exactly.

The concept of the 'Transfer Rumour Thread' completely eluded you, didn't it?

Nothing wrong with hoping/dreaming is there???

Im sorry if I offended you in any way.. ofc its nothing wrong with dreaming but that qualifies as an unreal dream to be perfectly honest.

Newcastle is a good, strong team(especially this season), club with history, but I dont see how a massively immense talent like Hazard would wanna make a step down in his career and leave Lille (champions in France, well yea, its FRANCE, but still.. champions.) and join Newcastle where he will not even play in the most prestigious European tournament CL... (I dont even count LE cuz it doesnt work for him imho)..

I've said it many times, Im saying it now again - Hazard will be bought by a big, and I mean BIG team in Europe. That said, I'm excluding Chelsea right away, even if there were reports (how true, how false you decide) linking him with us, especially his agent's bla-bla words which are as reliable as ****.

I think RM are the favourites to buy him and maybe **ity.

Peace. I didnt mean to offend you in any way :)

Urh, well Cabaye did. :)

Did you just compare Hazard to Cabaye?

Indeed, indirectly, because they come from the same club, and the situation you were referencing was the same for both players. Granted Hazard has a much more varied array of clubs he can join, and may well be a much better player, but that doesn't mean the fact that one of the French Champions players of the season, even when Hazard was there, joined a mid table Premier league club, should be discarded due to the increased reputation of the player, allowing that you are obviously not granted the luxury of insight into the players mind and what he is motivated by, which you may well be. Who knows.

P.S. Can I have Tuesday nights Euromillions numbers while you're at it.

haha, Dunc, Hazard >>> Cabaye mate :D why do we even mention this, its pretty darn obvious. Hazard is a player for RM, Cabaye for Newcastle, is that said alright ? :)

and im not saying Cabaye is a bad player, its just that Hazard is too good :D

To be fair to Mr Terry, the fact that Hazard could go to pretty much any top European club he wants whereas 95% of people had never heard of Cabaye before this season is a most definite factor. Cabaye needed to go to somewhere like Newcastle so that he could prove has what it takes to play in PL and get to the top European level (no offence to Ligue Un)

So what do you think, Hazard [><=] Cabaye?

Hazard is the better player, but Cabaye functions in his role as a player just as well as Hazard functions in his. In the same way Messi may be the more talented player, but Busquets still functions valuably for Barca. Your argument was on the premise that Hazard wouldn't move because Lille are French champions and in the CL, whereas an equally functioning player (which is the basis on which all clubs sign players) did make the move. The move is incredibly unlikely because Hazard already has a far higher reputation and multiple suitors for his services. Your argument was wrong and disrespectful to Cabaye. I'd happily take Cabaye at United.

Tbh I don't think it matters for this discussion, it's all about how they're perceived. Eden is perceived to be an amazing talent and has been for a number of years so he could go anywhere he wants. For him, going to Newcastle would be a step down not because Lille are a bigger club but because he can go pretty much wherever he wants to. Cabaye on the other hand was not perceived to be a major talent (listen to Phillipe Auclaire's comment on FW last week for reference to how he was perceived in France, as a good player but not someone who would become the "lynchpin" of that Newcastle side, or indeed a top european club, so quickly) so moving to Newcastle wasn't a step down for him like it would be for Hazard because at the time it was the best available option.

To answer you question I think that in terms of raw talent Hazard is a good way above Cabaye but as Joel pointed out it's about how effectively they fill their role. To give you a CFC example, I think that Mata is a much more talented player than Sturridge but they're both good at their specific roles.
