How would you compare team surrounding him at Barca to the city one? + Head coach

Paris Saint-Germain are now “progressing” in direct negotiations to sign Leo Messi. Talks ongoing to find the right ‘structure’, PSG are pushing since yesterday and now feeling confident. #Messi Manchester City are still quiet. PSG (and Neymar...) working for Messi. #PSG

Honestly I think Leo and Cristiano have gotten too big for their own good. They both have a huge group of fans who don't really follow any specific team they just follow Cristiano or Leo. Bad results get blamed on everybody from players to coaches to directors except the two primadonnas who are never at fault for anything.

Sure they can still give you 30-40 goals a year but they haven't been playing like superhumans for a while now and it really doesn't seem worth it to invite all that toxicity to any well-functioning squad, unless you're one of the clubs that basically have unlimited money and can afford taking a risk of giving a 35 year old biggest contract on the a planet.

So the counter to Messi actually leaving is... Madrid, Barca and Messi entangled in a joint plot/bluff to challenge a private equity stake and earn a greater say at the La Liga table. It sounds conspiratorial, but it’s also believable. A ******* mad situation.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi leading talks. PSG know Messi will study markets in MLS and PL & are aware of tension between Barca/La Liga which could mean it’s a big game. But no downside, really, in talking to Messi and seeing if he fancies it

@garbosj: "#mufc are also in contact with Lionel Messi's representatives and have offered a contract of €50m gross before agent fees and signing on fees. United don't think they're as strong a candidate as PSG - who have offered €75m gross over 2 years." [@TransferPodcast]

Its a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign the best player in the world. If you can afford it, you’d be mad not to at least seriously consider.

Deal of the century for PSG. Will be interesting to see if this delivers them that elusive European crown.

I personally think it will. PSG know what it means to suffer in the competition, having lost a finals once. Hope Chelsea provides a spirited defence.
