, disapointing as we took the lead and didn't take the lead until the 61st minute throught Fernando Torres. Fulham then equalised in the 78th minute through Andranik. This puts us 8th in table. That's above bottom half but still 7 places from where we should be 1st.

Kolo Toure DRC
Wayne Bridge DL (Transfer Listed)
Aleksandar Kolarov DL
