Any thoughts on where hargreaves will end up this summer? SAF confirmed he is not getting a new contract. QPR?

Massive gamble which ever team will be going to sign him. I dont think there will be many interested as he hardly played for over 2 years.

If he can regain his fitness, which every team signs him will get one helluva mid fielder.

Maybe back to Germany?

I think there will be plenty of interest, but I think more likely on a pay-as-you-play deal. Maybe even the MLS, possibly Toronto FC?

Even pay as you play contract means Club will pay him some basic wages when is not playing/Available. Also there is a 25 player squad rule where teams cannot afford to waste a spot (He is not home grown wither). I think the reason we are not offering contract is because of 25 player squad rule(Maybe the big reason).

If fit hope he signs with either Dortmund or Leverkusen. Would love to see him play for them..

Shame thou

Newcastle have agreed a fee with a relegation-threatened club for an International midfielder. Most likely to be Birmingham's Seb Larsson.
Also, the club are expected to have a second player signed within the next two weeks, which will probably be Charles N'Zogbia :D

It's a club not in a relegation battle today.

The Magpies are desperate to keep the identity of the player under wraps as they aim to steal an early march in the transfer market on their Premier League rivals. It is believed they have already agreed a fee with the European-based central midfielder's club. Pardew hopes to conclude the deal in the next few days before unveiling the player to the Toon Army.

"I think we're close on one player which we would like to get over the line... I think we're close on one player which we would like to get over the line. And I can say that because he's an international player - not someone who belongs to one of the bottom four battling relegation... There are two or three others we're monitoring and we know what the figures are to get them over the line."
Jérémy Menez is the favourite in the press, Marvin Martin has also been mentioned, and Gervinho continues to crop up.

Also the Sturridge article I mentioned last night has turned up now: Click. However it's just speculation based on him saying he wants first team football next year, and will look elsewhere if Chelsea can't promise him that, and the presumption that the expected new manager will keep Drogba, sign more strikers and get rid of Sturridge.

Also the N'Zogbia £60k thing came from the People with no substantiation, I wouldn't want it to be true anyway. He's not worth that much a week.

yeah, I misread the article. Now I have seen that, I reckon Menez is favourite, been heavily linked the past day or so, and Graham Carr was spotted in Rome couple of weeks ago. Menez looks a good bet. Mates with Hatem and N'Zogbia(if he joins), so he would settle well)

Gervinho is going nowhere. He said a couple of weeks ago that he will only leave Lille if it is for another Champions League team.

Menez is good, but selfish and inconsistent. Good, quick, incisive runner though, and versatile.

Yeah Menez is the most likely. Just checked and Martin hasn't made a senior international appearance yet, which rules him out for now. I realise Gervinho is highly unlikely, but according to Pardew he's trying to target some players who're wanting Champions League football, presumably using Tioté to scare them into signing a contract, and the link just won't go away, especially from a certain source who was right all through January.

'On transfers Utd not after Enrique...BUT have offered Young £130k pwk' If true, wowza.

Hearing rumours that Gareth Barry's representatives have been seen in London again. Maybe a sneaky bid by Chelsea?

I'll throw up if that happens. I'd rather re-sign Djemba-Djemba than see that cocky **** strut around in a United shirt.

Jay Bothroyd has left Cardiff after failing to agree new contract. Hasn't he been linked with Newcastle a lot?

Although on a different thread most people will understand what i mean when i say. "Back to the ******* thing"!!!! How many times will i have to say this seriously!!!

I dont think they have gotten a bid of 35mil. He is probably just saying that to drive up the price. Inter and Man City are interested in him. I dont see neither team paying that kind of sum...and certainly not over that.

In other news...rumours say that Madrid have reached an agreement over Fabio Coentrao. I like him...but we already have Marcelo and having 2 world class left-backs is just too much. Especially when there is not that much need to rotate often. If it's true...i dont see why we bought him. Marcelo has been great.

Probably going to use one of them as AML?
