What can I say? Just got back from the pub..

Can't complain about the first half performance at all. I thought we were superb at the back - we let them have it, and only a stupid mistake and a bit of magic in the finish gave them the lead.

Second Half.. Woof as James Richardson would say.. Looked pretty nervous after that late first half goal, got back into it, then a completely ridiculous sending off:

1. When do players EVER get booked for that in reality?
2. Even if it says so in the rules, why would you book him for that, KNOWING you'd have to send him off?
3. With 100,000 whistling and singing fans, how on earth is he meant to hear the whistle?

Bendtner should have scored to send us through, but it wasn't to be. Arsenal looked absolutely knackered for most of the second half, and Barca could/should have scored one or two more in the last twenty minutes or so.

Barca deserved to win, but there's no doubt that the referee had an awful game INCLUDING not giving them a penalty.. Barca players were all to willing to dive though and actually seemed to commit just as many late challenges/fouls as us, but very rarely got booked, or even talked to.

Fact is, we were through before the ref changed the game.

No shame getting beat by 1 goal from the best team in the planet

1 proud arsenal fan

So this makes 3 in a row.

Chelsea away
Inter at Cam Nau- Motta Red card
RVP red card.

Best team in the world always need their 12th player to do the job..
He was hardly the 12th man.
He had a fairly bad game, RVP's sending off was harsh but Messi should have had a penalty in the first half.

Its a growing pattern though Mike. We fall short over and over again we lack them few quality players who would push us across the line. Although I agree we've got nothing to be ashamed about, the performance tonight was lacklustre from the what the stats say but anyone who watched it knows we could of nicked it at the end.

Just seen on the BBC that Clichy is the only player there that has won something too. The winner's mentality doesn't exist (yet). Wenger should go out and buy a commanding CB and GK with that sort of experience, but he's too stubborn.

Oh and please PLEASE no one go on about not having a leader now. Fabregas apparently twinged his injury after 15 mins and played on. That's what someone who CARES about the club, and wants to LEAD his club to success does.

We did ourselves proud, there's no shame about losing to such a good (but ******* hideous) side.

Joss, he isnt a leader though. Terry, Vidic, Ferdinand, Carragher, Gerrard, those are leaders, they have a natural abililty to command that Fabregas doesnt

Jesus. Some Arsenal fans clearly didn't watch the match.

Thread getting closed for real at 23:00 so if you want to post do so in the next 10 minutes as the match is over and we have all said our bit

Fact is - that is not a fact.

Barcelona were dominatn before and after the sending off. Koscielny should have been sent off, and as mentioned Barca had a goal ruled out at the Emirates, which was wrongly disallowed.

Exceptionally harsh sending off, but Barca marginally deserved to go through. Lovely second goal by Barca, fantastic tackle by Mascherano on Bendtner.

But it is a fact? At 1-1 we were through, whatever the performance of Barca.

Ref changed the game with an outragoues sending off.

This bit, dosen't matter.

It would be a fact if games ended on the dot at 53 minutes.
But they don't.

Of course it does. Referees do this kind of thing all the time. A player is on a yellow, makes a dubious challenge, and the ref lets him off.

At 1-1 - we were going through. FACT.

At 1-1, the Referee changed the game.

At 1-1 you still at 0 shots on goal and after 1-1 you still had 0 shots on goal. The Van Persie decision but you can't say it changed the game. whos to say even if Van Persie was still on the pitch Barca wouldn't still have won?

Of course I ****** well can. We had 10 men after that, and our heads went down.

I don't give a flying **** if we had 0 shots, at 1-1, we were through - why are people disputing this?

The ref had a really poor game in general. A sending off for nothing, 1 second after the whistle goes, a penalty that should have been given to them, Dani Alves' scissor tackle on Nasri, the numerous fouls on our players that were waved on etc etc

Who's to say if he had stayed on we wouldn't of won it?

And it did change the game, took away another player to help defend and another player Barca had to keep an eye on and a player who could of taken any chance that fell his way.
