Reports Luka Modric is still trying to push through a deal to join Real Madrid in The Sun, can't see how though, got too many players there already.

Apparently the Modric to Madrid deal is "done deal". Just broke on the radio. Wasn't expecting that tbh

Just broke coupe of minutes ago on Talksport-and tbf I've found it very accurate in the past

I honestly do not get this move...

Players at R.Madrid who he will be challenging spots with.. Xabi Alonso, Nuri Sahin, Lass Diarra, Sami Khedira, Altintop, Granero, Kaka, Ozil.

(This is covering both the two MC positions in a 4-2-3-1 and the AMC role, which is no doubt devoted to Mesut Ozil).

Where would he fit here? Someone tell me please. Or is it just money related.

I would say he is better than Sahin, Diarra, Altintop and Granero so he wouldn't have much competition. Plus Madrid will probably get rid of at least two of the above players if they sign Modric.

Alonso-Modric would be an incredibly dynamic double pivot and would truly turn Real Madrid into something special

Talksport would claim their own mothers are transfer targets if it'd get hits.

Sahin is an incredibly talented player and far too good to be wasted on Real Madrid's bench, not to mention a certain Sami Khedira as well, would he really be happy with losing his first team place to Luka Modric, I highly doubt it.

If Modric moves surely Nuri Sahin and Diarra are up for grabs.

The rumours are that both are up for sale this summer yes.

Big rumours in Turkey that Lass is heading to Fenerbahce, and I remember hearing that Nuri Sahin was looking towards a move to AC Milan.

Not sure if it's been posted already, but Rory Smith of The Times has said this morning that Manchester United bid £20M for Joao Moutinho. Was rejected and they were told to bid £26M if they want him by Porto.

There has been various sources today claiming we have made offers for him. I would love Moutinho at United, exactly what we need.

Money related, but also because Modders is so very versatile. He can play behind the striker, deep in a midfield two, on the wing, wherever. Also, he goes straight into a team that is guaranteed to compete on all fronts, as well as rotate regularly.

Although Modric's talent is exceptional, he still does lack assists and goals considering. I still think Real Madrid would not be the best move for him though, other clubs he would be a guaranteed starter every game. (United/Chelsea).

Certainly, but that's mostly because he plays so deep. His key assists stats are still exceptional, as are his dribbling ones.

He'll get more money at Madrid, and he'll be getting about 2/3s as many starts as he would at United or Chelsea due to his versatility and to relieve Xabi Alonso.

He lacks goals/assists but that's not his game. He dictates tempos of games, like Scholes. Scholes doesn't get many assists/goals anymore but still one of the most influential players in the United team. He keeps the game ticking for his side and retains possession. I'm not 100% on this, but I'm sure that most of the time he'll get the assist of the assist in goals for Croatia and Spurs.

According to Steve Bateman (former Sky Sports journalist now working in US), QPR have bid £5M for Park Ji-Sung and Man United expected to accept offer.

Why would he get more money at Madrid than Chelsea though?
