KIT LAUNCH

A bit of influence from a previous Dundee kit, I'm very happy with how these turned out. The choice of a contrasting collar to go with the adverts and logo gives the finished kit great finish.
PRE-SEASON TARGETS
SPL: Winner.
SCOTTISH CUP: Winner.
SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP: Winner.
EUROPE: Champions League Last 16.

All up we lose four first team player. Our biggest loss was Sondre Rossbach who moves to Schalke for £15.5mil but could rise to £20mil. He was without doubt our most important player but after coming in on a free there was no way I was turning down that sort of money.
Piazon leave for more than double what he come from Chelsea for and we also say goodbye to Abdul Razak who follows Piazon to Norwich. He was a real fan favourite at Dundee but with youth at the club right on his tale for that defensive midfielder spot it was time to let him go.

With the money in the bank it was again a year of poaching youthful talent from countries across the world. We were able to bring in four first team quality players but I with all the youngsters in our youth ranks I will be giving many opportunities for them to improve and make their mark on the Scottish Premiership.

We see Pascal Itter leave for a small profit after moving last year. He was always going to be a short term option until I found a player good enough. Borja San Emeterio is exactly the play good enough to stabilise our right side for many years to come.

Buta was bought midway through last year as I was convinced that Piazon was on the move. He will act as decent cover for both wings as I found better options for the first team later in the window.

Luka Jovic joins the ranks after not playing a match for Red Star in two years. He was wasting away in the Serbian reserve leagues and for £1.5mil it was a risk for taking. He was sadly not given a work permit but he has been sent to French side, AC Ajaccio, to play some first team football for a first time in a long time.

A 36 year-old ***** Caballero has come in to act as cover for a very young goalkeeper department. Rossbach moved for big money, so our Croatian wonderkid, Matko Seric, will play regularly with ***** playing important games in the Champions League.

Our biggest signing for the window is Dortmund’s winger, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco. The 24 year-old have struggled since moving from Atletico and hopefully with regularly first team opportunities here in Dundee he will become the player he has always promised to be.

A total of 15 youth team players were bought this season with all showing significant improvement already. Still not Scottish talent coming through the ranks but with the players we have brought into we are in a strong position for many years to come.
RESULTS

Fairly average preseason campaign. Nothing compared to our last couple, it was just about getting the players fit and ready for the season ahead.
View attachment 207226
We make the Champions’ League group stages convincingly once again, but will struggle for sure to even make 3rd place for the Europa League Knockouts.

KEY PLAYER
View attachment 207237
THUSO MAHLANGU
After moving from Kaiser Chiefs in January last season, Mahlangu has become a key staple in the first team providing pace on the right wing. The kid is an absolute jet and with the potential to be a world class player, I’m very keen to see how he does this season.

Finally we will have our own stadium instead of renting Dens Park. Obviously it’ll be sad to leave the place we have called home since 1899.
LEAGUE RANKING

The Scottish Premiership moves again for 16th to 14th, jumping the Croatian and Czech first divisions.

Great to see next year we will have two teams qualifying for the Champions League.

The 2018 world cup is over with France beating Argentina in extra time. Morocco were the most surprising of the tournament making the Semi-Finals.
