Agree with you. Real Madrid are the most attractive option but apparently their are some problems with the issue of the transfer fee between Spurs and RM. As much as Levy does not want to sell to a EPL club, I am sure he will not sell a prized asset like Modric who is tied down on a long-term contract at a discount.
And you know me, I always like to look on the optimistic side in the summer so I will continue to hope haha
Well quite. It's not the end of the world for Chelsea. There are good registas out there for a fraction of the price. Lucas Biglia or Ever Banega, perhaps.
None as good as Modric though. Not the end of the world but if we get Modric Chelsea will once again become serious title contenders
Still think Ever Banega would be a risk, his injuries have been pretty dreadful, no doubt a great player but think the last one might of been one to many and could effect him. Someone like United could not take a risk, especially when we need to spend wisely.

An exceptionally tidy player. Not quite a regista in the purest sense - he doesn't have the expansive passing range of a Scholes or Pirlo - but in Chelsea's case he wouldn't need it, since you have Juan Mata. He's a lot more solid defensively than many of the other candidates too.

Not convinced it would be, well it depends actually because we know Valencia are not in the best of terms financially but I still think they would want to keep him.
Still would rather United look at other options, such as Moutinho, Strootman. Can't think of many others right now, Modric seems to be Madrid bound and probably would prefer Chelsea even if he does not end up at Madrid.
Thing is though mate we dont need to strengthen other areas. Our attack looks really solid with the addition of Hazard, Marin and now hopefully Moses. We have hopefully sorted out a back-up RB in Maicon. We have enough options at CB. LB we have Cole with Betrand/PVA covering.
In the destroyer role we have Romeu, Mikel, Essien, Meirless etc.
So the only real position we need to sort out is regista. Might as well spend big there because a great regista can make a team so much better.
Agree with this, seems a hybrid creator/destroyer type and he is young so he can still improve a lot. Trusting him with such an important role at a big club is another matter entirely

I have seen him play 3-4 times this season (twice in Steel City Derby) and he didn't look Premier League quality to me. However, my United supporting friends say he is a very good player who likes to get forward and i think he scored 7/8 goals this season from defense which is pretty good.
Definitely. Meireles' strength is that he can do a job anywhere to a good standard, even as a destroyer.
